  1. I did have a look. No real problem with it, myself. The arrangement of powers does seem to be assuming level 50 players, though. The high-end powers probably should go away if the boss is only level 20 or so, but I'm quite happy to see the mez shields pushed back to Extreme.
  2. While you're at it, don't forget to shame anybody you think has been buying their wares. RMT spammers couldn't afford to keep buying new accounts unless someone was paying them big bank for all that inf.

This, incidentally, is the other reason the devs aren't too keen on farming missions. I'd wager they don't actually care that much about legitimate players farming like crazy, but it's the RMT people running farm missions 24 hours a day that create a problem.
  3. I'd be happy if they just auto-shuffle the arcs presented in the window. People are lazy, and they don't even scroll the page down if they don't have to. It's the only way you're going to put new arcs in front of people's faces.

I'm also in favor of the simplified up/down rating of arcs, since functionally that's how it works now anyway.
  4. The perception debuffs are fixed on test.

Personally I wish they'd take Energy Drain away from enemies entirely. Even on a lieutenant it's so powerful you're looking at almost a completely empty bar, which is way more powerful than the player version.

Although, conversely, do you have a real reason to give lieutenants so much defense? Mez protections have (mostly) been moved to Extreme, and to that I can only say good. People keep giving their custom enemies way too much protection, and it doesn't make them harder - just more tedious.

It isn't, and never mind, it doesn't cause failure in that case. Now if only I could make sure he does escape...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Arch-villain rank with Extreme Super Reflexes. Makes him impossible to hit, he'll resists slows and immobilizes, and Elude will let him run away at 100 mph. Works for Crimson pretty well.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
I wonder what would happen if the devs made it so custom enemy groups required a minimum of 1 minion, 1 lieut, and 1 boss. I'm sure there would still be farming, but it might die down somewhat.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It would drive a stake right through the heart of farming missions, that's for sure.

It would also result in an entirely new explosion of anger from people who want to be able to populate "challenge" missions entirely with bosses or arch-villains, which would no longer be possible. That's not my cup of tea at all, but I'd sure hate to see that go just because of the farmers.

They're going to roll back ED and travel suppression for the month of May! All perma'able clicks will be returned to their issue 1 values! Instant Healing will be a toggle! Smoke Grenade will self-stack and apply a 50% tohit debuff again! Wait, those aren't the "great" things they were talking about? Well, I'm sure it'll still be cool.

As long as I get the badge and some weird Inspiration/Temp Power/Emote, I'm fine.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You know, for one day, that would be pretty funny. Just set everything back, and have a whole day of tankers herding the entirety of Brickstown into a dumpster and Regen scrappers soloing the Hamidon. Now that we have IOs and 5 years worth of min/maxing knowledge, the abuses we could wreak would be epic.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Aw, they don't work with Hover/Fly

    [/ QUOTE ]
/em cardtrick works. The others are bugged, though.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I've noticed that for Khelds, switching forms activates the Fortune sound effect, just like the Hasten sound is heard every time I switch forms.

Ugh, going 20 minutes hearing a smooch every time I switch is a bit annoying...

    [/ QUOTE ]
The Wheel of Fortune FX plays every minute or so, so you're stuck with the sounds for the full 20 minutes whether you're changing or not.
  10. Well, I managed to get my code applied without mishap, and WOW. I'm undecided if this new cape looks good on Amalgamate, but I must use this thing somewhere. It's anchored to your arms, so they push the cape back when you run. It looks really, really nice. There's even a generic style if you don't specifically want to look like a wizard.
  11. I suspect that the people who farm task forces hardcore hoard all their merits and blow them on the Miracle unique and the like. Relatively few people go for the random roll at that level range, so not many of these pop up on the auction block. It's also one of the new sets, and a useful one at that, which means there's fewer in circulation in general.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Dunno, I thought SexyJ mentioned a while back he wanted more classic tights options, so Natural maybe? Just speculation on my part.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would more readily associate classic tights with the Science origin, myself. The Mutant booster, in my mind, would be monstrous features and Natural being Sam Fisher/Nick Fury type stuff.

Also, this has to be a heap of ego-stroking for Sexy Jay. Everybody's falling over themselves to buy this pack so much, the site is barely functional.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
So you come to tell us you found an exploit but you aren't going to tell us what it is.

Why create this thread then? Just to brag that you turn in exploiters?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think it was more to complain that the farming missions are already starting to drown out the real content in the MA. See, people wouldn't have issues with farmers if they weren't disrupting normal gameplay. You can play the game the "wrong" way all you want as long as you're not interfering with anyone else. The problem with farming is that it does interfere, and this is one of those ways.
  14. The only time I really couldn't forgive using one of those big outdoor maps was when the author had something like four chained objectives in one mission. The map was absolutely huge, and I was very quickly getting sick of running back and forth trying to find the next objective.

You can have a lot of things happening out there to justify the space, but please please make all the objectives spawn from the very start. You can make things more complicated when the devs do a proper pass on all the maps and make sure that they actually do have a real front, middle, and back.

