WHAT??? All of my hard earned bind's have dissapeared!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
I sure hope everyone backed up their binds locally...Ouch. Just ouch.
[/ QUOTE ] I didn't discover the bug until after I did a /Bind_save
[/ QUOTE ]
In spite of their instructions it is better to do a /bind_save_file C:\<pathname> and then a /bind_save_load C:\<pathname> which gives you more control. I use a different bind file for each of my alts.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree - If you have a physical bind file created for each of your characters, you do not seem to have this problem. This only seems to effect binds that are created using the /bind command in the chat box. -

There is a keybind bug currently - see this post:
Keybinds not working thread
It sucks -
[ QUOTE ]
I've seen a lot of complaints about this so I brought it up before we went live. We changed it so certain toggle effects fade out but it didn't make it into live. Dark Armor shouldn't be so bad anymore once this gets updated. The same goes for Mud Pots.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please say this applies to the sound Shadow Cloak makes on Warshades - I usually have to pop a couple of Excedrin before I play my WS most nights. -

Not correct. Using "LCTRL" with another key will not work. As soon as you press th <LCRTL> button, it will try to fire off the bind. "CRTL+ENTER" will work though.
Try:[ QUOTE ]
CTRL+ENTER afk Chatting$$beginchat /send "Liberty Badgers" ($name, Level $level $archetype)
[/ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ]
LCTRL may not work properly as a chord, but LCONTROL does. I use it for some of my binds.
[/ QUOTE ]
What I think he is saying is that using LCTRL+(KEY) = RCTRL+(KEY) = CTRL+(KEY) - when using these keys (alt, shift, control) as a chord they revert to their base & do not differentiate between left & right.
That is, you cannot have a bind LCTRL+(KEY) & a different bind RCTRL+(KEY) because they both default to CTRL+(KEY).
This is the same whether you use LCTRL or LCONTROL.
You can use LCTRL & RCTRL as non-chord keys to make different binds. -

Very close
The oly thing you forgot was to specify "say"... i.e.
/bind t "say Bity Kitty claws and scratches and begins to teleport group $target to her location.$$powexec_name Recall Friend"
This will say the text in your active chat window.
[/ QUOTE ]
You may want to change 'say' to 'team' - if you are use 'say' on a global or broadcast channel, your message will be pumped out to everyone. - I refuse to say why I know this happens! -

IStoryarcs are WHY I play. I avoid TF/SFs because its too easy to outlvl content while in them. (I go back and do TFs RSK'd). I avoid teaming up when I know i'll lvl too fast. (love being a brute). Im in love with the fact that nearly EVERY contact in CoV has storyarcs! But its content that I want to experience...and (call me greedy) but I want to experience it all!
[/ QUOTE ]
Have to agree. The content is the reason I play.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same here.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes - I agree!
(at lvl 12, I only have Kalinda's & Vendetti's Story Arcs completed & am working on the Radio) -

Try going to the options screen and selecting an option that you don't use. Click on the button, and see what name CoH assigns to it. Use that name for your bind.

I'll pop in here so you guys have a new target.
The original Task Force Datamine took 3 months to finish. That was to go over 2 months worth of data.
We now have 18 months worth of data. We looked for a more effecient solution, but our estimates still come out at 2 years to datamine and get you your badges.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well a couple of things about your statement:
Shadow Shard TFs did not start until Issue 2 (lowering the 18 month range) & are limited to lvl 40+ characters (greatly lessen what needs to be datamined).
Moonfire TF did not start until Issue 3.
Also I have not seen a response as to why we cannot petition for the badges if we have the specific dates & times they were completed - only that we can't. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also - after much pushing and shoving - we were told that there will NOT be data mining for TF badges. So if you did a TF before I5 - when I5 goes live you will not get a badge for it auto-magically.
I know - it stinks - I'm sorry about that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Stinks isn't the word I would have used...
...saying I have to do the Moonfire TF again is one thing (as it can be knocked out in 2 hrs), but saying I have to do the hell that is the Explorers & Exploiters TF again really bites!
How about petitioning? I have a log of the dates & times of all the TFs that I did that currently do not offer badges. -
Anytime!
I use that one all the time, but I have it set to rctrl. -

