I can see a lot of work went into that Self-destruct emote!, absolutely fantastic! the warning sounds, the steam expelling from the suit and a mushroom cloud that puts Atomic Blast to shame. Absolutely gorgeous!
The H.U.D is nice the way it animates into view from the back of the head, not keen on the pointy nose bit but maybe it was designed to emulate some of the costume mask features like the Vanguard mask.
I wish when you zoomed into first person mode you got an internal view from the H.U.D with little animated vectors, graphs, targeting and random specs like you do on the inside of Ironmans helmet - bit beyond the current game engine/coding though i suppose.
The robot dance emote is amusing, <laughs> I wondered if it was going to be The Robot, heheh - brilliant!.
I wonder if the tiny toon version is X2 speed.
Now for the multitude of cossie bits, I'm interested so far. -
No, the banquet idea just really appealed to me, I don't know whether its because of my love for food, the idea of everyone sitting down for a nice meal together or that after a few days without proper food (medical reasons) I am absolutely starving!, either which way the banquet idea really appealed to me!.
As far as 'Sour Grapes' go, not in the slightest, I'd gauge my feelings at 'mildly annoyed at their presumption.'
I do find the automatic prioritizing and spoiling of a U.S community over its other western MMO audiences particulary selfish though, but thats just typical of U.S companies in my opinion.
I also agree with the sentiments of Stasiseque about our more community centered get-togethers being better and Extremus' of ours being less of a press-release event. I just wish the EU.team had the support of the parent company both in organisation and funding something for us. -

So thats what the new forum software was for! -
Other than a direct comparison of what U.S players got at an expo and we didn't, My point is - when it comes NCwest serving their western audience in equal proportions...(like a lot of American companies)... there is considerable room for improvement, thats about as diplomatic as I can put it.

Damn!, there was a banquet at Omega Sektor? ...bother!, missed that one!.

Damn! We had to travel multiple states and pay flight costs? ...bother! Missed that one!
[/ QUOTE ]
Heheh, Internal flights are an awful lot cheaper in the U.S in comparison to EU.flights.
I would hope if NCwest put on a massive annual EU.based-event for the EU.community, that a lot of people would take time out to attend. -

Yeah - but the US felt the same after hearing about this years Omega Sektor.

Seriously though, I hope NCwest gets behind providing some support for our EU.events. Since centralisation of the company for the western audience has been decided upon I hope we will see some improvements. Unfortunately to date NCNC seem very willing to put on an great expo as long as they don't have to travel very far. *Note: this is not a direct critique of NCNC in the past but American companies in general as Cryptic are also putting on lots of events (as part of existing Conventions and seperately) for the burgeoning Champions-Online market in their backyard but absolutely nothing EU.side. -
The surviving EU.team should be getting support for both the organisation and funding as far as I'm concerned. There is no excuse for the shocking disparity between the events offered to the U.S and the complete lack of over here in the EU.
I have to say after reading the U.S Hero-Con description I felt completely taken for granted as a subscriber contributing to NCwest's banquet. Not amused. -

Attend the banquet dinner, with entertainment and exclusive upcoming announcements.

Quite honestly I would jump at a chance of something like this being attended by you all of you the EU.players. -
See you again one day I hope Spidermonster.
-
My question to NCsoft is that now that you have canned a fair chunk of our EU.community team, and players are rallying round to provide for each other....
Where are NCsoft?, what are they going to do for the EU.community? You give U.S players Hero-Con!, will we be seeing Hero-Con over here at any stage?, ...in fact are you going to do anything for us your supporting EU.subscribers? -

If an entire costume set was only available for the male or female body types the outcry would be huge.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed the pun there for you.
Re. topic: I understand, and sympathise... but if it was either this option or not at all because of engine restrictions. I'd pick the latter. -
Oh I get about the animation issues and clipping (although Cyborgs have the benefit of being able to run around in the buff without prosecution). I think if it came down to size and gender being the barring problem to more authentic cyborg bits then just lock in the bits as only being available to the default standard bodytype, I guess you could RP the character as male or female by choosing the Austin Powers-esque Fembot nipple-cannons chest section or steel dreadlocks hair detail.
If more cyborg bits were forthcoming the quality of the PPD hardsuit I wouldn't mind being locked into one size/shape as long as the multitude of bits were interchangable and could hint at gender. -

