imdb - 7/10
rotten tomatoes - 74%
m'kay?
first really negative review I saw on imdb gave a 1/10, the opening line saying he's a huge fan of the franchise, didn't read farther then that, biased reviews hold no weight. -

I give it a 9/10 and will be picking it up soon as it hits dvd :3

I personally enjoyed Saving Private Ryan and find it to be one of those movies that I can watch several times over like the Shawshank Redemption, while couldn't sit through The Thin Red Line after barely managing it the first time.
Too busy remaking old movies
Heavy reliance on CGI
Shoving 3-D down our throats
Pushing PG-13 when many movies should be R (see most "horror" movies) just so they can make more money.
I will have to disagree w/ you about Iron Man 2 on some points, while Whiplash didn't have much screen time, we knew who he was and his motives, which were pretty simple, revenge for how his father was treated and exposing Tony Stark. -
free stuff, incarnates, and being able to pay my base rent w/out having to bother other people is currently enough for me to keep my sub as a Tier 9.

Quote:there was at least one one-liner in that trailer >.> roadkillThe first movies prime flaw was treating the Rider like he was Spiderman by giving him snappy one liners like when he grabbed the Earth elemental and said "Hey, dirtbag!" or when he faced the air elemental he said "Time to clear the air!"
This is GHOST RIDER, NOT SPIDER-MAN. Now this next movie looks like they are still going for PG-13 but judging by the action scenes they are going to push the boundaries of the PG 13 rating....that is GOOD. -

Quote:it's like when you buy a new phone, if you'd just have waited...*shakes fist*So glad I bothered to get the 25% off character slots when if I had just waited 2 weeks I could have gotten them for 50% off. That's a pretty crummy move. Pick a sale price and stick to it, quit jerking us around.
though I didn't know the server slots were already on sale >.> picked up the 5 packs -
I read that as he started playing in Issue 6 *shrug*

I personally wouldn't mind if they made a decent adventure story w/out turning it into a glorified action flick.
edit: We just had Immortals....*sigh* -
Oh boy, here comes another Hollywood abortion!

Quote:Originally Posted by Ak3miBack when I was at college I studied classical Civilization and ancient Greek so its sort of my topic and these films do butcher stories. But that's Hollywood you can't change it, luckily people who know anything about Greek mythology will use their noggin and realize the story has been brutally destroyed and wont recommend it to others and may not choose to go see it.
The original Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts, they were true pieces of film, which actually followed the story close enough.
Hollywood takes Greek Mythology like this, Dismantle it from having Deep meanings/very complex Hubristic and Animalistic themes/ deep culture references/very descriptive fights(if the story has any)/Gods which play with humans.Lastly women which are shown to be innocent, emotional and all that stuff.Obviously more would be involved but that will give you the gist of a average play/novel.
Then they assemble it to be this Action/ lots of hot women (shown to be fighters & disobey men(Some women would disobey there man, like Clytemnestra and Helen of troy but most woman wouldn't dare to))/More action and explosions(somehow)/Massive men with huge weapons(Some exceptions but overall it was very uncommon)/ Simplistic societies and the funniest is that Gods seem to have lost there actual meanings.
What I mean by this is that lets take Hera for example in many of the Greek plays and novels she is known to be very vengeful and very un-womanly and she hates Gods which interfere with human affairs, and usually has arguments with Zeus because of this. But to Hollywood she is shown to love her fellow Gods, and is apparently likes the idea of Gods helping Humans.
But lets be serious directors have been doing this for ages, not going to change so you might as well just enjoy it, and laugh at how incorrect the stories are.
I think the only time I was wrong about a film was LotR and Oh My God how I was wrong, but Peter Jackson actually had passion for the stories and I very much doubt that Louis Leterrier actually cares about the stories.
Sorry for the poor grammar and spelling very tired I just got off work -
Quote:Archery and Sonic Blast (not melee; Issue 5)This is how it works:
* Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning, Kinetic Melee and Electric Control, which are not available by default to new accounts, were officially features of Going Rogue.
* Time Manipulation was officially a feature of Issue 21 and is available to all VIPs.
* Dark Control, Darkness Assault and Darkness Affinity are officially features of Issue 22 and will be available to all VIPs.
* Beam Rifle, Street Justice, Titan Weapons and Staff Fighting are officially features of the Paragon Market, and must be purchased even by VIPs.
* All Power Set Proliferations were features of their respective Issues and did not require purchase by anyone.
Now, I see where the OP is coming from, saying "Hey now, why are all the melee sets in the Paragon Market?" But it's important to remember that the melee classes have had it kind of sweet in the long run anyway; there are not only more melee/defensive sets than any other variety, but the melee Archetypes have received more "new" sets over the years.
Just in the time since I've been playing (Issue 6) up through Going Rogue, the following Power Sets were added (in chronological order):
* Thugs (not melee; Issue 7)
* Electric Melee (melee; Issue 7)
* Electric Armor (melee; Issue 7)
* Dual Blades (melee; Issue 11)
* Willpower (melee; Issue 11)
* Shield Defense (melee; Issue 13)
* Pain Domination (not melee; Issue 13)
A pattern... Anyone else see it? As far as new Power Sets go, there has been a disproportional favoring of the melee classes, and it seems that the Paragon Market is favoring them as well, albeit behind a cash curtain. They've already had their day in the sun, as far as I'm concerned.
For a while there, I was worried all new Power Sets were going to be Market-only, but they put those fears to rest with the Controller and Dominator Dark sets. I doubt we'll never see another VIP-free melee set, but for now I wouldn't go so far as to say that we need another VIP-free melee set.
only if you hate spicy cabbage, you heathen! -

Increase drops for PvP IOs, the majority of those set bonuses are garbage to even warrant the crap tier drop ratio they have.
The only thing I want from them is damage procs on the uniques. The rest of the set can die in a fire. -
the first one might have been better off if they tweaked those body suits and called it The Centurions >.> POWER...EXTREME!!!
