    If I was going to put money on it, I'd say if they are planning to better the costume creator then I very much doubt they will shy away from bettering the powers on offer.
    On release anyway I'll be very surprised if they don't at least equal the power choices of their competitor, of course you can't call them power-sets per say as powers are assigned on a player-designed flexible custom framework instead of enforced sets that you subscribe to.

    All i know is I can run COX with all the trimmings and bells and whistles on via my 4 year old Alienware rig (updated with extra RAM and graphics card) - yet Tsu's fairly recent Titan bash in Kings Row event had the zone grind to a halt with nigh on a hundred heroes at Kings Row Station standing around doing nothing.

    There is something seriously wrong with the network infrastructure between here and the servers in Berlin.

    Oh absolutely no doubt NCsoft (and through them Paragon Studios) have their strategy in place and know exactly what they are going to do, how they are going to weather expected losses and reposition if necessary already.
    I agree with you, it is what they do after the marketplace has settled which will determine the future of the license.

    Disruption is going to happen for certain twice with the launches of CO and DCUO. Whether or not Paragon is still here to compete with the third unsettling of the market when MUO launches a couple of years from now is anyones guess.
  11. Well, like I've alluded to before, Its not so much the fact that Issue 14's MA feature is a take it or leave it game addition, - the fact is that here again is another game feature that has been misjudged to just how much upkeep it is going to need on an ongoing basis.

    Constant PvP tinkering has been replaced as flavour of the month by what seems to be a whole new pandora's box of MA tinkering, and such ongoing commitments to these needy features are going to have a negative effect on the time and work needed to revamp the game before the two main competitors gather suffient pace and subscribers.

    If they are disappointed thats fine, many were with CoH on release, but compare Issue 1 to what we have today!, MMOs projects grow in size and evolve in competance. You're talking as though any MMO released stays as they were on release in a static condition.

    Re: the endurance/build-up game dynamic - I don't think taking inspiration from an MMO that pulls eleventy gajillion subscribers is that odd to be honest, I'll be judging the game on how it plays as a SuperHero MMO not dissecting it for its apparent plagerism.
    To be honest if the system is similar to WoW (and I don't know if it is to be honest having never played it) but if it is then it could very well of been on purpose, A long-term WoW player may find it familiar and 'get' CO that bit more and decide to defect.
