  1. Synopsis: Sharks. Lots of sharks.

LEVIATHAN ASSAULT (Blaster, Defender, Corruptor) You command the almighty forces of the sea, channeling your powers from the very spirits of the great hunters that dwell deep within the oceans. Leviathan Assault is one of the few ranged primaries that offers melee capability. You cannot choose Leviathan Mastery with this powerset.

1/1: Spirit Shark - Ranged, Moderate DMG(Lethal), Foe Terrorize, 80ft
You are empowered with the Spirit of the Great Shark. You can project this spirit to attack and maul your opponent. The Shark Spirit Energy will manifest and attack your foe, quickly dealing moderate Lethal damage over time, and may even have a chance to cause your enemy to cower in fear for his life. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Fast (4 seconds)

1/2: Shark Swarm - Ranged, High DoT(Lethal), Foe Knockback, 80ft
You can send a swarm of several Spirit Sharks after a single foe, dealing high Lethal damage over time. The sheer force of the assault may be enough to knock your opponent backwards. Damage: High, Recharge: Moderate (8 seconds)

2/4: School of Sharks - Ranged (Cone, 30 degree arc, 10 targets), Moderate DoT(Lethal/Toxic), 60 ft
You can call forth a school of vicious Shark Spirits that will swim out in a cone formation and will encircle your foes, draining their spirit energy. The encircling Shark Spirits will deal Lethal and Toxic damage over time. Both you and the target must be near the ground for this power to activate. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Moderate (8 seconds)

    6/10: Shark Scent - Self +To Hit, +DMG
Greatly increases the chance to hit of your attacks for a few seconds. Slightly increases damage. Recharge: Slow (1m 30s)

8/16: Bile Spray - Ranged (Cone, 30 degree arc, 16 targets), Moderate DoT(Toxic), 60 ft
Sharks will eat anything, so their stomach acid must be powerful indeed. You can regurgitate this acid and spew a corrosive spray of bile at a foe. Affected foes in the cone will take Toxic damage over time. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Slow (12 seconds)

12/20: Spirit Shark Jaws - Ranged, Minor DoT(Lethal/Toxic), Foe Hold, -Fly, 80 ft
You can summon a massive Spirit Shark that will attack your foe from below. The Shark will grip your foe with its massive jaws and attempt to Hold the target while he mauls it, dealing Lethal and Toxic damage over time. Flying targets will likely be pulled to the ground. Damage: Minor, Recharge: Slow (20 seconds)

18/28: Shark Beam - Ranged, Extreme DoT (Lethal/Toxic), Foe Disorient, -Fly, 150 feet
With enough concentration, you can channel Spirit Shark energy into a distant foe, summoning the spirit to violently assault the unsuspecting enemy. The sudden shock of the assault can Disorient enemies and even bring flying ones to the ground. This is a sniper attack, and is best fired from a distance as it can be interrupted. Damage: Extreme, Recharge: Slow (20 seconds)

26/35: Water Spout - Pet Summon: Melee (PBAoE, 10 feet, 5 targets), Minor DMG(Smashing), Foe Knockback, Terrorize, Disorient, -DEF
Conjures up a Water Spout at a targeted location. The Water Spout will chase down your foes, tossing them into the air and hurling them great distances. The victims are left Disoriented and with reduced Defense. The Water Spout is a menacing sight, and can even cause panic among your foes. Damage: Minor, Recharge: Slow (1 min)

32/38: Shark Cyclone - Ranged (Location AoE, 30 feet, 16 targets), Massive DoT(Lethal/Toxic), Foe Immobilize, Self -Endurance
The penultimate power of Leviathan Assault is the ability to summon a massive cyclone of Spirit Sharks that totally encompass an area, wreaking untold havoc and destruction on any poor soul trapped within. Foes inside the cyclone will be unable to move for the duration of it, and will suffer massive Lethal/Toxic damage over time. This power will leave you completely drained of Endurance and unable to recover Endurance for several seconds. Damage: Massive, Recharge: Very Slow (4 minutes)
  2. Synopsis: This is a debuff/control powerset will perform similarly to Trick Arrow, providing massive AoE debuffing while being more compatible with other powersets and concepts that may not include a bow-using hero, villain, or rogue. The animations the powers will use will depend largely on the type of weapon a person has. If the person has an Assault Rifle or the Pulse Rifle from the Assault Rifle, Mercenaries or Robotics powersets, they will launch the grenades from the Assault Rifle or Pulse Rifle barrel. If the person has another weapon, like Dual Pistols or Archery, or if the person has a non-weapon powerset, they will use hand grenades. The disadvantage of the faster animation times, damage dealing powers and lack of redraw is that endurance costs and recharge times will be increased.

