Then I guess you never bothered to read the contact's dialogue? Aside from the last mission, most of the story is there.

Doesn't matter if it wasn't your point, you opened it up and I dropped my 2 cents concerning it.
These arcs operate differently than standard content. I thought that was made obvious months ago. -
I don't see a change to the market coming just because you can earn two alignment merits in two days or four in six days if you change alignments.
It's 2 Reward Merits the first time through, then 5 after that. You can get a maximum of 40 merits in one week by doing both sides.
The rewards are not overblown when they're on a 1 week cooldown. -

I'd love to PvP again if I didn't have to build around DR -_-
-
I love First Ward, love Serene's teleport animation.
Though it can't be helped that there's a lot of sadness in these stories... -
Wow...that guy stole from a elderly man too? ******* scum...

the cap is 20, the minimum is probably 10.

Quote:Dr. Aeon is giving you the stink eye for trying to spoil the story, just so you knowThey could have put whatever they wanted back there. I gather for convenience (and size), they just put the same model so whoever this is would be, in essence, talking to himself. They could have put Nemesis, a Gear, Tyrant, or anything else that would fit behind that wall as a model just to mess with people.
*grumblegrumble*
But hey, it's not MY fault there's virtually nobody left at Paragon who knows how demofiles work! I should go down there and teach a seminar.

steam rolled it w/ my Kat/EA Broot on the second play through.
it's a decent story w/ good rewards, my only problem was escaping Oranbega...couldn't find the damn exit -
2 merits for completion, an additional 20 if you chose the merit multiplier reward, tasty

Quote:we'll always find something to take issue with, human nature and all thatNow where did the floating coin touch you?
Seriously, we're now complaining about a feature that telling new players "Hey Story Arc RIGHT HERE" as bad thing? You realize this is staple kind of thing of MMOs, something that people expect and would be criticized if it was absent when this game goes F2P. -
Quote:Did you read what I quoted? or at least the exchange between me and Sam? Because your comment pretty much implies that you didn't. Pop Tips haven't always been there, their somewhat recent inclusion doesn't change anything and I even gave a suggested how they could improve the new tutorial and starting arcs. That's your argument?
You can "learn" these, except for training, in 30 seconds spawning into Atlas Park.
Just because you can learn the same thing in Atlas, doesn't discount what you learn in the tutorial. There's a reason why you're given the option of skipping the tutorial instead of being forced to do it every time.
Take your arrogance down a few pegs and get back to me and try not to jump in the middle of a conversation. -

He's only doing the same thing as you Venture, being overly critical and analyzing every little thing under a microscope.
Everyone has their opinions, then there are those who will just give lip service to those that are popular, you are not the exception.
Just to get it out there, I'm not discounting your ability to write a better story than most, since writing isn't something everybody can be at least somewhat good at. -
got Mr. DJ, but I didn't get DJ

Quote:I do that too with setting up my UI, I like having 4 trays set up, 5 if I'm a MM, but I don't think of that set up as relative to what's happening in the game. I gave up on window/chat colors myself...Setting up my settings is always the first thing I do in every game I play, especially a brand new one. It's difficult to tell which button will be comfortable where until you actually get into the game, it's hard to judge how much what graphics settings will lag on your system, it's hard to judge what you want certain options to be.
And even now that I've set up default option files for everything, the game STILL loads the wrong window colours and STILL loads the wrong chat settings, so I have to go into options and fix them for every new character I make. And, thanks to some bug, now I also have to fix my window colours every time I restart the client. -
Quote:setting up your UI is not relative to what's going on in the gameThis a thousand times. Dropped right into the middle of the action and I am not ready to proceed until I adjust my UI, Powers, Vet powers, etc. We need to appear somewhere first where the action isn't happening all around us. Maybe a bunker where we have exit a door into the action after we've had a chance to do the UI/Powers setup thing that I'm sure everyone does with a new character.
if I remember what the comic book says before you join the battle...didn't you fall out of a building? or just escape it? -
yes, I do turn them off, but I'd still rather they'd not had been introduced in the first place lol

Quote:bah, you and your foreignnessnessMore American TV, you mean. I don't get that on local TV here, as it looks like a commercial. That's not to say we don't get US commercials, but they're usually dubbed over, swapped for completely different products and re-written, but I haven't seen this one.

Quote:My answer is to improve on what's there, the only thing that really needs to be done in the tutorial, is explain why you can't be defeated. We find out that the hospital has been destroyed, but that's about it. Once you leave the tutorial, they should have given you a different starting contact that would have explained the hospital, enemy danger levels, end/health and enhancements, since there's no real need to explain those in the new tutorial. After that, get introduce to Matthew Habashy, tweak Twin Shot's story a bit and let the game roll from there (I haven't rolled anything Villain side yet since the headstart began, so I don't know about that). So here's my question - in what way is it better to start a brand new player in the tutorial as opposed to starting him in the game proper? What knowledge would he be missing which he would have had otherwise?
The Pop Tips are an annoying QoL feature that I wish would go away... -
Quote:As far as I know, the Pop Help Tips are there if you decide to skip the tutorial, much like how Twin Shot sends you to Ms. Liberty to learn about training, even though it's a bit late.Let me reverse the question on you: What do you learn in the tutorial that you wouldn't have learned through Pop Help tips if you'd skipped it?
Quote:This is something the old tutorial didn't teach, either, as I've seen at least a few people get to level 6 without realising they could train up to get more powers.
