ahhh great thatll help one badge that can actually be gotten on any day of the week..

i wonder why posi cant fix the bugged ones??. or at least share beter info then the "ignoring" hes been doing.

    ahhh well..

    [/ QUOTE ]
    A: I7
B: They might all have been fixed by now. It takes a while for patches to filter down through QA. The fix might be sitting right behind I7 in the queue, meaning we won't see it for some time.
  2. Probably from whenever the game started keeping proper count. It seems that, like the time badges and certain kill badges, the game wasn't keeping proper track of your rocket launches.

Should also clear up once and for all whether the badge is for five rockets or ten. Given the way Gunner used to erroneously be awarded, and the wierdness with the time badges, I would not be surprised if it's really five and many launches are not getting counted for whatever reason.
  3. That is a good point. Once people get fixated on inaccurate information, like Scrappers having 125% Blaster damage or Elixir of Life/Howling Twilight not contributing to healing badges, it's hard to shake them of that idea because someone stated it with authority. This is why the crusade against misinformation is so vehement at times.

Initially, it was true: no giant monster was summonable. It was assumed by the player base that this would hold true in CoV, but as it turns out the schema in the Rogue Isles is different - and nobody ever said it wouldn't be. When people say they read CuppaJo announcing that Deathsurge is random, they're recalling an obsolete post from CoH. The devs quietly made CoV giant monsters different, and we're just recently discovering this.

The fact remains, Friggin Taser got a redname reply in PM (which I think you can safely reproduce, Taser), and countless other people have personally verified that Deathsurge is player spawned. The big gremlin comes out when you kill enough of the little guys, and you can do this yourself if you don't believe it. Only takes about 45 minutes of your time.
  4. The only bad GM response I've ever gotten was a lack of reply to a petition I sent, asking about the temp power from Ice Mistral's SF that only the team leader gets. Apart from that, the GMs have been very courteous and helpful, even if they are sticklers about clearing the map.

There's a lot of conflicting information about Rocketman, and the devs themselves may not be entirely aware of the problem. I'm starting to think that, like Gunner, the badge isn't really supposed to be awarding at all. My suggestion to everyone would be to just give up on the PvP badges entirely until we get word that they've really, honestly all been fixed. I have no idea why, but every PvP-related badge is horribly busted.
  5. I can also confirm that it is not related to the Shivan Shard temp power. My Mastermind frequently zoned in at the middle of the zone somewhere, and she's never even tried to amass the meteor fragments before. I was only out there on a plaque hunting quest. Not to rag on QA any, but if it helps them track down the bug, they can rule the temp power out.
  6. FYI, there's a patch on the test server. You're missing out on a 150 Frostling minion. I doubt you'll miss the snowman.

Question about Toothbreaker. Does it have to be all five of YOUR missions, or can you earn it running anybody's Snaptooth mission?

The Skulls are cool now, after reading their backstory. Only one complaint though, I've fought both Marrowsnap and Marrow Drinker, they were only bosses. They aren't as strong in game as we are lead to believe in the backgrounder. I suggest that they be put into a Frostfire size misson or small TF, upgraded to Elite Bosses or weak AV's, be put in the same room on big, gaudy, gothic thrones, and have powers from every dark powerset in CoX.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Two schools of thought on this. One, the Skulls leaders predate the idea of having Elite Bosses. Even after Atta and Frostfire were made, there's only been a couple EBs added since. They should be EBs, but have yet to get a makeover.

The second school of thought says that they shouldn't be EBs because the Skulls are still quite low on the food chain. Duke Mordrogar of the Hellions is only boss level, even though EBs appear in the story arcs of the other two Port Oakes contacts (in fact, I think he USED to be an EB in beta, and got downgraded). The Skulls and Hellions might not have any really powerful guys on purpose.

Now, if you really wanna do a fix for TA/A defenders... Make Exploding Arrow do Smashing/Fire instead of Smashing/Lethal damage. The effect is a giant fireball so it would make sense and would give a better synergy to the two sets.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think this is part of the problem right here. It doesn't do fire damage? Explosives and exploding Steel Canyon buildings do fire/smashing. That just doesn't make any sense.
  9. Question. Obviously Ganymede and Scratch will be going away after the 22nd. What about DJ Zero's missions? Is he still going to be offering the Snaptooth mission to anybody with the Handsome/Beautiful badge after the event ends? Seems reasonable to say yes, since HIS missions aren't really specific to the holiday.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're missing the same thing everyone else is missing: a costume option for male bare legs. It doesn't exist.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The bare legs option for Male and Huge body types has been added to an internal build. It will be coming down the QA path and to a server near you soon.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh wow. You're pushing one little QoL adjustment down the pipe, just for male toga wearers? I mean, it's like five minutes of work for the art guys since the color pattern already exists, but wow.

There's a surprising lack of corruptor guides, relative to other classes. Why is that?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Everyone's playing Masterminds or Thermal Corruptors, I'd wager.

I will never look at an insectoid hero the same way...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Don't look now, but the bug people aren't the only ones. My feline recombinant Stalker doesn't even bother wearing pants most of the time. Even Mynx pulls the Lady Godiva act, standing around all day in Skyway City wearing only a belt. Apparently, if you have enough body hair people don't seem to care if you're running around naked.

