  1. Sarcasticon more or less covered it there!

Really good team and thoroughly enjoyed this TF. Was initially quite interested to see how a 4-blaster team would fair, if I'm honest I was a little worried prior to the TF but as it turns out there was no need to be. The team kept things nice and tight and ordered all the way through, with only a couple of faceplants in the final chamber when we got split and knocked off the walkways. Employed a different tactic to the first time I tried the TF, which made things challenging. Lots of fun all around and finished off Burkholder with a rather nice big explosion of anti personnel mines... KABOoOOM! We shoulda done this on November 5th

Thanks for organising and thanks to all the team!

Please count myself and Pinkette in on your next TF group!
  2. Very kind of you Villainous lot. Almost uncharacteristic

So, which PvP zone will this be in? SC, I hope...
  3. Hey Yamarashi, I thinked we've teamed together on a couple of TF's in the past... Citadel perhaps?

Ok, I'll put you down. Let's see if there's any more interest before going for the mish - perhaps early next week.
  4. Logged into a very old lvl12 char yesterday, just to kill some time while waiting for the Toothbreaker group to assemble. Found myself standing in front of this lovely lady. The mish has already been cleared, all I need to do is lead her out.

Most people will probably have this important badge already, but I know it's a real pain in the butt if you've missed it and outlevelled the mish. So if you want Spelunker, respond here or in-game to @Oneiros and we can arrange to include you.

If joining the mish now won't get you the badge, I'd be happy to reset it and start again - it's not a very long mish anyway. Will leave this post open for a good few days, hopefully we can get a full team of Spelunkers.
  5. Well that went rather smoothly, with the exception of a slight "fallback & regroup" prior to a second wave attack on a lvl51 Snaptooth, but that just added to the fun.

Thanks to @Dixon Hill for organising, and thanks to others who donated their mishes to help us all get the badge.

    gj.
  6. Thanks Lord_Spawnus. Just confirming, we'll both be there for the fun. Let's bring down some mechs!
  7. We'd like to join.

    Mr TPF - lvl34- earth/emp troller - @Oneiros
    Pinkette - lvl29 - ma/sr scrapper - @Pinkette

I've done this before and enjoyed it, Pinkette still needs the badge. Will confirm tonight.

What's the lineup so far? Oh, and it would be easier for us if we could start a tad later, say 1830 (getting home from work etc).
  8. My partner is missing the Plague Stopper and Spirit Warrior accomplishment badges, but she seems to have outlevelled the contacts. We're looking for heroes who have the mish available, or soon will have it, so we can team up and get her the badge.

    Mr TPF - earth/empathy troller
    Pinkette - ma/sr scrapper

We will need to be exemped.

Weekday evenings are best, preferably wed/thur/fri.

Please respond here or in-game to @Oneiros if you can help with either of the above badges so we can sort out the details.

    Thanks very muchly
  9. Hi all. We'd like this badge. Please sign up the following Heroes:

    * Mr TPF, lvl34 earth/emp troller, @Oneiros
    * Pinkette, lvl29 ma/sr scrapper, @Pinkette

We'll be at Pocket D in case we can join. What's the lvl range for this mish?
  10. Hmm, okie. Thanks for your efforts

Well, I'll make sure to take lots of debt right at the start then. Problem is I'm only 2 bars to 35 so there's always the danger I might actually lvl from the 'half' xp I'd get while working off debt. I guess it depends how much each beastie will give us.

See you tonight folks. 8pm UK time, at Warburg entrance
  11. Hello Chiefette

My main character is a lvl34 earth controller so I've not had my pet for too long. I'm by no means a CoH veteran and I'm still learning every day. I doubt I will give any new perspectives to a multi-lvl50 hero such as yourself, but I do love earth control and will share some of my thoughts.

I guess, ultimately, how the power is best used will depend on your play style.

My character is built purely for teamplay which means I have absolutley no damage enhancements slotted anywhere in controls. This makes soloing very very difficult for me. I can easily subdue large and even multiple mobs, but I can't hurt them. Doing mishes or even hunting solo was a nightmare for me and took AGES. This changed drastically when I gained Animated Stone. He may be slow and he may be stupid and he may look like poo, but he does whack a great big PUNCH. He has been invaluable to me when playing alone, even though I mostly team.

I notice your secondary is Storm. I've not tried that myself, but I understand it is capable of some serious damage, particularly with containment set up, right? My secondary is Empathy, so my argument above is valid for my own case but may not be true for yours.

When I team with large groups, I use the pet differently. He still does contribute to damage dealing, but the scrappers and blasters are much faster and more intelligent at dishing it out than he is. When teaming I use him as a dumbed down tank. I throw him into large mobs, either by summoning him there directly, or by TP'ing him into their midst. He takes on lots of aggro and usually absorbs their attention until the team can take them apart. This is usually quite effective as he can take quite a beating, even vs the larger foes, and has some decent resistance. He is, however, rather stupid and will sometimes just stand there next to me, instead of remaining in battle.

I mostly team with my girl, Pinkette, who is a MA scrapper. When we duo, the pet becomes more useful as a tanker and damage dealer. I suppose his overall usefulness diminishes as the team becomes larger and his role is replaced by more intelligent heros.

Sometimes, I forget to summon him when teaming, so perhaps that says something about his usefulness in that scenario.
  12. Just wondering about a couple of things, perhaps you higher-level heroes can help me out here:

    - in terms of Mind Control, are we credited for kills resulting from the spiders defeating each other under Mass Confusion?

