I'm not normally one to choose powers based on how "good" they are, but I would go with AR/EM. EM is a solid secondary for any character and can easily fit any concept (like with my Rad/EM blaster, EM was just "radiation melee".)
-
As far as I know, each individual weapon model is linked to certain animations. This is why the Tsoo "katana" is for Broadsword and not the katana.
-
Sure, let's get the devs to make two or three different animations for the thousands of powers present in the game. What a great idea.
-
The first power taking enforcement is there for a reason.
-
Remember the Greek heroes of legend? That's the time when Pandora's box was opened before the most recent time (when Statesman did it).
-
Edit: Certain powersets would be restricted from use with eachother to prevent overpowerdness. This happens with Shield Defense (because of weapon problems rather than overpoweredness) so it could happen with the epic AT. This could prevent you from being, say, Energy Melee/Kin, and using Fulcrum Shift + Energy Transfer to more or less brutalize anything in one shot with your 4000 damage or so.

This makes no sense. Think of it this way: if you are the enemy and you see seventeen other guys attacking a person, don't you think it would make more sense to attack the people that aren't being attacked by seventeen guys? The aggro cap makes sense in an in-character, game world sort of way - there are so many guys piled up on that one person that it would just be easier and more efficient to go after another guy.
Of course, nobody cares about common sense because IT'S A GAME LOLOLOL GAMES DON'T HAVE TO MAKE SENSE. Whatever. -
Quote:That's why there's two different ATs, one for offense as primary and one for defense as primary. The primary damage will have lower damage mods, and the secondary defense will have lower resist/defense/buff/etc mods. The idea is that the epic AT's primary won't do as much damage as a blaster's primary and the AT's secondary won't resist as much as a tanker's secondary, but the combination of powers they are capable of having more than makes up for it. Basically, they'll be like [CENSORED] of [CENSORED]craft's Druids - they can be a lot of different things, but not as good as the more specialized ATs.Well, it depends on the damage scale that you would use for the AT. The problem is, that ATs don't have damage mods that adjust on the fly. This AT would need to be able to tell what kind of pairing you had, and adjust the damage mods based on the powerset combo that you make.
An Energy Blast/Invuln character would need to have a damage mod lower than that of a scrapper, to make up for the additional range. But at the same time, an Invuln/Energy Blast character would need to have a lower damage mod than a Tanker, etc.
Minor adjustments would probably have to be made to prevent overpoweredness, yes. -
I had an idea for an epic archetype of sorts that will basically be a combination of any archetype. The idea is that you have your primary and your secondary, but you have a much much larger choice as to what you want.
There will be two of these archetypes: offensive and defensive. The Offensive archetype will have any melee/ranged/control ability as its primary and any defense/buff/debuff as its secondary. For example, you could have an Energy Blast/Invulnerability, War Mace/Force Field, Thorny Assault/Dark Miasma, and so on. You can't have, say, Energy Blast/Electric Blast, or War Mace/Assault Rifle, or Kinetics/Cold Domination. The Defensive archetype will have this reversed: Empathy/Energy Assault, Willpower/Earth Control, and so on.
Ancillary/Patron power pool powersets will be decided based on the primary chosen. Someone with a melee primary couldn't get Primal Forces Mastery, but they could get Body Mastery. Conversely, someone with a buff primary would get Power Mastery, but not Force Mastery.
The only powersets you cannot take are the Mastermind pets as well as powers that are exclusive to blue or redside. If you are a hero, you can't take Pain Domination or Ninjitsu, but you can take Empathy, and if you are a villain, you couldn't take Katana or Empathy, but you could take Pain Domination.
This is an idea I thought up in five minutes, so if it sucks then I understand. -

Illusion/Kinetic controller, able to manipulate reality around him. He has three vital weaknesses: someone finding where he's sleeping and beating him up, psionic damage breaking his consciousness' link to the real world, or someone who has the power to control dreams negating his own. -
What the title says.
If I had enough room on the screen I'd have the salvage and recipe windows up, too, and the Combat tab in it's own window. Just because I like having information. -

Quote:i'm on a mac, which means my screenshots are hidden away inside a game file where i don't have the capability to access them. Yes the mac forum has step-by-step instructions, i did say "i" don't have the capability, not "mac users don't". Sigh.
i guess macs aren't so simple after all huh huh huh -
Quote:Nice attempt, 7/10You know Mondo that last one was well done. I almost took you seriously. Just enough believability to it that made me twist my head to the side and go 'not sure if serious.' Though the beginning and the end gave it away. You'd never call somebody a gentleman, especially on the forums.

My view on RP boils down to the following:
Local: IC no matter what. No exceptions. OOC brackets ALWAYS used in OOC chat.
Emote: IC 99% of the time. OOC in rare occasions (such as being a pretentious twit trying to police the RP of other people through snide comments). OOC brackets not used.
Broadcast: OOC 99% of the time. IC in rare occasions (such as public radio messages or whatever). No OOC brackets used.
SG/Coalition: IC unless SG or coalition is not a roleplaying SG or coalition. OOC brackets used.
Tells: IC if reasoning is valid (telepathy, text messaging, phone, ear comm, ERP sessions). OOC otherwise. OOC brackets used with discretion - if it's a completely OOC conversation, none are used.
Team: IC if reasoning is valid (mind link, ear comms, radios, ERP sessions, etc). OOC if not an RP team. If team members are OOC, no OOC brackets will be used.
Help Chat/Arena Chat/Architect Chat/Request/etc: 100% OOC. No brackets used.
Quote:You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. There is no reason for anyone to use OOC brackets when the conversation is clearly OOC, and anyone who does so is an attention seeker. Anyone who claims it's "habit" is lying. It is impossible to form a habit in which it is physically impossible to not press two button combinations at the beginning and end of every thing you type, without error. That said, I avoid brackets unless there's a lot of in-character dialogue going on and I have to say something that absolutely have to be OOC. . . . Once people start flat out emoting and whatnot, then sure, we're in full on IC mode. . . .There's no need to broadcast that my character does not necessarily think the exact same thing that I do by putting giant bent phallic symbols all over my text. -
Maybe you'd do better in Freedom.
Quote:Having said that, I've noticed that at times when teamed with RPers some do not RP if most of the team is not. Don't do that, if you like to RP do it please...
Quote:I say this for two reasons 1. If you enjoy that part of the game don't stop because others don't
Quote:and 2. as much as I personally do not like to RP I do find it very entertaining when observing others who do, it's almost like watching a superhero movie that I get to be a part of. -
My hero characters try to save everyone they can. They're not warriors or assassins, they're heroes, and they're there to protect and serve the people - even if those people try to fight back.
The only things they would "kill" outright are robotic creatures, demons, Devouring Earth.... that kind of thing. Humans are never "killed", only "arrested". -