GRENADES (Defenders, Controllers, Masterminds, Corruptors): You carry a wide assortment of grenades, each with their own special payloads. This support powerset is unique in that it has a few abilities that not only debuff, but also deal damage to the enemy.

1/1: Smoke Grenade - Ranged (Location AoE), Foe -Perception, -To-Hit
The Smoke Grenade envelops all those in the affected area in a cloud of smoke. Most villains will not be able to see past normal melee range, although some may have better Perception. If the villains are attacked, they will be alerted to your presence, but will suffer a penalty to Accuracy. Recharge: Moderate (30 sec)

1/2: Web Grenade - Ranged (Targeted AoE), Foe: Immobilize, -Recharge, -Fly
Upon impact, the Web Grenade expels a strong, tenuous, and very sticky substance that can Immobilize most targets. This non-lethal device deals no damage and does not prevent targets from attacking, although their attack rate is slowed. The web can bring down flying entities and halts jumping. Recharge: Moderate (20 sec)

2/4: Glue Grenade - Ranged (Location AoE), Foe -Recharge, -SPD, -Fly
This grenade carries a cartridge of intensely sticky glue, which explodes on impact. The glue slows the movement and attack rates of any foes in the area. Recharge: Slow (1 min)

6/10: Concussion Grenade - Ranged (Targeted AoE), Minor DMG(Smashing), Foe Knockdown, Disorient
The force of a Concussion Grenade can knock enemies off their feet, dealing minor Smashing damage and temporarily Disorienting them. Damage: Minor, Recharge: Slow (45 sec)

8/16: Gas Grenade - Ranged (Targeted AoE), Foe Hold, -DMG
A Gas Grenade leaves foes in the effected area choking and helpless. Even if they are not affected, their potential to do Damage will still be reduced. Recharge: Moderate (30 sec)

12/20: Frag Grenade - Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate DMG(Lethal/Smashing), Foe Knockback
The Frag Grenade will explode on impact with an enemy, dealing Lethal and Smashing damage to all surrounding enemies as well as knocking them to the ground. Recharge: Moderate (20 sec)

18/28: Sonic Grenade - Ranged (Location AoE), Foe -Res(All)
This grenade plants a sonic resonator at a target location. The vibrations of the resonator weaken the damage resistance of all nearby foes. Recharge: Moderate (30 sec)

26/35: Incendiary Grenade - Ranged (Location AoE), Moderate DoT(Fire)
The Incendiary Grenade contains highly volatile material that will ignite when exposed to air. It will leave a cloud of burning particles that will deal severe Fire damage to any enemy that passes through. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Slow (45 sec)

32/38: EMP Grenade - Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate DMG(Energy), Foe Hold, -Regen, -Recovery, -End, Special vs. Robots, Self -Recovery
This grenade can unleash a massive pulse of electromagnetic energy on impact. This EMP can affect machines, and is even powerful enough to affect synaptic brain patterns. It will incapacitate all foes in its radius. Additionally, most machines and robots will take moderate high damage. However, the blast will affect you too, leaving you drained of Endurance and unable to recover Endurance for a while. Damage: Moderate (High vs machines), Recharge: Very Slow (3 min)
  3. Synopsis: This set is fairly standard in powertype and should play out like a combination of Assault Rifle, Wolf Spider Soldier and Dual Pistols. The primary damage dealt is either 70% Energy and 30% Smashing or 70% Energy and 30% Fire DoT. The aim of this set is to provide a weapon-based set that's actually useful and fun to play, and I think the -res present in almost every attack as well as the AoE Surveillance rather than Aim does this nicely. I built this primarily around concept, and it's an extreme first draft. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

PULSE RIFLE (Blaster, Defender, Corruptor): You wield a high-tech, directed energy weapon coloquially referred to as a "Pulse Rifle". With it, you can deliver powerful blasts of energy to defeat your foes. Pulse Rifles have the ability to lower an enemies' Damage Resistance (about 20% chance for -5 to -10% resist per attack).

