Unfortunately, I have never heard of Yellow Chick, but she sounds amazing.

I too have never heard of Yellow Chick, she does sound amazing.
AS you may notice, my reply was pointless but it's Sunday morning and I want to increase my post count.

So brutally honest that was quite funny.
...I do however remember Yellow Chick. I seem to recall her as being a Tanker in a bright Canary Yellow Shirt 'n' shorts. I have not heard from her in a long, loooong time, since before Inventions were Introduced.
Very friendly and chatty. I fear she has either retired or fallen in battle. -

As to a movie 10 months in development isn't all that long plenty of superhero films have been in development he'll for ages and then came into the light

I'd be very surprised... Astonished even! If a City Of heroes film ever went to the big screen.
My head is telling me this is just a standby property in someones greedy little portfolio in this these SuperHero-crazy times, ...even if my heart wishes something else.
Actually I'll redefine that last bit; I wouldn't want to see a live action City of Heroes film. I believe the subject matter would be immensely better served as an Animated series whether it be traditional animation or CGI a'la Final Fantasy:Spirits within.
An animated series with links (to and from) the MMO would be much better in my opinion, cheaper, more flexible (as far as portraying incredible scenarios) and allow for things like player-content/characters to have cameos via competitions. -

Heres hoping that the ever advancing years dont cause more memory problems like forgetting to pick up badges during a race.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't remember that ever happenning...

Don't worry JD, your cunning distancing from your race toon in joining in with everyone sympathising/laughing wildly - meant nobody guessed he was (alledgedly) anything even remotely connected to you.
Belated Happy Birthday Wishes. Hope you had a great time. -
(At Atlas Train station, many, many moons ago):
"You're a bit of a M.I.L.F aren't you!"
>.< ... didn't have the heart to tell the poor soul.
Either that, or the first time I entered Warburg and was persistantly targetted for a 1v1 ganking by a solo player. When I politely asked if they were enjoying themselves and what they got out of permanently disrupting my mission, they called me a CULT!, (at least I think thats what it was). The Incident has always puzzled me because I didn't have any followers with me at the time.[/i] -
Jonin Ooi (think I've spelt that right.. sorry its late and I'm tired) - I've always enjoyed his morally grey justifications and hatred of spandex RP-monologues in RV.
Sniff Stalker and Prawnee would probably get my vote for Stalkers - both wonderfully Insideous and persistant.
Daddys Little Defect and Omega Patient spring to mind also, they can be a right royal handful sometimes and all-round thorn in the side of Heroic zone endeavours.
... oh, and Max Khaos of course. -

pls remove the message that is poppin up every time when u enter a mish,on the trail account.
it pushes people away from the game.
why do we get this reminder "playing trail" so manny times during gameplay?
well thats what a friend of mine said... i didnt play a trail account recently, but can imagine that [like him] i would be fed up after 2 days playing and having that message over and over again, its horrible. [he says]
so now hes gone...
[i dont know if i can turn it off ingame]
im just posting this to translate his experience with the trail.

Marketing's Pester-Power is a false (but I suspect surprisingly effective) strategy - Reminding the trial-player to upgrade all the time through system messages would be annoying for anyone. It really isn't rocket science is it? ...If you like the game you will want to upgrade at the end of it, right?! - so messages on logging-in/logging-off in the final 72 hours of the trial should be enough.

Also, clicking on NPCs really should evoke some kind of auditory response. Why can't Ms. Liberty say 'Hi hero!' or something to the effect when I begin talking to her?
It might seem like a small matter, but its this kind of fit and polish that separates AAA titles from the also-rans.
Also, the game has barely no background music. All I hear is an endless and annoying cacophony of city street sounds such as cars, police drones etc., and only once in a blue moon do I get 5 seconds of background music.

