Failure to launch tonight

Next week will also be a Saturday niight try.

Just wanted to say I will be around tonight to see if we have any interest in running the MoSTF - I know a lot of people are deep into all the I-12 goodness (the Wednesday night run was a bust due to lack of people).

We were a bit oversold this past weekend (I know Silverx sent me a global wanting to join in as well), so I didn't even announce it on Freedom Badge.

Well another run and another failure.

We did make it past the Tree room this time around, but Dr Aeon did us in this time...

...and I will take the blame for the devastation...(but I did learn something new as well)

Mistake #1: I did not make the plan clear for Dr Aeon - too many people rushed up & got into melee range & were promptly nuked.

Mistake #2: We might have been OK with mistake #1 if I didn't need to learn this valuable lesson - Do not use the temp power on Dr Aeon until after he puts up his shield. Last night I used the temp power as soon as I got near him & then he put up his shield & was still invulnerable...that temp power takes a long time to recharged...thus allowing him to lay waste to 3 or 4 people.

*sigh*

Finished in 2 hrs 9 mins - we played it loose at the end (aggroing the four AVs at once & originally not taking out the Flier) & had very bad implementation on our first Recluse attack (we regrouped & killed the flier) - things went smoothly from that point on.

Had fun - next try will be Wednesday night (see the other thread).

Next weekend run will be on Saturday Night.

Hey Hell - if you can bring you Ice/Kin this time around - I promise next time you tank...

If we have (and it appears that we will, based on responses here & in game messages) more than 8 people show up - I will (hopefully) choose a team that will give us a good shot at success. I don't want anyone to have hard feelings. My suggestion is to show up or at least send me a global to let me know that you are on & available.

If you do not make the team this time, I will continue to run these every (or at least most) weekends for the foreseeable future. (Next week will be Saturday Night 5/24)

Also the Wednesday night runs will continue as well. (see the other MoSTF thread by Rfactor)

The important thing is to have fun while we are doing this.

Yes - I started this thread sometime after I read your post. Most of what you said I knew already, however I do appreciate the input.

When the death occured in the tree room on this latest run, the person was off to the side, while I was directly in front of the tree - not actually sure why he was targeted & we did not have a bubbler.

It is really just a matter of with your suggestion we would "build a team" for the MoSTF as opposed to what we have been doing, which is "populate a team" for the MoSTF out of the available players on at the time.

I am also not the type of person to turn away someone based on what AT/Powerset they happen to like playing. I will turn away someone if I have personal experience with them being a crappy team player. (can't wait for player notes)

I hope that if I had an over abundence of people show up, I would try to create a team that I believed have a greater chance at success.

Continuing from Rfactor's thread - I will be forming MoSTF attempts on weekends (either Friday or Saturday night) starting at 11-11:30pm eastern/8-8:30pm pacific.

What is the MoSTF? It is a badge for completing the Statesman Task Force with the restrictions of No Deaths & No Temp Powers allowed (which also includes Vet Reward Powers).

The Team: I am not a stickler for having the optimal team. That said, I do believe we need a good mix to be successful. But I will still give it a try even if the team has absolutely no chance at the MoSTF (like with that 4 blasters & 1 ws team a couple weeks ago).

I will mainly be running this on my Tank (Mr E-Man) to start, but if someone else would like to tank, I can switch to my blaster or scrapper.

First Attempt:

Friday, May 16 @ 11-11:30pm eastern/8-8:30pm pacific.

I will definitely be getting MS Voice Command - what you described has happened to me as well (not for 20 minutes), but even a couple of tries can be annoying.

And with MS Voice Command, you can manually dial the phone by voice as well. (no need to look at the numbers at that point).

Hey I understand what you are saying. It is definitely not for everyone.