i wanna bind super jump and combat jumping to the key lctrl so they alternate between the powers... how do i do that?
[/ QUOTE ]
/bind lctrl "powexec_toggleon Super Jump$$powexec_toggleon Combat Jumping" -
[ QUOTE ]
All right, this bind works GREAT for me! I love it! I have just one question - how come I can't get it into a macro button?
The macro format is: /macro <name> <command>
So I input: /macro Flover "/bind_load_file c:\coh_bind\powers.txt"
And when I click the macro button, it tells me /bind_load_file is not a valid command. But when I manually enter the command as I typed it for the macro button, it works just fine. What have I done wrong?
[/ QUOTE ]
I do not think you need the "/" in front of bind_load_file -

Please datamine all the other TFs, particularly Calvin Scott which can't be redone.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no badge for Calvin Scott.
[/ QUOTE ]
Is there a reason why there is no badge for this Task Force? -
Perhaps the datamining isn't complete, but when I logged in with Mr E-Man, he received to badges, but none for the completed Shadow Shard TFs or the (now removed) Calvin Scott TF.
Will we need to petition for these? -
Hi
I think that the Rise of the Vampyri start mission is different than what you have listed on the site.
I got the arc going last night, however I didn't think to do a screen shot. The first mission says something to the effect, "The Council is planning something, go to this base & defeat the leader. Keep your eyes open, maybe we can find out what the Council is planning."
The start mission you have listed is the 2nd mission of the arc.
Sorry I didn't get the screen on this. -
Are the link bonuses valid in all forms? or just human form?
I notice that the Dark Sustenance icon disappears when I shift to Dark Nova. -
The Fan on the Comcast Homepage has a feature on City of Villains today.
I'm at work with no sound, so I have to wait to get home to actually see/hear the video. -
I have to say that your site is a great help, especially when trying to get the right mission to start an arc or to any of the badge missions.
A definite 5 stars are in order. -
The original post from this forum is not the speed on demand that actually works. See the above post by StaticDrifter for the link to the Gnarly's Speed on Demand binds.
The program sets up a series of binds that does a number of things:
If you are on the ground - when you are standing still sprint is not activated, but as soon as you hit a movement key sprint is automatically activated. Releasing the movement key turns off sprint.
If you are in the air not moving you are hover mode, but as soon as you hit a movement key you automatically switch to fly mode. Releasing the movement key switches you back to hover mode.
The movement keys can be bound to what ever keys you currently use. My personal layout for my flyers is:
rcontrol: puts me into fly mode
rshift: put me into ground mode
up (the up arrow): moves forward
down (the down arrow): moves backward
a: moves left
b: moves right
left (the left arrow): turns left
right (the right arrow): turns right
f: follow mode
r: auto run or auto fly
numpad0: downward movement (for fly)
spacebar: upward movement (for fly) & jump (for ground mode)
control+M: for mode switching
control+r: to reset the binds (if the binds get messed up or you find yourself in continuous movement, pressing control+r sets you straight)
Here is a copy of the link from the above post. If for some reason it doesn't work, you can send me a PM with your e-mail address - I have the 2.7 version of the binds I can send you (it doesn't have as many options as the 3.0 version, but they work fine).

Here's the link from which I downloaded Gnarly's SoD bind:
Nilt's City of Heroes Resources
Hope this works
[/ QUOTE ]
Also, you should create a directory on your computer for all of your binds. I use c:\cohbinds - when using the bind_load command, it doesn't like long directory names like the default c:\program files\city of heroes\binds (it will come back with an error message saying (I think) too many arguments.
I hope this helps. -

I was looking to create a few binds with "canned" responses to some tells that I have been receiving increasingly more frequently.
However the autoreply command says it takes 0 arguements. Any suggestions on how to do this?
Thanks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Taking a wild stab at this one, but perhaps this will work:
/bind <key> "autoreply$$beginchat " Get a job punk!" "
Not sure if the second command (beginchat) will reset the chat input or if it will append to the previous (autoreply) command. Give it a shot and see if it works...I'm at work so can't test it atm.

Thanks, I'll try it tonight - I don't think I used that variation as of yet.