Welcome to the Eu.game and forums Wobulation!.
Without wanting to put you off what is a fantastic game...I agree with you 110% regarding the sound design.
The sound design in City of Heroes is beginning to show its age more than the visuals in my opinion.
The background cacaphony as you put it, the generalised ambient drone you get as part of all the zones (as what seems to be designed as a base for the urban ambient noise) is way too prominant, and the forementioned urban ambient noises are repetitive, not differing much (if at all) in variation of whatever zone you find yourself in.
The different neighbourhood/borough loop triggers are tiresome (especially when fighting on the border of two different ones and the music keeps chopping and changing between the two) and some if not all of the jingles are,I feel, rather dated.
There is no excuse not to have voice talent in City of Heroes for Signature Heroes/Villains, contacts and In-game cutscenes - Initial impressions for me personally after playing Age of Conan's tutorial missions was utter refreshment and made me realise just how dated the City of Heroes MMO is in sound design.
That said Wobulation, Stick with it and you will find a real gem of a game that (if you are into the whole SuperHero genre) will grab hold of your Imagination and shake it around like a frenzied terrier!. The content and gameplay variation is varied and getting deeper all the time thanks to a development team that actually listens to the community's suggestions. -
Gentle reminder sent Zeero92.

Just a little note for the prizewinners - The prizes will be going out registered and International post this Thursday now, sorry for the delay, but I wanted them packaged nice and snuggly so all the goodies get to you in one piece.

Byebye Matt,
- Goodluck and take care.

Heheh, thats great!, goodjob Ginger_Shadow! - next Halloween we really should make it a community competition.
-
I would have to decline, as tempting as it would be - Mumsie is still not prepared to put up with a city hall deskjob away from all the action.

Possibly the most boring (if not essential) part of the event marshalling!, Thankyou for volunteering Carnifax!
- One PPD Code winging its way to you courtesy of GhostRaptor.

Hmmm, at least its not the one that hijacts your browser.
Its still groan-worthy though, so downgraded from a /em,slap to a /em,threathand. -
I don't think they're bad at all, I applaud your logographic endeavour.
If you need any more fonts have a look the way of www.1001freefonts.com where you can browse by genre as well to fit your concept. -
Interesting Massively.com article charting the rise of the SuperHero MMO: Whats with all the capes?
-
Agreed, You'd think the sheer incentive of Zortel-Hugs would have so many Heroes and Villains decend on the place she'd have to resort to keeping them at bay by means of a large pooey stick with nails in the end.
I wonder when we are going to get an announcement of our NCwest funded Annual EU.playermeet in a replacement Omega Sector-esque venue? - lord knows in these pressing economic times I've been holding off on Memorabilias and Comic-Cons so that I know for certain I will have the funds for a 3-day EU.Playermeet to meet you all again.

First Place and third place respectively cossie winners: Murdo McTaggart and Ariarathes.
Second place: Bad Hat (the one in the hat.)
-
A semi-reluctant 'Happy Anniversary!
' Red-side - after all, even Villainy deserves cake.....
Just a smaller bit thats all, ...perhaps with an obsure dodgy looking hair or bit of carpet-fluff on it. -
Hope everyone has a great time at this playermeet.

I will be sending the codes direct to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the Race and to the winner of the costume contest. GhostRaptor has kindly offered codes be available to 2nd and 3rd place cossie winners and to the Marshalls whos invaluable help last night made the event so memorable.
Whether that is through me or direct through GR when he's back in the office we'll have to wait and see.
Thankyou GR, thankyou everybody. -
Well it was only a couple of lines but the sheer potency of emotion posted made it legendary.
UniqueDragon, He's Infamous don'tcha know!. -
Macs are great (in my design studio experience) in a closed-loop studio enviroment - I happily used them for over 15 years, in fact I cut my teeth on Illustrator and Photoshop on the Mac.... but to be honest as a personal computer at home and out 'n' about I got rather tired of either a) peripherals bought off the shelf not being Mac-compatible or b) software not being available in Mac flavour. I switched just after the bordeline 98se/ME editions - so not so bad.
Anyway I digress, the more population to CoH/V the better.
Good job guys, But consider (as this is a digital release) of getting some artwork for the shelves of places like the Apple Stores and HQ in London and around the World. A shelf presence with box-art (even if it is a digital download) will make a massive difference.