    1: Pulse Blast - Ranged, Minor DMG(Energy/Smashing), Foe -Res (5%), 100 ft
This Pulse Rifle can fire a long range laser pulse that can impact an enemy with concussive force, dealing Energy/Smashing damage. The disruptive energy pattern of the pulse beam has the potential to lower the enemy's Resistance to all damage types.
Damage: Minor, Recharge: Fast (4 sec)

    1: Pulse Burst - Ranged, Moderate DMG(Energy/Smashing), Foe -Res (5%), 90 ft
This high powered, concussive laser pulse from your Pulse Rifle takes more energy to fire, but causes much more damage than a standard pulse blast. The disruptive energy pattern of the pulse beam has the potential to lower the enemy's Resistance to all damage types.
Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Moderate (8 sec)

2: Pulse Stream - Ranged (Cone, 50 degree arc, 10 targets), Moderate DMG(Energy/Fire), Foe -Res (5%), 60 ft
Your Pulse Rifle fires a steady beam of energy, damaging all targets within the field of fire. This attack can burn through multiple opponents, dealing extra Fire damage. The disruptive energy pattern of the pulse beam has the potential to lower the enemy's Resistance to all damage types.
Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Moderate (8 sec)

    6: Photon Grenade - Ranged (Targeted AoE, 15 ft, 16 targets), Moderate DMG(Energy/Smashing), Disorient (mag 2, 5 sec, 30% chance), 80 ft
Launches a Photon Grenade at long range from your Pulse Rifle. The energy and concussive force from this explosion can Disorient some targets in the affected area.
Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Slow (20 sec)

    8: Focus Fire - Ranged (Cone, 90 degree arc, 16 targets) Foe -Def (-15% for 20sec), -Res (-10% for 20sec), 100 ft
Your Pulse Rifle contains extremely advanced targeting systems, allowing you to analyze the weaknesses of your enemies. By sharing your knowledge of the targets' weaknesses with your team mates, you effectively reduce their defense and resistance to damage. Recharge: Very Slow (1 min 30 sec)

12: Pulse Stun - Ranged Foe Disorient (mag 3, 15 sec, 100% chance), 120 ft
By firing a low-energy pulse blast, you can quickly and efficiently Stun most enemies. This attack deals no damage, but the energy pattern has the ability to Stun an enemy for quite a while. The low energy cost of the beam allows it to reach much farther than any other attack. Recharge: Slow (20 sec)

18: Pulse Beam - Ranged (Cone, 5 degree arc, 4 targets), High DMG(Energy/Fire), Foe -Res (10%), 60 ft
You can fire an intensely focused beam of energy from your Pulse Rifle that is so powerful, it can actually burn through up a small number of targets, dealing minor Fire damage. The focused nature of the beam comes at a price, though, the range of this attack mode is much shorter than others. The disruptive energy pattern of the pulse beam has the potential to lower the enemy's Resistance to all damage types. Damage: High, Recharge: Slow (12 sec)

26: Plasma Grenade - Ranged (Targeted AoE, 15 ft, 16 targets), Moderate DoT(Energy/Fire), Foe -Regen, 80 ft
Launches a Plasma Grenade at long range from your Pulse Rifle. The white-hot energy can set your opponents ablaze, dealing extra Fire damage. Plasma burns are hard to heal, and can stop an enemy's Regeneration. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Slow (20 sec)

