Quote:No I will talk about you all I want!NCSoft is NOT responsible for people's real life obligations or issues.
And by the way, those 'people' you're referring to? Welcome to my life the majority of the time. Please stop talking about me, I can speak for myself.
And no they aren't responsible for it except when people plan around an already established set of rules and they continually change those parameters egregiously for a solid month. Please don't quote the lame EULA 'we can shut down whenever we want' thing either.
I'm merely stating this is how people feel and they're not as out of line as some people are trying to imply. At all even. They paid for a service. They feel that service has faltered. As is frequently the case they want recompense. It's actually all perfectly normal and understandable but forumites have to to turn it into a huge drama.
I'm pretty sure over half of you are only having the argument for giggles too which is just shameful. -
Quote:Pft. Well Willy Wonka you are NOT.We had a customer who had us plasma cut a lacework band into a .25" aluminum plate as part of her sculpture. She thought it looked great until she saw it was visible from both sides of the plate. She wanted cutouts through only one side of the plate. As in you could look through the cutout plate of metal to whatever was on the other side, but only from one side.
So, how would your "the customer is always right" philosophy resolve a demand that involves violating conventional laws of spacetime? -
Quote:For some people it's not a few hours. For some people as everyone is blissfully ignoring this is most if not all of their playing time. They can feel whatever they like, but it doesn't mean they are entitled to compensation because they couldn't play a game for a few hours.
Some people can only play once or twice a week or month. -

I was serious. Lag is. It's actually likely to get worse.

Quote:Just assume everyone who's ever played any MMO ever just posted.Pretty much what the title says, post here if you've had lag. Post if you've started having it before or after i21, post if it's persistent or occasional.
I'm getting really, really P.O.ed. I think I've tinkered with every damn thing I can think of on my computer to make sure it's not me, and I've searched the forum to make sure others have been having the issue (sure enough I've found some threads). I've even gone so far as updating my video drivers and opening up the computer while its running to take a peek inside.
The lag remains a constant thorn. Sometimes it'll even stop and I get a few fun moments of clarity, but then the lag starts up all over again.
So, yeah... post here if you have lag. -
If you bought a six pack of coke and one was empty you'd expect it to be replaced. That's all these people are saying.
They paid money for product (in this case game time) and feel they aren't receiving said product.
They just want their coke. Even if it is marginal. In fact if it IS so marginal as some people keep harping on about then they should just do it, get it over with, and why should you care at all? You'll get it to and it won't impact you at all.
Now we all know it won't happen but there it is. -
Quote:I'm not entirely sure what this was all about honestly but just thought I'd say I think you'd be surprised how many people are closet base hobbyists. I'm always surprised by how many people spend an inordinate amount of time on their bases. -cough- Myself included.Do you really think they sold only 2000 of those packs? Ha ha ha. No. If they only sold 2000 of them, then they would never have made another.
You have got some serious blinders on, buddy. I know how it is; the idea that your group (whatever it may be) is the real, true supporters and what is good for them is good for the game... it's very appealing. It's also wrong. Base builders are no more the "most loyal" subscribers than marketeers, PVPers, or RPers.
Do you really believe that people don't develop attachments to their characters, as strong and stronger than your attachment to a base? You're as crazy as you seem to be if that's your honest belief.
Bases are not interesting to a large number of people, either.
Look. You really enjoy bases and they seem to be the best part of the game for you. You gotta understand that base building isn't the core game and won't ever get the kind of attention that other parts get. I wish the tools were better. I really do. I don't expect them to ever be made better, because once you step outside the circle of dedicated base builders, you realize that many (most?) players just don't care that much about bases. They are not going to bat an eyelash if their SG base is a perfunctory, ugly mess that has a couple rooms full of porters and some insp storage. They just don't value it enough to put forth the effort, so they are happy with function over form. That doesn't mean they are bad people or somehow less loyal than you are. It just means they enjoy and value different aspects of the game.
Anyhow, carry on. I'm sure the guys still insane. -
Quote:YesHow much of that is the fault of the devs and how much of that is the fault of the players? While I'll admit that a lot more could be done, even with the current engine, don't most players openly shun anything where positioning the enemy would be advantageous outside of simple herding?
-
Quote:I'm not actually one of these people I was merely pointing out that these insignificant times people are mocking is some people entire play time and for them they have lost a months worth of subscription due to it.If you could only play for 2-3 days this month, I am truly sorry, but that's life. I've had this happen to me many a time. If your schedule is so busy that you can really only play in those 2-3 day time slots, I don't really see how this is NCSoft's problem. Most people get more then 3 days off a month, and so they're catering to the majority.
-
Just to put this on the table, for some people the downtime has actually hamstrung their play for this month. For whatever reasons they only had so much time to alot and the downtime happened on the days they could play. So for them this isn't just a few hours of downtime, it's the whole month.
You would find this extremely frustrating as well. -

