Quote:My skin crawled, it actually crawled. I've heard that expression before, but I've never actually experienced it.Surgeons Canvas
Had she once had a name? She assumed she had, though she could no longer remember it. That had been before the doctor. That had been before her... changes. She did not know if her skin had always been so albino pale and surely she had not always had so many teeth or such a long jaw. Her blood was yellow and that couldn't be right. Then there was the matter of her lower body; where her thick white skin only appeared in patches showing the dark red meat of the muscle beneath to be seen. As though she weren't quite... finished yet. She didn't look like the other humans she saw, though she was assured she had been born one. But the doctor told her she was beautiful; that she was his living work of art.

I just figured it was cause you like changing things in your profile settings. Forum name, avatar, signature pic, signature links...Oh and form rep to turn on and off, something else to play with. Seriously, if I had a nickel for every time you made a change...
And now a line of smilies to show I'm not trying to be mean...

Quote:I'm Turning My Rep Off! - Turned off my rep when I was at #1 in the player rankings. Here's why. If you keep reading, you'll find out why it's on again later in the thread.
Why it's what? -

Quote:Is it bad that I know who Sir Paul McCartney is... but have never of this "MC Frontalot"? The name sounds like somebody who was in realty working on waterfront properties listened to MC Hammer on a regular basis.
Quote:Sir Paul, yes. From one of the Greatest rock bands.
Sir... whozywhatzit?? /e scratchhead
To clarify I am not saying that MC Fronalot is in any way, shape or form comparable to Paul McCartney, and comparing his music to the Beatles would be like comparing a lit match to the sun.
Nor am I suggesting that anyone here should know who he is. Im not a big fan and I dont work in his marketing department, how popular he is, is his problem not mine. (Although to learn more the documentary Nerdcore Rising, chronicling his 2007(?) US Tour is currently available through the watch now feature on Netflix)
Im just saying that to know who MC Frontalot is, to the point of recognizing his lyrics on sight, and not knowing they are a reference to and a direct quote themselves from the Infocom classic text adventure ZORK is akin to people knowing who Paul McCartney is and having no knowledge of the Beatles. -
Its a joke right? It has to be a joke. They cant possible be serious, can they? Over on the thread where we were re-educating Mr Silverado I got some neg rep for my last post. This is perfectly reasonable and to be expected. Im actually surprised I havent gotten more. But the comment that came along with it. It..and I...but Im sorry I just have no words for that level of stupidity. Here, see for yourself:
Quote:What? I mean What?11-07-2009 06:51 AM Horrible quotation of MC Frontalot in your Location
How could someone who even knows who MC Frontalot is be daft enough to attribute it to him and not back to its original source? Who ever left this comment needs to have their internet connection severed and their video card confiscated until they have played through Infocoms entire catalog.

Who ever said we liked him? We are a proud little server, and we have just as much protective pride in our "less reputable members" as we do in our Triumphs. Like or dislike does not enter into it.
