Keep in mind that the left & right (arrow) keys are not actually movement keys, the are turn keys (as in left turn & right turn)
When using Gnarly's SoD it will ask you to which key do you want to use for forward - type in "up" without the quotes
backward - "down" without the quotes
I personally left the left & right movement keys to be "a" & "d" the default keys - (these are used for straifing), but you can change them to which ever ones you want them to be.
Have fun -

Was wondering. I have seen a couple of references to Gnarly's Speedondemand bind for hover/fly ... I have ran a search for it but it doesn't come up
Can anyone point me to that bind please?

Here is the thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...rt=35&vc=1
See the last page for the link and/or PM me for the 2.7 version if the link doesn't work.
Have fun. -
If the link in the above post doesn't work, send me a PM with your e-mail address & I will send you the 2.7 version of the file.
Have fun. -
No problem.
Thanks for trying, maybe in a future update it will be available. -

Really? Doh, got that from the bind command listing . . . thats a bugger.
/reply also doesn't work?
Both are in there . . . I'm at work now, Japan time, anyone else have any ideas?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah /reply doesn't work either.
The 2nd way you showed of doing it - opens the chat channel with the text in it, but when you press enter to send it, it come back with unknown commad /r -

Autoreply is the command that starts a tell to the last person you received one from. I think the auto can be taken off there huh.
You would have to make a bind for each phrase you want to use. I guess there are enough examples of that in this thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
I tried reply - coh didn't like the command. lol
If I start the reply, is there a way to paste the text I want in the message using a bind or macro?
Thanks
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh heh, I meant that it should just be reply, not auto reply.
You could do this:
shift+p "r <bgcolor #00000099><color LawnGreen><bordercolor LawnGreen> Sure I'll PL you, my fee is $50 US per hour, paid in advance. Would you like my account info?"
'r' is for reply chat, /r in game
That should work. If you want to just start with something, then finish it off, you could use this:
shift+p "show chat$$beginchat /r <bgcolor #00000099><color LawnGreen><bordercolor LawnGreen> So you want to be PLed huh, "
There is a max string length though, so watch out for that, only the recipient will see the bubble, so you could take the colour stuff out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks a lot! I'll try it tonight when I get home from work.
I also like your example replies!

I was looking to create a few binds with "canned" responses to some tells that I have been receiving increasingly more frequently.
However the autoreply command says it takes 0 arguements. Any suggestions on how to do this?
Thanks.

Just in case anyone was wondering, the SoD seems to work fine with the suppression changes made (at least the way I use them).
-
I believe that someone was working on that, but nothing final was ever posted.

No one is trying to ram these binds down your throat. They are just here for you to try... and I do recommend that you try them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh man I hope I didn't give you that impression.
I appreciate your work on these, I really do.
It's just that I am not that good at the logic end of binding (history major) and if something screws up it takes me forever to get it fixed.
I have tried to of the binds in ths thread (the first two mentioned) I couldn't get the first to work at all. After three hours of attempting to find my error, I gave up and tried a simpler one. That one worked but the controls were sluggish and it would occasionally just stop working. I am working my way through this post to find one that I like, but it is a loooooong thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
The original binds in this thread are way out of date - they always locked up if you hit 2 movement keys at the same time - not fun.
Wasabi Joe & Gnarley (over months) came up with full versions (different sets of binds that is) that eliminated most of the problems - and the few that are still there are quickly fixed with lcontrol+r (to reset the binds).
I highly recommend these binds - I have been using them for all my characters - even the non-flyers (just so I can have sprint on whenever I move & not have to worry about turning it off) - since July.

I keep hearing about SoD, but I can't find a link to anything about it that works anymore in this thread. What did SoD do and how do I get it?
[/ QUOTE ]
I did actually find it on a fan website last week when I was searching around for some info, but I can't remember which one.
See my post from above - I have SoD v 2.7 - send me a PM with your e-mail address & I will send it to you. This version is/was the most stable (in my opinion), but does not have all the different configurations (such as having fly without hover).
Just LMK if you need it - I will send it out when I get home from work. -

He's busy with Real Life[tm] at the moment, and actually away on a business trip, but he has offered to take a look at his binds once he gets back and maybe update them to use the the new toggleon toggleoff functionality - this will simplify them a lot, and should make them more robust too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Any updates on this? I have some limited experience with writing binds, but I have no idea what these toggleon/off commands are... never seen them before. Can someone point me to a place to read up on them? Gnarly's binds work pretty well for me, but if these toggle commands could fix the minor problems I experience, I would like to give them a try.
Also, I have a copy of the SOD bas file, and have modified it to generate Combat Flight/Energy Flight binds for Peacebringers. If anyone needs this, PM me with your email address, and I will send it to you. You will need a copy of Liberty Basic to run it, as I will not be sending a compiled version.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure the toggleon/toggleoff commands will work too well with SoD - with my limited (very) use of them (toggling on CJ/TI/Inv & Uny), using the press/release method, sometimes some of the toggles would not activate & I had to switch to the single down press to make sure that they activated everytime.
It seemed to me that toggleon/toggleoff are slower commands.
Also, if anyone needs the SoD zip file, I have the 2.7 version, which to me was more stable (but with less options) than the 3.0 version. Send a PM to me with your e-mail address & I will forward it as soon as I get home. -

hmmmm, currently, I use the numpad for tray 2 and the numkeys for tray one
having a 3rd tray wouldn't suck as far as I'm concerned, I already have to have some powers set to easy to reach keys like Y and C or B, ect...
I'm down for a 3rd row. Just reprogram to be numpad for tray 2 or 3 and there you go. Makes sense to me anyway.

A 3rd tray would be great. -
I had thought that Rage would be fixed/tweaked with today's update...

Ack, don't nerf the new bosses! They're awesome.

No, boss fights now are a battle of "can I put down this boss before my blue bar expires" or "can I put down this boss before it hits me and takes me out in one shot" depending upon your AT and build.

Tell me about it - I was doing fine against Ubelmann with my blaster until he closed to melee range & I didn't have any room to get up in the air...let's just say a trip to the hospital ensued after he one-shotted me.
I don't mind being beaten (well actually I do), but getting hit once & going down is a little much.

Here is the link for the SoD: http://www.jim.cavanaugh.net/sod.htm
and of course the link for the root directory is: http://www.jim.cavanaugh.net -

Not having tested it, but just from past experience, you might have the break of "What happens if I press 2 movement keys at the same time!" Which will break the binds & put you in perma-movement/fly mode...This was a frequent problem back during the 1st 2 dozen pages of this thread.
Edit: I'll see if I can give it a test run tonight & let you know. -
[ QUOTE ]
Just curious...anybody out there planning to update Gnarly's speed-on-demand (since the original author/maintainer has apparently given it up and moved on to other games) to take full advantage of the Kheldian form? It would be kind of cool to be able to choose keys for Kheldian human, nova, and dwarf forms, and to have the flight powers associated with the particular forms kick in on demand. (Though this becomes less of an issue if the Lightbringer's human and nova form flight powers have the same names...do they?)
SOD might also need to be updated to take full advantage of the new toggleon/toggleoff commands, too...
[/ QUOTE ]
Since I am nowhere near lvl 50, I don't know if the flight/hover names for the Kheldians are different...
Anyone have an answer to this question?