It's not my hangup, and I'm not the only one 'interpreting' it that way. I'd in fact suggest you are misinterpreting what you're doing.

Hanging out in the Magic store is an exploit.
I got caught. -

Quote:I demand a cheese sandwich in compensation. It has literally NOTHING to do with your post but I demand one anyway. Take that!Except that I whine about stuff that is, y'know, more controllable and/or actually broken.
Like;
-AE
-Praetorians having 65% base accuracy instead of the standard 50% which makes low levels in Praetoria a bloody nightmare
-the insane ambush spam in Praetoria
-bad writing in arcs and the railroading in the likes of Dr Graves
-the lack of revamps instead of new shinies, because someone still hasn't twigged that revamps are a two-in-one package, since you remove old tripe and get new shinies BY DEFAULT.
Not whining and kvetching about a damn physical server move which we're lucky took 9 and not 12 hours and they had the good courtesy to tell us when they are under NO obligation to do so.
What was your point again? -
Quote:Well I have to admit I didn't know there was one.Hyperstrike, I'm just wondering, do you know what the Multi-Quote option of this forum is? It's used so that you can reply to multiple posts within one reply. It's used so that you don't spam a thread with replies to single posts. It's used so that you don't have to waste so much time loading pages when you could just go down the page clicking a button, then replying to all of them at once. :/

Quote:Actually, you've been pretty much attacking anything said in this thread. Whether it's for compensation (which won't happen) or a simple email notice (which won't happen) or just being unhappy their time is cut short.I'm not doing either.
I'm neither being mean, nor going out of my way.
I'm simply saying something you dislike, and therefore don't want to hear. It doesn't mean that what I'm telling you is wrong or incorrect or offensive (or intended to be any of the above).
Sure, this intolerance of certain types of behavior doesn't always make me a lot of friends.
Ask me if I care. -
Quote:Cheese? For somebody who keeps bragging about how they were in customer service you dont half forget/dont read nothing. EVERYBODY is saying they know its essential, they just would like it done during NA primetime once in a while!
You cant be that self obsessed that your blinded by your own . . . . well whatever it is your blinded by -
If that's what you're taking from it maybe you should step back and reassess what you've been saying and getting from peoples messages. You won't. But that's moot.
-
Quote:No, your whole argument is false. Especially when you tried to back it up with 'dozens of accounts' BS.Keep telling yourself this. I'm sure it makes the attempt to convince yourself that you've "won" much easier.
Your NCSoft account is linked to one email account.
I gaurentee most people aren't blocking their MMO via spam filter on their primary email account.
You know all this, you're just being argumentative and trying to sound smart.
Nothing you've proposed is even a remotely good excuse to NOT have taken the 15 seconds it would have taken to send out an email. You're 'reasons' are quite frankly irrelevant. It's common courtesy. -
This is ridiculous and I'm sure he knows it. Just ignore him, at this point his pandering has gone into completely ludicrous territory.
