I'm expecting all sorts of polearms to be available. Maybe some Really Big Swords, like zwiehanders or Those Ridiculously Huge Blades from anime or other games.

I'm hoping we'll get to see some screenshots soon.

I could definitely go with that. If the account hasn't been logged on since global chat went active, even through free reactivation periods, it seems a fair bet that they're not coming back.

If they haven't been playing for 5+ years, they've probably forgotten they even had those names in the first place, and trial accounts shouldn't be able to hold a name for more than a year if they don't upgrade.
  5. Not sure if this has been asked for, but I would like a super-subtle eye glow aura. I mean, so subtle that you can barely tell it's there. I have alot of characters that are 'super normals' or whose powers shouldn't really affect their appearance that much. It might also be nice for the RPers or others who have 'secret identity' costumes, to give a subtle hint that the character is more than they seem to be.
  6. Some ideas:

Costume Change Emotes: I'd like to see some costume change emotes that are more tech-oriented than the ones we have now. A couple examples:

-Orbital Armor-Up: Character goes into a power activation stance (I'm thinking like the 'hands out at sides concentrating' stance), and glowing pieces of 'armor' begin to orbit around them. The pieces orbit closer, finally attaching to the character model in a bright glow or flash, effecting the costume change.

-Orbital Armor-Down: The above in reverse- Character goes into a power activation stance. Body glows, and glowing armor pieces spin or simply fly off of the character, effecting the costume change.

    Some non-tech ones:

-Elemental Change: We can pretty much do this already using powers, but it'd be nice to have them as emotes- Character covers themselves with ice/fire/rock/mist/whatever, and the element breaks off/disperses, effecting the costume change.

-Phone Booth: Little nostalgia trip for some of us- Character dashes into a suddenly convienent phone booth, and dashes back with a full costume change.

Judgement Powers: I'd personally like to see more Judgement powers that fit in with existing character power options, only taken to the Nth degree. Some examples:

-Eye Beam Megablast: Basically, this would be Laser Eye Beams with a wide radius, Core branch leading to standard crit damage, Radial to a -def or resist debuff or maybe a Disorient.

-Storm of Arrows: This would be like multiple waves of Rain of Arrows in rapid succession. VERY rapid succession. *SHOOM SHOOM SHOOM*

-Rain of Shuriken: Character goes into a crouch, hands crossed and going to their belt. They stand up (I'm actually picturing something like the 'Sweeping Strike' animation for Dual Blades) and release a cone of shuriken at the target (similar to the cone from the Cryo Judgement powers, only with sharp pointy things). The secondary affects from the Shuriken powers could be anything, but I'm thinking a mag 4 Disorient, maybe. Or as an alternate...

-Bankshot Shuriken: Character throws a number of shuriken at a single target, and they richochet off to strike other enemies. The richocheting would be somewhat similar to the branching from the Ion powers.

If I think of anything else, I'll post again. Thanks to both my fellow players for inspiration, and Tunnel Rat and the 'mystery animator' for letting us give them ideas.

  9. The "gift" is somewhat overshadowed by the fact that we can't access any open character slots, whether they're bonus slots from Vet Rewards or ones that we paid for.

A friend of mine is so upset that she would have cancelled her account if she could access it, Vanguard pack or no.

This is bad. This is really really bad.
  10. Sounds like the same issue I and a friend have been having. Deleted a char to remake or make a new character, and the available chat slot disappeared.

This really needs to be looked at and fixed.

With the shield away, my guy still throws punches while Ninja Running.

This was using all Bright kicks and punches; he uses nothing but Bright kicks. I didn't feel like spending the money to go back and forth to light and dark. >_>
I noticed something similar on my Shield/Super Strength Tank. With the Shield out, she only used the old animations instead of the newer Heroic ones.

Also, there are some clipping issues with capes, Glam hair, and anything covering the female model's back when jumping forward with Ninja Run active. It's pretty noticable.
  13. Put me in the 'Powers while walking' camp. If we need to Rest we can, well, Rest.
  14. It's happening to me in Mercy Island on Virtue, as well. As a matter of fact, as I'm typing this, I've been loading into this one mission for the past 10 minutes or so.

Once I'm done with this I'll hop on another character. Random CoV zones seem to be unplayable. If I hit the same problem heroside...

Well, I suppose I can find something else to do tonight.
  15. Yeah, seriously. I don't even post here anymore.