How is the trainer idea an issue? Heroes can go train at a hero trainer.. and villians can go train at a villian trainer. Thats what happens in coh/cov.. why not in Pocket D?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Internally, all trainers are the same thing; it just gives you different text based on whether you're hero or villain. As some people mentioned earlier, a villain can go up to Ms. Liberty and gain a level, then be sent off with a "Get out there and do some villainy!" It's just too much extra work to code a "lock" into the trainers, when heroes and villains can't meet each other's trainers to begin with.

A neutral trainer could be devised, but from a RP perspective it would make no sense. This person would have to have the authority to both increase someone's security level in Paragon City (not permission that is handed out lightly, as it's only the trusted signature heroes who can do this), as well as be qualified to increase a villains threat level (also not given out lightly, as only Recluse's arbiters may do this). Who could possibly be trusted to have such permissions for BOTH sides?
  14. I actually have one, even though I don't PvP much. It's not Stalker related, but this seems to have become a general PvP story thread so...

I'm in Warburg with my Ice/Fire Blaster, shortly after Warburg debuted. This nuclear warhead thing sounded interesting, so I was hoping to get in there and shoot off a rocket or two before the villains reached level 30. See, silly naive me thought that there'd be some sort of solidarity among heroes out there.

To sum up the story, I've brought a scientist to the surface, and am taking him back to his bunker when a Fire/Energy Tanker attaches himself to me. Despite frequent interference from another Tanker and Controller duo, he absolutely does not leave me alone. I make it pretty clear that I don't want to fight by avoiding him, but he just keeps coming back and uselessly attacking me.

Bear in mind, he's not really doing much to me. He bounds by and nails me with Stun to slow me down for a moment, followed by some other attacks that knock off half my HP, which I then restore with Aid Self. Lather, rinse, repeat. He is making no progress, but he won't go away. I ditch him, but then he shows up again halfway to the second bunker. He can't hurt me, but he's terribly persistent.

The third scientist, and no sign of him. I get my launch code, flag the waypoint for the nuclear payload, and head back into the Web. Partway there, I hear the unmistakable sound of fire armor coming up behind me. I'd had enough of him by that point, so I turned around, and threw down with him right then and there. With the help of a Super Arachnoid he'd aggroed on himself, I beat him down, let him wander into some Arachnoids, then finished him off myself before he racked up any debt.

I don't think I'll ever have a more satisfying PvP kill as that one.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Whenever I hear "Build Up" go off, I immediately start running BACKWARDS. It's pavlovian, at this point. It's been a long time since anyone AS'd me successfully.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Wait, you can HEAR Stalkers using Build Up? Oh my, I'll have to rethink the safety of toggling Integration in the middle of a zone.

Hmm, running backwards. I have to admit, that would sure throw me off. Hardly the direction you expect someone to run in.
  16. You'd be surprised the stunts some Stalkers have pulled to nail people in mid air. Pro-tip: don't even JUMP in straight lines. If a Stalker can predict your movements, you become vulnerable to what is known as "telestalking".

Conversely, AS is interruptable, which means that a Stalker has to be motionless while he mashes the AS button. It's quite possible to nail somebody as they run by, but it requires the Stalker to be planted right in his victim's travel path. Erratic movement will spoil this.

    Badge Questions

    [ QUOTE ]
If you want to get the badges in this limited window, go ahead.

Although keep in mind that the future may hold far easier ways to get the badges in question.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Lightbulb! Aren't mayhem missions going to send villains into Paragon City to cause property damage?

    [ QUOTE ]
In DJ Zero's mission "Find Snaptooth and defeat him", has anyone noticed that the rikti monkeys from the Monkey Fight club are in the water near the force field at the edge of the map.

Captain Eeep!, Nigel & the others are all there.

I wonder if they count towards the Zookeeper badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh don't say that. I'll bet they DO count. I was looking forward to not having to farm anything on my villain characters.

Since always? What else would she be?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Have you fought her in CoH?

She's not Regen. She's Inv. I've watched her pop Unstoppable

    [/ QUOTE ]
No. Fought her in CoV, but I really couldn't tell exactly what powersets she was using. From my perspective she was a Claws/Get-Mauled-By-Brutes Scrapper. If there was an Unstoppable in there, I missed it (or she doesn't have it at level 30).
  21. Monkey_King

    Toga toga toga!

They need to reverse the toga so that it goes over the other shoulder, so that it at least matches the asymmetrical cape mantle. I don't care if togas were traditionally worn over the left shoulder or whatever, we have left-handed katana users running around. I think we can fudge a little.

Interesting that you can actually solve rules questions by referring back to how the MMO works. I think that's the sign of a well-crafted card game. Of course, that begs the question of whether or not game imbalances affect the card game as well.

I don't know much about the game, so one point of curiosity. Just how well do those 'self-made' cards of your own heroes that you can print off stack up against the existing 'face' heroes?

Oops, villains aren't supposed to be able to get Cap Buster? Oh well. Saves me a little time, since I would have compulsively had to get it on both my villain badge hounds. At least we know!

Yes. This is given to players who got the Toy Collector badge in December.

What? You mean we really will get a snowman gladiator for having Toy Collector? JOY ^________^

    Toga toga toga!

My only concern is that such an awesome costume piece is only available for a limited time. Mark my words, the day after the event ends, I'll come up with an idea for a Roman-themed character, but then I'll be out of luck.
