eh, I guess the "cool kids table" can be taken either way, I don't have much experience w/ that phrase outside of movies/television :3 which is used by both types of characters; the actual cool kids and the not-so-cool kids who use it jokingly
I forgot to add to that previous post that I'd support them bringing back the old contacts as long as they were updated. Though one other addition is probably a pipe dream...make Azuria look less incompetent w/ how often artifacts from her vault seem to be stolen... -

Apocalypse is a mutant who's been alive for millenia, can alter his gentic structure at the molecular level and has access to Celestial tech for the same amount of time. Yet, what has he actually accomplished in all that time? NOTHING. Dude couldn't even succeed in killing an infant (Black Manta's done that much and he's an Aquaman villain.)
Now, think about someone like Doom, Magneto or even the Red Skull. All of them have had far less time and resources than Apocalypse yet have achieved MUCH greater results.
If I had my way, Poccy would be a villain of the entire Marvel U, not just the X-Men. Now, he's pretty much a jobber so I can't respect him.

Most of the time when I set it up, One Thousand Cuts will knock down the target and by the time I get to the 'SWEEP' portion of the combo, the target is still under KB surpression from just being knocked down. -
Kinetic Combat vs. Crushing Impact, Touch of Death and to a lesser extent, Mako's Bite and Smashing Haymaker.
He has more of a case for ranged attacks.
On the less typical build, my Fire Tank is built for recharge and recovery/+end. -

The other thing that irritates me about the IO system is that everyone appears to believe it's optional. It isn't. Enemies may be balanced around SOs, but a major percentage of players have IOs. A character on SOs is markedly less effective at tank-maging their way through spawns than a character on IOs. Which means, if you want to compete in terms of survival and kill speed with other players, you have to use IOs.
I have no need to keep up w/ another player's kill speed, it's irrelevant to everything. -

I know some people are wary about gimmicks, but I'd think this would be a nice change for Assault Rifle.
Was thinking about this the other day, and the idea is a throwback to what I think were the alpha stages of the CoH targeting system, you aim at the enemy's head and you deal critical damage. I was thinking a variety of Critical, DoT and Slow. With the exception of Ignite and Flamethrower, each attack would have a chance to critical and/or provide a status effect. AoEs would have less chance to critical, but a higher chance to provide a status effect. Sniper Shot would provide a extremely high chance to crit as well as to lay in a status effect.
Pairing the set w/ Devices and picking up Targeting Drone would also increase your chances at achieving a critical hit.
While I'm not sure how practical this is for a change...just something to kick around. -
If IOs didn't happen, they should have repealed GDN/ED and unnerfed Weave.

Here's an interesting parallel. That other game also has 'super packs'. They coincidentally cost 80 points (and wow, their points cost the same amount as ours). They have exclusive costume pieces and powers in them. In testing, it was reported that it took one person 75 packs to collect all ten costume pieces. It took another 90 packs. One person went through 250 packs without getting the powerset.
$75. $90. $250.
That's not cheap by any reasonable standard.
I challenged Z to give us the exact odds for the packs, or commit to doing so when the odds were set. As I expected, this was ignored.
Is there any reason to believe that Paragon Super Packs aren't going to screw the customers?
