Reading between the lines I think basically what has happened is the business had grown to accomodate the demand incorporating some other artists that had different styles (like the artist who did KnightStalkers charasmatic piece) and then some artists have left the business leaving him with a larger workload - overextended himself as it were.There is a halt on the artwork queue at the moment.
I get the impression from the latest blog updates that this is what has possibly happened, they are also advertising for artists on the main site.
I wish him well with the business but clearly the cogs are not running smoothly at the mo. Personally I think he needs to delegate the business and get back to what he obviously loves doing - the artwork , hard to do I know when operating a small business.

Tim Curry utterly owned that role, like nothing i've seen before or since. He's pretty funny in most stuff he does, even the stuff where he parodys villains in The Naked Gun movies or that turkey 'Charlies Angels'.
In 'Legend' he shone through all those prothetics like they weren't even an issue, and the filter they put over his great vocal acting only enhanced what was an astonishing performance.

It pretty much translates as the same in all but name Villains-side, but Hero-side it would be this for you Charnel:

I have no objection to a light-based set, ... in fact the more powersets the better and this sounds like a good powerset in concept.

The only thing I will add is remember Sonic's visual sfx were toned down because they were giving their owners eyestrain/headaches/migraines - In that same ethos I would expect a light-based set to try (somehow) to avoid too much strobing and flashing for those sensitive to epilepsy or migraines. Just a thought.

You are correct if the IP is clearly a different product, stories or in a different context, however If both 'Legend' names were relating to two different superheroes I think you would find that would be a red rag to a bull for most company lawyers.
That said its hard because no-one owns the name legend as its a historical description as opposed to a made-up name such as Gazerbeam.

Its all one big grey area I'm afraid, I'm sure if you managed to make your Gazerbeam character anywhere near being an international hit (especially with the U.S market) - you'd hear from Disney Lawyers in a heartbeat.

I'm also interested in the IP mess that is Champions, There are copyrighted character names in there (eg: Ironclad) that are Marvel IP, as well as DC concepts (Dr.Silverback = DC's Gorilla Grodd) in all but name) that are going to be analysed very carefully by Marvel and DC's army of legal eagles.

Edit: The concept of a hyper-intelligent Gorilla Super-villain was DC's...Their Gorilla Grodd's first appearance was in The Flash #106 May 1959 - slightly ahead of Champions 1981 debut then.

Thankyou to everyone who dropped in to battle in Recluses Victory 22nd June.
Throughout the day it was fun and into the evening I think it was 10+ each side at some point. It actually felt like a Warzone for once because of the sheer quantity of Heroes and Villains in there.
Yes there was a little too much camping outside of bases going on, but none-the-less great fun, remarkably civil and good natured and nice mix of pvp veterans and newcomers.

A special shout out to Deadly Juli, who.. although convinced she was awful and a [censored] pvp'er due to lack of funds to build a decent sets build - actually managed to last longer in mass brawls than some people I've seen with sets. So well done Juli.

I too would like to nominate Psygon, who just missed out in Januarys Creative Genius for 'Psygons Pictures' in my opinion.
This effort is thoroughly deserving, I love the style of the Vector artwork.

HiiiiYaargh! - will definately be blowing the dust off my (slightly borked) lv50 MA/SR for some kung-fu shenanigans when this goes live, thats quite a bit shaved off the animation times when put together in an attack-chain - should be quite ferocious

If its a direct port of the Controllers version its great fun!, AoE hold they stand there coughing clutching at their necks and the volcanic mounds spewing gasses make a lovely hissing noise, throw that down at a chokepoint ontop of mobs in quicksand and they are going nowhere.
