We just finished Posi TF pt. 1 in 1:02:00. Only 3 of the original team showed up and Pthaquein had to leave after first mish(RL strikes again...hope everything turns out ok) We had to invite some new players to the team. So thanks to them for joining us. Things went really well. We had 2 deaths. both mine. lol I got a little overconfident. Twice. Oh well. Anyways, we will be starting Part 2 at 5pm EST tonight. About a year ago, I created a SG(The 6th House). I co-managed it with a RL friend. When RL took a nasty turn between us, I left the SG. It was brought to my attention that he has long since quit playing the game. I was wondering if anyone from the 6th House still plays and has a toon currently in the SG? I would like to see if its still alive. I sadly have not seen any members running around in a while. At our height we had hit the member cap. If you are still in the SG send me a shout out. THANKS! -
Hello fellow Guardians!
While dumping my Enhancement Rack on WW the other night, I got what I thought would be a great idea. I invited any and all who wanted to come to check out my stock and bid for any pieces they wanted. Well, it went well. I actually made over 100 million more than the projected take at WW. This really got me thinking. What if I were able to sell enhancements directly to individuals. Skip the listing price and all.
So, I am toying around with an idea of setting up a new SG designed to be a store/warehouse. Players could have a toon in the SG and watch the racks for any peices they would like and make a bid.(Of course some items would be pre priced) Those who reach a certain prestige level(gotta have something to support the space needed to keep a nice stock) can get discounts on items and at higher levels even open up their own shops at the cost of Rent(depending on the size of room they request). This has been a thought in my head for a while.
What do you all think? Can you see any problems with this idea? Any suggestions for how to make it work?

I'm looking to surprise a friend with a tank that is a bit different, he has played an Ice tank, an Invulnerability tank, a Willpower scrapper & a Shield scrapper. I want to know which you think is more fun and why. What advantages does one combo have over the others and what disadvantages? He is going to be away from the game for a bit (a month) and i would like to have a toon designed and to to some degree planned for him when he gets back. He likes fast gameplay (got that more with his Ice than his Inv tank). Any thoughts or suggestions?

I just created Quivering Flame on Guardian Server. On a whim I decided to create this guy. It would seem to me that this would be an AoE monster with several ST attacks to pepper in on those pesky bosses when needed. The difference between Archery's ranged AoE and Fire's melee, will prove interesting I think. I have not sat down to work on a build yet but I wanted to dip the line in the waters and see what you all have to say about the combo.
Pros:
Due to the ranged/melee combo, I think playtime would never get stagnant. Being able to hover blast with Archery and then jumping right into the thick of things and Blap with the best of them seems like a fun time.
Cons:
Well with such different playstyles available, I am not sure what to focus on in terms of defense. First thought would be to just softcap S/L and call it a day. Though I am not positive that would suffice.(It has on my Fire/Elec so far)
With so much focus on AoE END REDUX will be an issue. Though with consume, who knows.
Final thoughts:
This combo seems very challenging and fun to play. I am intrigued to see how this will turn out. What do you all think? -
Hey guys, I wanted to drop in and apologize for missing our run on Monday. This is actually my first chance to sit down and do anything. Busy busy week. Anyways, Real life has become very interesting in the last week. It has forced me to take a small hiatus from the virtual world. As soon as I am able to sort everything out in the real world, I will be back by your sides fighting the forces of evil in the Digital World. Hopefully, this will not take long. Course that all depends on my own industriousness. I hope you all enjoy playing your various defenders while I am away. Go heal/buff/debuff one for me! Thanks guys. I am popping this comment off real quick before bed. Blood, you do have an insane ability to do things I really dont think you should be able to do. lol You have surprised me several times and saved my blaster's butt even more.
(Sidebar....playing with you makes being vengebait kinda fun in a sick and twisted way) Knowing who will be taking on that roll ahead of time has made it easier to accept the temporary dissappointment of faceplanting at an AVs feet.
PS. As I have repeatedly stated, I wish I had an ingame suga momma that financed all my toons(and yes I know you will say it wasnt worth it to lose such a good friend.) Still....

Congratulations and Thanks!
I wanna thank everyone who showed up this past Monday to the first week of our all Defender team. It was a smashing success. Of course, by that I mean we successfully smashed our victi----erm our enemies and powered our way through the first set of content.
We started out in Outbreak and got our Isolator badges. A great start to what should prove to be a great career together. Next, we ran through our first contacts till everyone hit level 6. Sprinting through missions leaving justified destruction in our wake, we soon had our first safeguard mission under our belts with a nice jetpack to show for it.
Heading into the hollows, Lt. Wincott's story arc proved to be a cakewalk. As we approached level 10 the clock was ticking on scheduled playtime. We ended the night deep in Flux's arc. Next week, here we come Frostfire! Not to mention a possible Posi TF.
PS. I would like to post a screenshot but do not know how. Any tips would be great. -
We have a full team everyone! This is shaping up to be a great time for all. We will be meeting in Outbreak at 2:00pm Monday, July 12th. Those who have already created their toons and do not wish to get the isolator badge can meet us under Atlas shortly thereafter. We will begin running Contact missions in AP and on to the Hollows(Mostly because I want to see Frostfire get hit butt handed to him by a bunch of defenders hehe). By the time we get done with all the story arcs in Hollows it will be time for our first TF and Trial. The Positron TF and the CoT Trial. I am not positive we will get to both of them tomorrow or will push them to next week. Thank you all for signing up! Lets have a great time tomorrow.

