On the plus side, VEATs might become useful again, provided they've got someone with +perception on their team.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They can double-stack Tactics. I haven't taken mine into PVP yet, but how effective is that, perception-wise?
  2. So if a 36 month vet rolled an awesome archetype and just happened to make them a catgirl, you'd kick them? Ooo experiment time!

    Bad Miya, back away from the character creation button! ;_;
  3. Actually, Dispari is pretty on there, with only a few numbers being off. Blasters, Scrappers, and Controllers have decent/good inherents, whereas Defenders and Tankers got the junks. All of the villains have awesome inherent abilities, and/or are built around said inherent power (Fury, Domination, Assassination).

Originally, before the hero inherents were retooled, blue-side had only two good inherent powers (Critical, Containment). Since then, Defiance has jumped above both. Trying to compare Vigilance(Negligence) and Gauntlet(You Should Have Taken Taunt) to anything red-side is laughable.

My only 50 hero is a Emp/Dark. Being able to restore health bars is simply a side-effect of having two very nasty recovery buffs (Rec/Reg Auras), as well as two brutal single target buffs (Fort/AdBoost). Corrupters/Defenders need to look at their offensive set as a supplement to their overall performance.

ANY Corrupter/Defender will keep you on your toes if you're playing it right, as you'll be firing off attacks between buffs/debuffs. If you go Pain, I suggest a damage primary (Fire, AR(Ignite/FullAuto), Sonic) so it can couple with your damage boosters from Pain. There's always Dark/Dark (-ToHit FTW), Anything/Kinetics, Anything/Radiation, and Anything/Storm. Thermal can couple with AR decently as well, as Melt Armor is a AoE.

    ...what the heck?
  6. I was looking into this too. SD is just so incredibly fragile.

    But the thought of ShieldCharge>>Stomp/LRod is just so...so delicious ;_;
  7. I suggest another animation 'fix'

Instead of Palm to the Head (Old) and DBZZZZZZ (New), your toon should just reach over and touch one finger to the target.

    End Cost: 10
    Recharge: 20
    Range: 7
    Cast: 2s
    Accuracy: 90%
    Stun: Mag3, 10s
    Self Damage: 10%
    On Foe Death: KB mag50

Yes, it hurls them backwards at terminal velocity if it finishes them off. Use the big flash and boom from the new animation.

    [/semi-sarcasm]

The entire set needs to be re-(re-)balanced honestly. I'd just about say, strip it of it's stun mechanic and increase damage to make it a true ST set. Turn it into an awesome, fast animating, high damage force of death, instead of:

    "Animating.......animating......
    EPBARRAGEBONESMASHERANIMATING.....
    Animating......."

AoE? What's that? Can I eat it? o_O
  8. Even without Tough, I wade into multiple groups of Romans. Between Lightning Field, PSink, Ele Fences, and Ball Lightning all slotted for End, they tend to only get one 'meh' attack in, then are stuck eating a full Fury damage aura with no endurance <3

It depends on your primary, Evil. I'm going to assume you're Ele/Ele? Since Electric Melee is considered the AoE Brute set, the Obliteration set will be your best friend. That translates into 3.75% melee defense per power if you can manage the slots. Jacob's Ladder, Thunderstrike, LR, and Lightning Field = 15% melee defense, right there.

You could throw the Placate proc from Fortunata Hypnosis (Sleep) into Charged Brawl for lulz. Also, with the Electric sets, you can easily sap large groups of enemies at once. I'd throw Performance Shifter into PSink and go for Hasten/SS as your travel power. Up to you though. It's painfully amusing to see SJers with Grounded and no Acrobatics to keep themselves from being knocked on their butts whenever they hop a foot off the ground :P
  10. I'd say a combination of the two above me. My main red-side is a Energy/Electric, and being immune to most of the damage Rikti can throw is delicious. But like they said, when those huge Rikti blades come out, you'd better have Tough running. Even as a NRG/Ele, I still one-shot +2s and below with a little Fury built up.

SS/Electric - Hard to go wrong with Footstomp, Rage=No missing
Ele/Ele - Sure, they have Energy resist. Fury > Resists
DM/Ele - Endurance? What's that? My blue bar? Yeah, it's full...
Axe/Ele - Axe's 'slowness' is offset by Ele Armor's speed
Energy/Ele - Single Target doom, lulz AoE
Stone/Ele - Also brutal ST, has some neat ways to mitigate
Fire/Ele - Zero mitigation, I don't suggest it for Ele Armor
    Mace/Ele - Good mitigation/damage

You'd be happy with any primary. I strongly suggest AGAINST Fire Melee though. Just because you can kill faster doesn't mean you'll survive long enough.
  11. Neither is better than the other, they each have a different application. Yes, you can have them both on at the same time. The difference is, one makes all attacks hit less (Dispersion) and the other forces enemies away from (Force Bubble), which negates MOST melee. Some enemies can brute force their way through Force. I recommend taking both. You'll use Dispersion far more though, due to it's status protection (Protects you and everyone inside from Holds, Immobilizes, and Disorients).

Bats/Tarps called. He said to look up his brochure on an awesome vacation in Taihiti, via Team Teleport. Something about great rates and bonus points.

Roll a non-FF Defender in PvP, then post what you learn here.

I'll cut to the chase for you: HAY TEH GANK BAIT IZ BAK GUYZ LULZ

    ;_;
  14. You won't need end reduction in Fulcrum where you're going.

Where're you going? Transference City, population win <3
  15. Standardization of powersets based on a single value is a very, very bad idea.

Please cite PvP as a prime example.
  16. Sorry, easily excited. I enjoy seeing fun builds and ideas :P

You Leave and come back with a Avitar of some kid grabbing some dudes Ballz and you think I have the problem?

    Grab more Guy Ballz dood.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's from an anime called Full Metal Panic. And he's actually punching him in the groin, over and over. Brutally.
  19. I actually had Imperious turn against us during an ITF run. Well, actually, he only turned against the Blaster that was with us, no one else could target him or be injured by his attacks, but she went toe to toe with him and won the second try (Yes, he killed her the first time, lol)
  20. Castle is probably looking into some way to mesh old and new PVP together. Taunt -range and a few of the other additions were VERY necessary, but DR and Travel Suppression need to go. The global resists are alright, as damage was scaled up to counter it.

Of course, there's still a few things broken (I'm looking at you, Electric Stalkers :P), but those should be fixed in time.

That's what I was thinking. Some kind of endurance discount that gradually decreases. I'd do it differently than the Beginner's Luck though. I'd probably have a flat out 35% endurance discount at level 1, leave it untouched until 15, and then gradually disappear over the next 10 levels.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    /signed

    Definite QoL improvement there.
  22. I still say Beginner's Luck for Endurance. Give it a cute name, like Wippersnapper, or Too Many Energy Drinks Last Night. One through twenty, you get this bonus, and it diminishes slightly every level. Or maybe every five levels...

So my Empath, Pain Dom, Kin, and Blaster are all 'doing it wrong' because they took Flight?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Weren't we right here like, nine months ago, except it was PvP, and it was Stalkers "doing it wrong" by taking Hover?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Something like that. I lose track. The Vicious Cycle, etc.
  24. So my Empath, Pain Dom, Kin, and Blaster are all 'doing it wrong' because they took Flight? :P

I propose lower damage and more variations in the types of ranged attacks. Less 'LOL DAMAGE' and more 'hey he just hit me with Spirit Shark Jaws, cool!'