Given that these have been asked for since day one, the devs can't not know they are wanted (and could probably charge big bucks for them). Thus, the reason why they have not been done can only be that they are far more difficult to do than you imagine.
[/ QUOTE ]
Looking at (for example) the PPD hardsuit model:
It has been sculpted in 3D-Max (or whatever program Jay's team uses) differently and far more uniquely to the other costumes.
If this costume or varients of it were broken down into the usual helmet/torso/arms/lowerbody/boots sub-sections and be given dual colours or patterns... how hard would that be?
Thats not being a rhetorical question, I really am interested, how hard would it be?.
A great departure from the norm has already been achieved once in the PPD costume, thats why I'm asking why it has not yet to date been attempted again. Too time consuming?. -
Well then I will err on the 'tentative' part of the post and say that I hope the Cyborg pack MK:I does surprise and has many original new pieces in it!, If it does I will be amongst the first to happily part with my money for it.
The reply 30-day marketing comment surprised me, I had no idea the U.S forums had specifically asked for it ontop of it being included as a gamecard extra, for that Insinuation that it came from the Dev.table I apologise.
I will however standby my two comments of:
1) I think that if a customer is paying real-world money for the Jetpack piece It should be permanent.
2) There is still too much content that is derived or adapted from existing in-game content. I really do feel we need a renaissance in the concept-design part of the new cossies we get.
I'm not saying and didn't mean to suggest the guys on Jay's team are not working hard, It's just that those Cyborg bits (from the naughty leaked snippet) look too much like robotic spandex and not a proper cyborg, I can definately see influences from other existing cossies in there and thats from a really small picture too.
If they are stuck for some designs I'll happily send in some pro bono cyborg designs covered by an N.D.A.
Anything to avoid another Veteran reward 'Anime' armour letdown.
Anyway, really do hope the Cyborg pack surprises and proves successful.

I have to say, although appreciative of any new content available.... this really doesn't 'ring my bell'.
Yes it is a tiny little ad and I won't be buying it until I have seen better visuals of what the new parts are whether that be a full package rundown and description or seeing the pieces in-game. Tentatively though...
When I heard Cyborg bits I expected (as I'm sure many of us did) and have posted for repeatedly in suggestions EU.side and Stateside that we were after new costumes, not re-skins, not stripping down Exo-proto, Vanguard, stealth or rikti armour and swapping bits around and adding to it, but new content. This kind of influence and a jetpack that was suggested many a time was a Delta-Wing with animated fold-out wings on take-off! - not a reskinned Goldbrickers!.
...(As for that 30-day limit for something that is paid for by a customer... as far as I'm concerned that type of marketing should of been laughed away and canned before the suggestion was finished spoken).
I consider myself a longtime fan and supporter of the game and as such I'm not going to sugar-coat it for them.
This habit you always fall into of re-using content, tinkering with it, reskinning and calling it New has got old real-quick, and its visible to the playerbase. You should know this NorCal.
Dev's, lets make Cyborg pack II - original!. please, you've got serious competition in 7 months time. -
I think the ribbons are a great idea as I have said in the other post.
If people do not want to support an initiative in the 'official suggestions' thread then that is of course their preogative, but please remember that this is after all a suggestions thread. It doesn't need to be worked out in technical feasability to the Nth-degree, thats NorCal's job - just flagged up as a feasible idea, /signed (or not) and forwarded for NCsoft/NCwest's attention. Thats it!.
Yes Its a good viable idea - No it should not be badgeyfied.
I really don't see what all the argument is all about. -
Only real men can wear pink anyhow.
Good cause, I'll happily change a cossie option or two to join in and promote the campaign.
[ QUOTE ]
The idea to donate some money via playNC and get the cossie feature to have a pink ribbon on your char would be a fab idea and i'd support it 100%
[/ QUOTE ]
Great Idea!, somebody pass the suggestions to NCsoft please. -
...Or allow a Level fifty to sidekick two team-members?, I know Sidekicking in Champions-Online is going to allow you to sidekick four. Maybe an option to relieve the 'Lv50 leaving and dropping a sidekick scenario' on the current setup.
-
Heheh, nice version Luke, made me laugh!
-
Pretty unremarkable piece, but it shows that even the top brass at NCsoft are at risk.
Ex-NCsoft employee speaks out (Edge article). -
Not sure If anyone went from the EU.
...but just for the record Lord Spawnus, the suit is not customisable, it is a static outfit much like the Halloween '07 temp.collectables. Just wondered if you knew. -
Lets hope the powers that be see that their recent actions are possibly going to have repercussions re: their European playerbase.
Lets hope they are reading this thread Braddack...
You can bet good money they are. -
Everyone deserves their own Birthday thread!
Happy Birthday JayLeonHart!
Have a great evening!.
