Very well deserved youngman! - a hearty congratulations!.
That was a brutal fight amidst those burning woods but we came back again and again and finished it with minutes to spare. Great team-work everyone!.
Congratulations Big-Red-Git!
a very stylish ding indeed. -

very well done - I'm not brave enough to try the art of Poetry, so well done, Valiant sentiments. -
What a wonderful time that was, goes down in my book as most enjoyable Hami raid yet for me, great teams, great humour throughout, fantastic spectacle to see so many familiar faces!, Vets and relative newcomers all joining forces!, and to think... i forgot it was on this Sunday evening.... So grateful for the invite!, not only because I actually got a Hami this time which fitted and was pretty useful to me, but more than that - I wouldn't of missed it for the world..even if there were no Hami's/Xp/badgeypoos at the end.
Absolute Classic!.

It's a VERY strong alcoholic drink.
Should only be drunk in VERY small quantities straight.
Which explains why I nearly ended up with alcohol poisoning and staying drunk for a solid 48 hours after downing half a bottle with a friend once while at a lan.
Whoopsie!
Edit: After checking ole Wikipedia myself: You're meant to dilute it???

That explains a whole awful lot

Sar dear, ummm...*bit worried* you do know Absinthe is reportably able to induce a permanent psychosis of sorts don't you?, I believe thats how Van Gogh went a bit do-lally!, as long as you don't go lopping off ears at lan parties etc
*As GG hinted -that most definately would explain the crazed genius behind the comic strip -
eWWW!- The detail! the graphic detail
Its very atmospheric, personally I like the narrative to hint at the action or fate of the badguys, I think that would work well with your character as it seems Tygerboy is a bit of an Anti-hero(correct me if i'm wrong on this).
Perhaps a little less emphasis on splintered noses and disintergrating kneecaps (as much as i like baddies to get whats coming to them) maybe Tygerboy is such a badass that you only need to hint at the fact (and nudge the narrative towards) of Tygerboy entering a room full of enemies and you just know he dislikes them and its all going to kick off and its not going to be pretty, and then cut to the devastation left in his wake - see if the readers imagination filling in the details inbetween is a just as (or more) effective story-telling ethos.
I would say in a kind of the 'less is more' theorum.
I imagine there are few things in a writers arsenal as devastating as using the readers own imagination to amplify the story.
That said i enjoyed it.
Well done!
*applauds -
Indeed, will read it later on this evening after work Tygerboy.
P.s: Welcome to the forums -
Congratulations!

.
Actually I was about to post and say isn't that just everyones dirty little secret.... If left alone in a room like that and an empty Godzilla/Barney the Dinosaur cossie - comon, what guy wouldn't if he could get away with it!
*Grrraaaw *stomp *stomp *swing tail Grrrrraaaaawwwww ! -

I'm looking for a graphics tablet as working with PS and a mouse is really starting to get to my wrist. What tablet would you recommend? I would preferably like something wireless with a good range so I can set it up as an easel - oh and hopefully I won't have to re-mortgage to buy one
[/ QUOTE ]
Pressie dear!.
For the record you can pick the smallest ones up for £38+vat. Would thoroughly recommend you get at least A4 if pennies will stretch.
Considering how many hours you will be working on it, it pays as ergonomically you will notice the difference comfort -wise and with Wacom it will last you years.
[edit] Just re-read and noticed you said you wanted to set it up as an easel? - the only one you will be able to do that with aka the 'Cintiq' is a tad expensive and out of the price range of most mortals including me, its also a bit pricey to have perched anywhere but a nice stable desk.
I have tried it at a trade fair and in my opinion its wildly over-rated, So much tactile feedback you take for granted from the pencil/pen on paper is (obviously) missing.
It takes a huge amount of practice to get anywhere near as competant when doing a drawing digitally from scratch.

Thankyou Carnifax,
........and yes an unintentional almost comedic 'Godzilla' was done on the Metropolis, but not by mebut by a hapless family member and not before i had finished with the photography either! - I had to rebuild in an effort not unlike rebuilding Faultline lol *grrrrr
...and insane?...Yes, believe me the thought crossed my mind more than once believe you me - still does!.
-
Thankyou Sar
I used Right-Hand V.1, its an old app but has served me well in the past.
Largely Staedler Pigment Liners of various widths on Comic Board paper.
Goldline or Windsor and Newton Bristol Board Extra smooth surface drawing pads. 250gsm.
I keep a little toe tipped in the ancient arts as well as trying to keep up with Photoshop/painter.
I would say my drawings are usually a fusion of the two as (in my opinion) there is still a mysterious 'X' factor the drawing gains in doing the lineart on paper first. -
VERY well deserved Sar!
Congratulations!
(P.s: only 31 eh? - you spring-chicken you!) -
Thank-you Max!, most kind, re;the sky - yes I just dropped a sample in to get an idea of what a sky would look like.
Seeing as though the whole exercise is to test my non-reliance on existing imagery, I will be drawing the sky.
The coloured version is just a very very basic test of applying some kind of colour to the piece. -
Ok, thought you'd like to see some work in progress.
Actually this post is not so much about the half finished artwork I am about to show you, but in actual fact the bizarre way I got round the problem.
I am attempting (In a foolhardy way of challenging myself) to do an animated teaser trailer - the kind of thing everyone is watching with the Spidey 3 trailer, bursts of fading second long animations and CoH illustrations end to end.
I need to do approximately 70 of these to do for the sequence I have in mind. I think the majority of the shots will be Illustration but several key shots I am hoping to animate to a limited degree.
Anyway, So i decide i should challenge myself. Being a designer i thought i should try a little bit more Illustration as a core skill as in my opinion designers get very lazy relying on others for images.
I am a fan of Genndy (CloneWars/Samurai Jack)Tartovsky, Alex Ross, Jonaro Kindred and the Marvel comicbooks like Spiderman New Avengers and X-men Phoenix Endsong and was feeling a bit inspired.
Anyway so I put pen to paper on what basically is going to be my first ever comicstrip art as I have the sequence of frames all planned out.
I start out with frame 4 (a street scene downtown somewhere like Talos Island) because it is a complicated one and I needed to see if I was capable of drawing it basically.
Of course Mummy isn't satified with NORMAL perspective....
oOooh Noooooo! - I insist on (4)multi point fish-eye perspective for my first comic Illustration *doh.
With the scene in my head i sat down evening after evening tearing my hair out through frustration trying to draw this thing, and it just not looking right time after time, slowly disappearing under a sea of scrumpled up paper and tired of my head spinning trying to work it out i took a leaf out of Alex Ross' book. Use still life to help you!.
If my minds eye couldn't quite handle all the perspective calculations....
If in short.... I couldn't go to the Metropolis - then the Metropolis was bloomin well going to come to me.
Ask permission before doing this boys and girls,
Before you decide to turn.....
your
Lounge
into
a
Metropolis
Family were not impressed they couldn't watch tv that evening because a cardboard City had sprung up out of nowhere
Anyway, after taking lots of photos,it did help with the perpective while drawing so now i have a load of photographic reference to help me if i get stuck.
Be gentle Littleones - Its my first attempt at a comic-book style Illustration so its still very rough.
Downtown:
The Lineart
Filling in basic basic colour and dropping in a sample sky to get an idea about lighting.
So what do you think?, should i continue...or has Mummy bitten off more than she can chew?