Greetings my fellow Guardians!
My name is Sirken. I wanted to introduce myself before I got to business. I have been playing COH for 18 months now. At first I had a terrible case of Alt-itis. I couldn't seem to get a toon above 30. Then I met my first Supergroup. They promised me my first level 50 toon. It just had to be a fire kin. I spent long nights sitting at my screen protecting the all important door. I guess they wanted an effective exit strategy. Anyways, the game really started to get boring. That changed when I rolled my Fire/Elec blaster. I loved that toon. I played all the content I could. I found a new love for the game. There was so much to do! As a blaster I was rolling through content like crazy. I was 50 in 2 months. Then came my Ice/Ice tanker. He just dinged 50 a few days ago. Now I face a situation. I have a goal of a level 50 in every AT. It is now time to level my defender. I am not a support style player. So to make this fun for me and hopefully meet some new players in the process I came up with this idea.
The Guardians of Paragon(An all Defender Static Team)
I would like to invite anyone and everyone to come sign up for this new team. We will be playing Monday afternoons from 2:00pm-6:00pm(EST). This will be a story arc and TF driven team. The goal is to play as much content as possible on our way to 50. We will pick up TFs as we level.

So I decided to check into converting to a FF/Sonic. This did seem more thematic as well as being more in line with my original purpose of weaking foes and dealing damage. This is a rough mock-up of what I am thinking about. If this does not translate to effective gameplay please let me know.

Excellent. So damage it is. Follow up questions:
1. Is reaching the Softcap for Ranged defense all that important on this type of toon?
2. How important would it be to take the Medicine pool on a FF defender?
3.Before I level this toon to much, would a resist debuff of Sonic be more effective to mowing through mobs than the Defense debuff of Rad?

I just created what I thought would be an interesting combo, FF/Rad. I plan on using this toon to mainly duo with a RL buddy. However, we often create PUGs for things such as TFs and story arcs that we run with our SG. My friend will no doubt be running all sorts of toons often switching between Melee and Ranged attacks even to one of his several controllers. My question is this. Should I slot my Rad attacks for damage or defense debuffing. With defense debuffing I can softcap both melee and s/l defense for myself while still focusing on making my bubbles at potent as possible. Of course sapping the defense of others is a big bonus(though as I type this I wonder if Sapping resistance might be more useful hmmm....) Should I slot for damage, I believe I can softcap range defense and pump out damage myself instead of just relying on my team to do it for me. I am completely new to the world of defenders and I hardly ever pay attention to them when I team.(I appreciate the heals/buffs/debuffs but hey when I am unleashing the fury of my fire blaster I cant stop to notice little things like someone keeping me alive when I go crazy....)
So to recap, should I slot my Rad attacks for damage or Defense debuffs?

So I recently tried a little experiment with my Ice/Ice tank. It ummm, didn't go well. So I have tinkered in MIDS and came up with this. Please let me know what you all think.
Highlights:
53% S/L/E/N Defense BEFORE EA
Perma Hoarfrost(which caps my HP)
151% Recharge (W/Hasten up) This means Hasten has a downtime of 8.5 seconds. (UGH!)
Ice Patch up every 11 seconds.(I know thats rediculous but hey, its really funny to watch two or three mobs on their back after a good herd)
EA up every 20 seconds!!!
Both Freezing Touch and Block of Ice to provide some nice control in addition to my slows.(Tanktroller anyone?)
And the creme de la Creme....Frozen Aura up every 6 seconds usually with BU to accompany it.

I will venture a completely uneducated guess and say 1,478,000,000. This is of course based on no experience, calculations, knowledge of marketeering, or asking the little green guy that lives in my closet(seriously dont ask him anything. He just throws socks at you. Thats right I keep socks in my closet!)

I just rolled a WP/DB tank. I got a neat concept in mind for a man infected by a nasty scratch he got while hiking. It allows him to tap into the earth for fantastic healing and endurance recovery powers while making him very resilient to attacks. On top of this he is able to create extremely sharp swords out of cellulose that is infused into his skin. Anyways, you get the idea that it is a concept toon.
I created this toon before I read any forum posts. I soon realized that I had bit off a bit more than I anticipated. That said, I have decided to stick it out. I mostly duo with a RL friend and pick up the occasional PuG for TFs and whatnot. I have just a few questions:
1. What would be a good toon to fit thematically for my RL friend to create to level together?
2. The build I have worked up rather quickly on the fly has capped all types but Psi and offers great resistance to make up for it. This is somewhat at the expense of my attacks. They seem a little lackluster(at least as far as the numbers go in MIDS) Is this extreme durability worth losing a bit of damage output if I have someone to team with pretty much all the time?
I know I have my work cut out for me with a WP/DB tanker. If you guys can point me in the right direction to make him the best he can be I would really appreciate it. -
Hey thanks guys. I really appreciate the help. It was fast too. I have had a few posts sitting on the blaster forums forever with hundreds of veiws and no responses. Again thanks! I will try to take a look at your suggestions and come up with a new build. If there are any other suggestions keep them coming. I am extremely new to the Controller AT and especially the Ill/Rad sets. Local, I will read your guide over again. Its been a little while since I have. One more question, how much should I expect to spend on a perma PA build if I try to buy all my LOTG recharges with Merits?
