    Huh. All this time I'd assumed they just figured out some sneaky way of tricking the game into accepting bogus body scale values. You could do the same thing to the Sims 2, to hilarious effect. Plain old hacking the game is kind of lame in comparison.

    Power Renaming

    You don't need to use profanity to find a way to squick people out with your power name choices. I think the main concern is creating more work for customer service; they have enough trouble just trying to react to Wolverine clones and Topless Girl, and people are already giggling over making Rain of Fire yellow.
  3. Got my Plant controller up to level 31.5, with enough rest XP to go the rest of the way. I'd have pushed harder, but I just discovered the joy of Carrion Creepers, so I don't feel so much like I need the fly trap to be viable.
  4. The previews were touting a "sophisticated combat system". Given that this is a Hello Kitty game, I was morbidly curious.

  6. Oh PLEASE disable the rep counter. The only forums I've seen that leave the rep counter on have been the absolute dregs of the internet. You really do not want to bring on the endless jockeying for rep that this will bring, no matter how useless it actually is.

  9. Wow. So you actually DID pull out random animations here and there, do all the greyscale stuff needed, and just do this piecemeal over the long term. I think I outright suggested it a year ago, but I never imagined you'd actually do that. That's a crazy amount of dedication.

    What I really love about this dev team is they go the extra mile just to make as many people as happy as power. Lazier developers wouldn't have bothered with both "light" and "dark" versions, no matter how lame it would be not to be able to throw solid black balls of flame at people. I sound like a total sycophant here, but this is astounding when you have some idea of how much effort all this took.
  10. Are you a Shields user? The game is tempermental about playing animations with the shield out. I usually have to try a couple different emotes before they will actually start playing.
  11. I remember when it was a royal pain in the butt to fill out your character with SOs. You didn't have any rich alts, so you had to live off the land. You can tell who's an old hand by how often they feel compelled to go sell their enhancement inventories...

    Stores only sold the "Power 10" enhancements: Accuracy, Damage, Healing, Endurance Recovery, Rechage, Resistance, Defense, Hold, Range, and... I forget the last one. Maybe Immobilize? At any rate, you could generally get your hands on the basic enhancements, but if you needed Jump, Fly, or Tohit Debuff enhancements, you had to buy from a contact at twice the normal price.
  12. It sounds like it might be a little too good, but in practice it's pretty hard to push past 80% Fury, which is why Bill Z was using that as a baseline. Claws might have an easier time getting up to a reasonably high Fury, but I doubt it's enough to matter.

    What's going to be nice for brutes is the special effect of Claws, which is reduced endurance costs. I can easily run my Claws/WP stalker with no Stamina, and I imagine it's insane when you actually have Quick Recovery on top of that.
  13. My money is on it being a technical issue with the mastermind upgrades (particularly Thugs). Otherwise, there's no real reason we shouldn't be able to colorize henchmen, since BaBs said even Traps could be customized if he has time to work on it.
  14. Defeat All missions aren't bad, as long as you're not making me do it on an outdoor map or something.

    Now, a Defeat All mission where the enemies have Ninjitsu? No. Not even on the villain tutorial bunker, no.

    If you're willing to spend a lot of time bouncing around the various AE buildings, Bad Penny is sometimes found hanging around the lobby or quiet room. No idea what his powers are, though.
  16. It's not Requiem or Nemesis or you because note-leaver outright speculated that maybe it's Requiem, or Praetorian Nemesis, or an alternate universe you, and that would too obvious. He or she does kind of imply that it's an alternate universe version of somebody, though.

    Still, if it's just another Nemesis I'm going to be annoyed. It needs to be something unexpected, like Praetorian Azuria or something.
  17. Fiery Aura, as a consequence of standing out in the sunlight. I've actually seen this one done; he was an old, powerful vampire who was too tough to die from sunlight, and was just burning all the time.

    Then why did Invulnerability get buffed? Before the buff, Invul's performance was satisfactory, despite getting outshone by the other protection sets. Invul tankers didn't NEED a buff to do their job, and easily cleared the minimum hurdles, but that didn't change the fact that there was no clear reason to choose Invul over, say, Willpower.

    It's great that you enjoy making high performance characters out of sub-par powersets, but no AT or powerset is supposed to be the "challenge" build. It is not a design goal to install newbie traps into the game and trick people into picking the weakest build.
  19. Bigger bug: The new patch has frozen all animations on the character select screen and costume creator. Characters don't breathe or do idle poses, and the capes/wings freeze in place like cardboard. While that part doesn't hurt anything, auras aren't animating either. Auras are invisible on frame 1, making them impossible to properly edit in the costume creator.
  20. There's a long standing bug with female characters and the flying "rifle shot" animation. I always see it with Robotics/Pulse Rifle Burst, but a lot of temp powers like the Rikti Rifle and Arachnos Shotgun appear to use the same animation. The character drops a foot in the air while firing, then returns to normal altitude.

  21. Presumably, the height/body type menu will now correctly remember your body sliders instead of resetting them all to default. That's the nasty bug that got the pack delayed in the first place.

    The barrels of dynamite were being used for farming purposes. Removing other effects that hurt the player, I have no idea. Maybe it's for the sake of melee users, in case someone fills an entire mission with exploding things.
  23. Supposedly, it was changed because the heal ticks were causing a hideous amount of lag when MMs were healing all their pets. I'm not so sure this is really the case since the corruptor version will still heal pets.
  24. Actually, I'm almost certain that "buzz" is banned because of the drug connotations.

    What's been annoying me is that I can't insert my blaster Amalgamate into a mission, but it's not for the reasons you might think. Specifically, it's not the world "amalgam" that's the problem, it's the string "amal" that the MA has an issue with. It took me a while to figure out why.

    Come ON. Nobody is going to try to sneak dirty words into the game using that spelling. It's ridiculous that the filter is so berserk that character names that are valid for the real game get locked out of the MA.