    Aw $#!#.
  16. The Knight stood in the citadel, watching the holodisplay. All of Paragon City, and points beyond, were shown, with lights indicating areas being hit. At least the automated repair systems are keeping ahead of the damage, she thought, and smiled grimly. Using their own technology against them. How fitting.

    "Boss. You should hear this."

    "What is it, Night Bird?"

Her student turned on the external speakers of the monitoring station.

"NOTICE TO ALL SUPER POWERED BEINGS:

CONFIDENTIAL MESSAGE RECEIVED FROM OMEGA TEAM:
    OPERATIVE--AJAX

Be advised. Incoming attack inevitable! Evacuation orders for all civilians. Call all available Super Powered Beings. Rikti Alien Invasion NOW!!"

The silence in the control room was deafening. Night Bird turned to her mentor, her voice hushed.

"What does it mean? What's going on?"

The Knight took a deep breath. "It's the final push. The Lineage of War has expended most of it's resources in these prolonged strikes against Paragon and the Rogue Isles. If we can beat them now, we can put an end to their major assaults for good."

She narrowed her eyes and turned back to the holodisplay. "But they know this. That will make them desperate. They'll hit us with everything they can. We have to force them back."

She strapped the reinforced boots and gloves on over her nanoweave suit, and secured the Impervium combat belt around her waist. "Stay here. Monitor the situation, and tell the others. MegaGirl, WildFox, Swiftwing, we'll need everyone we can muster."

"Oh no. No no, I'm coming wi-"

"NO." She held up a finger, warning against any further argument. Relaxing her posture after a moment, she stepped forward and rested her gauntleted hands on the younger woman's shoulders. "Look. I know you want to help. I know you want a part in this, but you can't. Not this time. Everything rides on this. Everything. If something goes wrong, then someone has to survive to continue the battle. Do you understand? You're the next in line."

She turned from her student and put on the reinforced cowl. The recievers in the earpieces picked up and filtered every channel she would need. The smartcloth cape trailed over her shoulders and back and down to the floor.

She was ready. The Hawk Knight turned and spoke to her student one last time.

"I'm counting on you, Night Bird."

    She strode to the telepads.

If Manti and Recluse are working together to fix the timeline (or to alter it), it must have happened after Manti turned evil. Why pretend to be that violent, make up a story about how you killed your parents, if you were going to fix something? If this was something to do for the greater good, why all the subterfuge?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I think I may have an answer for this one.

Imagine you are born into a world very much like the one we live in now, but some crucial event changed your life and you still remember the world we live in now and consider it to be real!.

Manticore was mentored by Back Alley Brawler, but now suddenly the Brawler's all comatose (possibly from some dire mishap Manticore himself was responsible for), but Manticore remembers being mentored by the Brawler. His memory is rich in detail from all the good times they had together that suddenly never happen!

That would tend to make a person a bit insane. They cannot trust their memory because when they compare their internal world to the world around them, there is a major disconnect. They are delusional, and they know they are delusional, but they also know without a doubt that the problem is the external world not linking up with their internal one, not vice-versa.

This would naturally lead to all the problems Manticore is described as having: substance abuse, violent acting out, complete disregard for human life, etc. Even his blunt dismissal of his girlfriend (arrow to the chest is a pretty final way to break up, eh?). After all, from the perspective of his internal world, she's not even real!

So Manticore finds the one person just as insane as he is and joins forces with him: Lord Recluse.

Maybe, just maybe and this is pure speculation now, the main game world is going to become this alternate reality the Paragon Times is hinting at. Only three people remember the world the way it should be: Lord Recluse, Manticore, and YOU! Lord Recluse then becomes the mission contact for villains trying to set things back to normal while Manticore becomes the hero contact.

Or maybe I'm the one who's delusional.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like the way you think

    [/ QUOTE ]

Likewise. Your analysis of what may be going on in Manticore's head sounds pretty spot-on.

Also, I'm thinking that Egon/Aeon/Echo is the key. The 5th Column will return, but not as the cause. Their power in this timeline is broken; they'd have no means. But all it takes is one time travelling mad scientist to go on a bender...

And the Outbreak is never isolated.

The Breakout of the Zig never succeeds.

A man who would be a hero loses his hold on reality and his sanity.

A would-be world conqueror never seizes power.

And the Center does not hold.

Yep. And who did you save him from? His evil twin from another dimension.

Tyrant in a Stateman outfit: "MWAHAHAHAHA!"

Tyrant: "*cough* Sorry, something in my throat. Hey, what's that?"