This is only the first wave, and there's a lot of features we don't have yet, so it's okay if you have to shelve an ambitious idea. I've got a few that are on hold until we can put down "Those two guys that are talking to each other" spawns.
  15. I'm curious as well, since I couldn't see any difference. Both settings start you off with -1 enemies, and end with +1 enemies.
  16. I'd be too embarrassed to publish an arc if it wasn't good and polished. I'm essentially showing myself off, and I wouldn't want to present myself as sloppy and unable to spell properly. If I'm gonna soak up criticism, I'd rather it be because nobody likes my narrative. I know I can republish, I prefer to do that only in the case of a surprise bug or minor typos.

Really, if I need tickets that badly, I'll just go run someone else's arc, which is, y'know, the whole point of the MA. You get heaps and heaps of the things, you really don't need to farm for them - you can profit AND have fun.

Costume "sets" dumb down the possibilities of this wonderful tool , show a failure to recognize its potential and needlessly limit the creative control of the player.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Have you ever actually stood around in Atlas Park and Mercy Island? Since both games launched up to the present, people have been making terrible, uncreative costumes whether we have costume sets or not. Here's a fun game to play. Stand in Fort Darwin and count the number of villains you see running by wearing black/red, black/purple, or black/blue outfits.

It's just not an argument I understand, considering that I know I'm not the only person who cherry picks individual pieces of costume sets to make existing costumes better. If anything, I welcome more costume sets, because then the uncreative types will have something ready-made so they don't look like they were attacked by a rummage sale.
  18. Depending on how far away from the door your hero ally is, you can make this work by placing an ally, setting him to aggressive, and giving him the behavior to run to the entrance. He'll take off for the door as soon as you rescue him, but if he meets any enemies, he'll fight them. It has to be pretty close to the door, though, or he'll "lose" you and stand still.
  19. Haven't seen Ascendant's arc, but I ran another on test that had three rescue objectives on the Zig breakout map, and they mostly spawned in the jail cells at the very end. I haven't a clue why that's not working for you.
  20. There's only three things that have annoyed me so far:

    1. Turning critters to Extreme for no reason. In most cases this doesn't make them harder, just more obnoxious to defeat. It's great that a crowd of minions can mass hold me and all, but they don't have the collective firepower to really threaten me, and after I break loose they are all dead. That's not fun or challenging, it's just adding 30 seconds onto what should be a routine fight.

    2. Lack of variety. I did an arc that was three missions against the Tsoo in a warehouse, then a fourth mission that was Tsoo and some Snakes. Even if the story is interesting, it gets old very fast if it feels like you're just doing the same thing over and over again. Look at what the Citadel TF does, and don't do that.

    3. Using /Ninjitsu enemies in a "Defeat All" mission. Seriously, why do you hate humanity?
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Let's see, Crey illigally dumping Radioactive waste on farm causes the animals and crops to mutate. Animals/Pumpkins revolt taking wife and daughter hostage. You have to destroy barrels, giant ant hills and giant cocoons (no collect possible on map) and rescue two hostages.

I worked on dialog, descriptions for custom groups, etc. Tongue-in-cheek humor.

    Still got banned.

Granted there were a few references to Copyright material or slightly risque bits, but nothing I thought violated the EULA. This is why we need feedback if a mission get banned. Was it banned for being a "farm" mission? (If so, someone missed the joke)

Copyright material references? I can remove them.

The Farmer's Daughter references? (This from the poeple that gave us MaeMae Van Hooters err Hooten?)

How can I know if it was just an over-eager GM that didn't even bother to look at the mission or for a real reason if I get no feedback?

    [/ QUOTE ]
After closing down who knows how many farming missions, the GM in question probably had little patience for people that were deliberately trying to push the envelope. I wouldn't expect much wiggle room at all. On a related note, the rules also indicate no parody missions whatsoever, so I don't think the GMs are going to have a sense of humor at all.

Also, I really cannot believe this isn't a troll topic. "I made a mission that's all about farming, and the GMs banned it, and I can't figure out why!" The sense of entitlement some people have never ceases to amaze me.
  22. Some enemies will reliably do emotes, but custom bosses are a little obsessive about toggling on their armor powers, and don't go back to their emote when finished.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    Interesting. No surgeons?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You could create a custom villain group made up of nothing but Immunes Surgeons, drop them into a mission, and farm the heck out of it completely risk free. With some trickery, you could do the same thing to the transformation capsules.

I'm surprised they cranked this patch out so fast. The devs must have been sweating bullets when certain individuals blared the exploit all over the forums right before this went live.
  24. I suspect a lot of people still don't know about the Ninjitsu bug. There's also the lack of nuance that the playerbase usually has. You know how people only seem to make characters at maximum or minimum height? The same principle applies to their custom critters.

I gave a pretty grouchy review to one arc where even the minions and lieutenants were set to Extreme. This doesn't actually make them harder; it just makes the fight more tedious. I still wasn't in much danger, but the chain mezzes and widespread resistance needlessly slowed me down. Then I was given a very long tech lab "defeat all" mission against these guys.
  25. Oh hey, I just played this one.

I mentioned this in the feedback I sent, but the amount of endurance drain being thrown around is just insane. The third mission took absolutely forever because the huge crowd around the bosses drained me instantly even with Unstoppable going. It's probably not something you can control, but might wanna tone them down just a little.

Wierdly enough, the AV at the end didn't give me that much trouble. A few inspirations and I splatted him no sweat. It was the boss in the first mission that was rough, me being an Energy Melee tanker and him having 90% energy resistance.