32: Pulse Overload - Ranged (Cone, 10 degree arc, 10 targets), Extreme DMG (Energy/Fire), Foe -Res (10%), 40 feet
You can Overload your Pulse Rifle to deal a massive amount of damage in a single, overwhelming beam that can burn through several targets in a row, dealing moderate Fire damage. The extreme amount of power this blast uses greatly limits its range and prohibits it from being fired often. The disruptive energy pattern of the pulse beam has the potential to lower the enemy's Resistance to all damage types. Damage: Extreme, Recharge: Very Slow (1 min)

  6. I've been having strange connection problems with the Virtue server lately. Every so often, more often while I'm fighting in instanced areas, I'll have sudden bursts of lag, where my ping soars to around 1000-2000. Here's the weird thing: I can send information fine, but it lags when I recieve it. For example, I can send a message to the chat, but by the time it shows up, someone can already have replied to it. I'm very sure it's not a problem with my connection, since I get perfectly fine connectivity outside the game as far as I know of.

Does anyone have any similar problems? I'll post PC specs if they're necessary - I'm running Windows 7.

Here's two netgraphs. The first is the more mild, constant case I get consistently, this was with a light team of 4 doing a paper mission. The second is the more severe case I get while in huge fights, this particular one was during a full LRSF versus Agent Crimson. The very jagged-looking parts of the netgraph are normal - it's the big, long bars that are where the problem is.

The main example that comes to mind would be my bots/traps MM - he's getting on in years, and while he's decently spry for his age, that merely puts him to "average" in CoH terms. But the reason I can get away with this concept build is that an MM only really uses End during the setup phase; most of the time, I just stand back and let the bots do all the heavy lifting.

I wouldn't say that it's an "absolutely required" pool, but definitely a "recommended" and even a "why wouldn't you?" pool.
Fitness was not meant to be an inherent power for characters. It is the person's conscious choice to spend three power choices to get the little bit of endurance recovery they need. It's nowhere near required or necessary. I don't see the point of this thread: why are people whining so much about something they could easily avoid doing?

Wow. Finally someone with a lick of sense. Nobody seems to realize that superheroes can get tired too. And nobody still seems to realize that THE FITNESS POOL IS NOT REQUIRED TO PLAY THE GAME.
  16. I've got a PPD-themed character, Officer McLean, who is a SD/WM tanker in a SWAT Equalizer uniform. He's level 22. I bet he'd be good for this kind of thing, but he's not really a "superhero" type - he's always been a cop. The idea is that he was one of the few selected to "take villains on in direct combat" alongside other superheroes.

My global is the same as my forum name.

Lets face it, almost every archtype at some point or another takes the Fitness pool, or more specifically Stamina. Only VEATs have a version of Stamina as an inherent and they STILL need Stamina. A thought arose to change the pool into auto powers that unlock at certain levels, similar to Rest and Ninja Run (although not quite as soon). Similar to the Cape and Aura missions, although more of a solo-only trial or gauntlet that one must go through. It makes sense, after all when faced with overwealming odds, one steps back for additional training to make one's self tougher. Perhaps it could have a badge associated with it as well or something. Thoughts?
Has anyone told you yet that the Fitness pool isn't actually required and that you are making the conscious choice to give up three of your potential powers in order to have slightly better endurance and health recovery?

Personally, I find this is basically the equivalent of giving the middle finger to the devs. They give you plenty of options to enhance your roleplaying and gaming experience, and you basically say "No, screw you" and utilize your own methods instead.

People that don't really recognize you can use /e for emotes aren't that bad, but those that deliberately not use it? I like to imagine that they're just narrating what they're doing in local. My character, IC, is reacting to what you are saying in local, IC. If your character IC says in local "asterisk smiles broadly asterisk" he'd look a lot weirder in-character than if he actually smiled broadly.
  20. I'd like to transfer 2 billion influence to 2 billion infamy redside. If you don't have 2 billion redside, I'll do a 1 billion influence for 1 billion inf transfer. My character Atomicaster will give one of your characters the money blueside, you give my character Metal Drake the money redside. I will verify that you have the money beforehand, transfer 1 bil at a time, and screenshot the transactions, for security purposes. Send @MondoCool a tell or PM me.

Yeah. And people complain when humans eat animals. At least animals can fight back, plants can do nothing but watch in horror as they're systematically harvested and consumed.
