  1. Mother's Love waits at the far end of the Pocket D bar, drink in hand and psychically aware of the pain in Scarlet's heart she purposely focuses elsewhere to give the two old friends some privacy in their heart-to-heart.

Whilst feeling a general air of resignation from Scarlet, Mother's senses their paths will cross again in the near future. "Funny how things turn out sometimes" she says to herself whilst slowly stirring a cup of tea... "This isn't the end for Scarlet..."
  2. An end of an era indeed!, Farewell Zortel , I hope when you check back in a couple of Issues time, CoH has some feature that you're after. If you ever decide to try a duty-shift in other Cities I hear theres one thats hiring.

When Faultline got its revamp, I distinctly remember people complaining that they'd rather have new zones instead of revamped ones. Even more so after the Hollows revamp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I thought the Faultline revamp was not too shabby, but with respect to WarWitch and her work, the Hollows re-vamp was no such thing (with the exception of adding a Med-station/trainers) it was changing the mobs and mob behaviours and adding/deleting mob groups and placements... not altering the map mesh, architectual details, enviromental effects etc.

As I said in the other thread, this does seem to be a real clash of dev opinion vs player opinion.

The devs seem to think that revamping a zone is just a waste of time, after all they're old, they're not shiny, surely the players want shiny?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

*Sighs* - I must say, this apparent position by the Devs makes me feel sad. Old Zones need revamping!... period.
They were the first zones to be added to the game, they are the first zones experienced by new players. They look old and have too much 'filler' and not enough 'killer' for their size (see warehouse districts in Atlas and Galaxy).

If Paragon Studios is going to take the attitude of not updating beginner zones and keeping them graphically relevant because it is not economical Dev-manpower-investment-wise then don't expect new subscribers to stick around long enough to experience newer ones like Faultline, Perigrine or Cimerora, because I am telling you for a fact trial-users are logging on and are commenting on the tired graphics and design of the zones.

Ridiculous reasoning in my opinion, but to be honest I am spiritually exhausted suggesting points further with if this is truely how the Devs approach what is good for the future of the game.
  5. Ahh, 8pm UK time - *noted, Thanks.

    i15 moaners.

For the record I am not interested in Shiney for Shiney's sake. I'm not stupid and easily swayed by cosmetic changes or just because something is new, nor (after having worked in and around advertising/design/branding) am I swayed by marketing.

I am looking for a superheroic MMO with potential for the next five to ten years, one that will grow and become as big, as popular, and as finessed to the Nth degree as 'City of' has become.

    Potential, Potential, Potential.

    i15 moaners.

'City of Heroes' has Years of exciting content for a new player or player with limited subscription time so far, Don't get me wrong,.. that exciting content is still there as a major factor for first-time players.

The dis-satisfaction is coming from Veterans recognising Paragon Studios repackaging old content relabelled as new and not listening to what the playerbase have been requesting for years.
See all the polls about new zones etc, yet they are forging ahead in a direction that has the new content ratio dropping drastically in favour of tinkering persistantly with PvP and the newly introduced MA feature.
Look at the issue updates Col.B on the official site and see how the curve of new zones and fresh content was in the past, It has levelled right off and content redux such as the Hamidon event left in a player-unfriendly state with no apparent willingness to amend it regardless of player-feedback.

I wish you years of enjoyment in what you will experience in Paragon if you have not experienced all it has to offer so far. But as far as Veterans voicing informed opinion, I put it to you they possibly have a more comprehensive knowledge of whats rehash-packaged-as-new and what is actually new.
  8. Go with the Jaffa Cakes!, the dual-combo of Smashing Orangey Bit™ and only 1g of fat per cake means you could potentially scoff a whole packet and still fit into your spandex for your duty-shift.

    Happy Birthday Sweetheart.
  9. Flip-switched Rehash™. Strike one of three.

(The three being: 1:Fifth Anniversary Event / 2:Positron's Fifth Anniversary Address / 3: Issue 15.)