    - I'm lvl34, but Warburg will auto-lvl me to 38. On killing similar lvl spiders in the zone, will I be getting XP or Influence? I'm trying not to lvl (waiting on a friend) so if it is the former case I will need to incurr lots of debt beforehand.

    Thanks
  13. Blasters = AoE = good, right?

Cool, the more the merrier! That's 7 heroes and anywhere from 1 to 4 or 5 pets?

    Don't forget your bugspray!
  14. Great, it's sorted then. That's 5 of us then, right?

    1x scrapper
    1x tank
    2x troller/emp
    1x wotever-Coin_-is
  15. BlueRabbit, saw your msg on the Badgers channel, but too late it seems. Did you just wanna make a start on the spiders, or was there something else you needed?

I'll definitely be there for Wednesday, but I will also be around tonight and Thursdsay so anyone wanting to extend the hunt, PM me here or send me a global in-game.
  16. Wednesday is convenient for me. I'm UK based and can be around any time after 18:30ish. Let me know where to meet etc, either here or in-game. Looking forward to it

    Monster Hunt

Oh ok, I see! Thanks for the info, some really great angles on those screenies. Have been involved in some of those "we were so cool slaying that one GM, let's go find the rest" groups myself then. Really fun and spontaneous, I love the energy once several teams gather and begin to feel unbeatable. Somehow it always seems to start off with Lusca, funny that, isn't it?

The only GM badge I am missing is Jurrassik, but I will gladly help battle the rest if you lot get together. They're just too ugly to have prancing around our beloved Paragon City!

I'm earth/empathy and will likely be on healing and buff duties. I can never manage to hold a GM, I guess the number of holds I need to spam is pretty huge. Is this even possible? So I make do with slowing and immobing and then focus on empathy.

    Monster Hunt

I'm free most evenings, or can be, and would be up for anything that involves the words "hunt" and "monster" in the same sentence. Hm, except perhaps if it was "monster to hunt us". Anyway, could you let me know a little more about what to expect? Maps, foes, lvls? I'm unaware of the Union event you refer to.

    Thanks.
  19. Thoroughly enjoyed playing through that. Well done to the team, had a good mix, well organised and well played. Gj all!
  20. We talking the Venomous badge? I'd be happy to join, not sure what they're resistance to earth control is, but I'm a useful empath I've been told.

I can do any evening this week, bar Friday.

    lvl34 earth/empathy. Global is below.
  21. Hey George. Just a quick "thank you, and well done!" for your InstaCab™ services in The Hollows yesterevening. We met last night near the Gate, I complimented you on your creative and funny broadcast binds. I was on as an alt - Darkcelerate, remember me?

Hm, I didn't actually do much travelling around the entire map myself, but the SB buffs were still much appreciated for recharge and recovery purposes - always handy when you're back down to a lvl 5 grinding on Volts and Bricks! . Very muchly appreciated!

I've seen quite a few taxis in operation there during the past, but particularly enjoyed your whole theme. Very catchy, very good humoured, and I hope more people start to take on your services.

When none of my friends are about, I usually idle in The Hollows myself, with my main - lvl34 Mr TPF (for TeamPlayFirst). I provide a similar service to InstaCab™ , though it's perhaps more of an ambulance & response thing than a taxi service . An an /empath, I provide heals and buffs for any heroes that want them, and of course rez. I also provide TP evacuation for stranded heroes or just transport to and from mishes.

I've spent quite a bit of time patrolling The Hollows and during that time I tend to reflect on the consequences of my actions. Sure, I'm an empath and I know I'm trying to help, but am I really doing so? In keeping lower lvl heroes alive and TP'ing them all over the map, am I taking away from "The Hollows Experience" for newer players? I remember my early lvls grinding there, and trying to cross the treacherous map for those CoT mishes in Eastgate Heights with nothing but hover. It was hell! It felt like such a struggle and it made The Hollows feel dangerous, risky, the Hazard Zone that it really is. I sometimes worry that I am ruining this experience, or the atmosphere of a Hazard Zone, for newer players.

I try to be there if needed, but more of a passive assistance. One of my fav things is shadowing a lone heroe or a group trying to make it across the map on foot through all the mobs. I SJ from building top to building top, staying hidden to them, but ready to react if they need it.

I always make sure to ask low lvl heroes if they want heals first, there's nothing worse than annoying a blaster working on his defiance, or a char trying to die for a quick trip to Atlas hospital.

And after a patch of active healing and buffing, I always make it clear when I'm leaving them to it. Nothing worse than a low lvl faceplanting because he has gotten comfortable with your heals and buffs and stopped watching his bars.

I guess it always makes it worth it when they thank you with things like "a light in the darkness", I've had similar expressions of gratitude myself.

I apologise for the slightly off topic tangent there, it's just that watching you last night brought out some thoughts I've been having about my own actions. Perhaps being aided and taxi'd around IS part of "The Hollows Experience". Perhaps as heroes, we SHOULD be there to help.

Besides, if teams respond to our broadcasts, then they want the help, right?

Anyway, best of luck with InstaCab™ - hope it is fulfilling and is always well received. I think Mr TPF will join your global channel if that's ok, so if you ever have a need for a high-speed ambulance unit as part of your InstaCab™ fleet, just honk your horn

Of course, Darkcelerate (kin/dark) has just gotten Siphon Speed now, so...

    /em thumbsup
  22. Adding my name to the roster. (and that of my pet, sTony Montana)
  23. Nope, the mission awards the "Doctor's Ally" Accomplishment badge, which is itself one of the several prerequisites to the "Conspiracy Theorist" Accolade.

Would love to team with Sally on this, but shall be spending the evening with Pinkette irl. Maybe next time. Have fun !
