  1. Yeah its there...it shows up as 'unusual monster activity in croatoa.' I admit, it could be a bit more obvious..but then..considering how broken the Caleb spawning is..
  2. Agree with pretty much everything here..what needs fixing and the fixes. Good to see nothing too crazy is being proposed.
    Everyone has there 'pet sets' and their pet sets that they want FIXED now, as the most important. An unbiased and pretty accurate list like this would would.
  3. taunt is great on any melee if you can fit it. Personal preference though..on a Tank, 100% take it. A brute..I do also..but you can get away without it.

    It also helps if YOU (because odds are, they wont comment on it) pat yourself on the back when you save someone with ranged taunt, or do a great pull, or a great taunt-herd.

    I'd love for taunt to be an auto power..ranged that is. Off topic a bit..but maybe tankers could get inherent ranged taunt, freeing up a power pick and further specalising them compared to brutes?

    If that is your sole reason..its a crap one. What about all those people who DONT want to play the market (since you know..this is an mmo, not monopoly) then get bent over backwards paying say..20 mil for red fortunes, just cause some rich fool has decided to go and buy up all those recipes?

    And yes..I know you will just make the argument that no one is forced to play the market. But if that is the case..no one is FORCED to try to rip other players off, even if it is fake money.

    I think it might be a good idea..and remove the annoyance of getting a good drop, then seeing your at lvl 37 or 46 or whatever, and because of that, it is not as good as it could be, or worth as much if sold.

    Consume is a pbaoe, that gives you end per target hit, does very very minor damage, as it goes off (ONE hit of damage) and provides some end drain resistance.

    End drain resistance means just what it sounds like...if an attack hits you that drains 25% end (with a base end of 100, thats 25 units of end) and you have the end drain res from consume on (I forget what the value is, but lets say 50%), that attack will only take 13% of your end.

    Be aware, as far as I can remember, consume does NOT provide recovery debuff resistance. That is when a power actually slows the rate at which your regain end, as opposed to taking a chunk of it. Many end modifying attacks do both drain and recovery but Consume only helps vs the drain bit.
    (From what I recall, someone might be able to confirm that)

    So really, while having some end drain protection might sound great..to actually get best use from it, you would NEED to be firing consume every 2 mins, regardless of if you actually need the +end at the time...meaning its very possible that when you DO need the end..it wont be ready.

    Regen aura is not any less lacking at 50, I feel. It is a..subtle power I guess you can say, cause it just sits there improving your regen. And yes destiny rebirth IS popular, but it is hardly a given in every situation, and Regen Aura provides a constant +regen, unlike rebirth. But you can also get Rebirth always active, at the highest level...
    I'd say Clarion is the best destiny for squishies bar none. Especially Radial, with an emp.

    Not sure about skipping regen aura..Sure, Destiny Rebirth is pretty common, but you wont see it pre lvl 45.

    Primal Mastery is good for an emp. Conserve power to stagger with recovery aura (for yourself obviously) power boost for heal and fort and holds, a decent, fast single target blast.

    Some people like pools such as the fire epic on emps, for damage. I say..if you want damage THAT bad..make something that is actually 'meant' to do damage. Also, consume is on such a stupid long rech as to be worthless without major slotting.

  9. There was another good thread on stone armour tweaks the other week. That had some good ideas. Seems like being able to jump is the minimum people would like to see..performance wise.
    I think there needs to be another minimum..for looks. This game has such an amazing costume creator, and NOTHING else in the game murders your work like granite does. And Rock Armour, also stone related. The ice and fire shields can at least be tinted, aside from the epics.
    Dark armour was given options (great ones) to stop the cloak, pulse and fear effects. How hard would it be to just have a stoney tint to your characters skin..instead of just becoming a big boulder.
  10. I am not sure if having additional alignments (well, sort of) like playing from level one as an undercover malta agent would work. A heap of current content would need extra dialogue and mission options. Not saying it would not be awesome..just a lot of work.

    What about...contained stories along those lines, but set up like the Summer Event? An event where you and your team 'become' the malta agents, putting down some rogue supers or whatever?

    That way, they could add extra temp powers into the mission (like the hacker's Stealth etc, but more useful) without worrying about upsetting balance outside of the event (like would happen if your Malta Agent AT got say a free machine gun power from lvl 1).
  11. Like Snow said..they are really not that great. The aoe stuns like flashfire, stalagmites..THOSE are great.

    The idea was also partly to give the aoe holds SOME value vs hard targets. As it is, the single shot ones are a waste of endurance. I am not sure there is any such other class of powers that almost require major slotting..and will basically do nothing to an AV. Then we have the dark hold..a minute long, with a huge to hit debuff..vs single shot and pointless.

    Also in my view, mezzers are pretty useless against major baddies anyway. GMs, no dice at all. Normal AVs, might get them held for a bit of a fight. Trial AVs? No chance. Sure, blast and melee aoes might be less efficient vs an av, but not almost worthless..just due to the ptod. Likewise with aoe debuffs and buffs..then wont be useless either.

    I just think it would be nice in a power you invest slots in, did something a bit more.

    Taking control of players characters by changing the powers is no different than taking control of the player's characters by proliferating mez without providing a mez avoidance solution.
    ...How DARE they change powers in their own game! As much as we like to go on about 'our' game and our toons and our sets..we dont own it at all. If they decide something needs fixing, either plus or minus..we cant do anything, and should not really expect to.

    The devs actually gives us a pretty huge input in changes (most of the time) such as is currently going on with Bioarmour, or the hybrid changes. Using your great argument about how changing powers is 'taking control of our characters' (funny, I never had a Dev suddenly hijack MY PC and start playing my toons), that would mean that after the first draft on any powers, NOTHING would get changed. Ever. Even if it sucked or was broken.

    Can you just get over the fact blasters dont need a mez protection?

  15. Exactly..the recharge is crazy long. Until your perma and have tons. And by then..aoe stuns etc are up enough. The time you would get best use from the mass hold..lvling up..is not really practical with slotting constraints.
  16. Since i24 is apparently the fix all issue..

    Suggestions at the end..I was just getting my ideas down.

    I am thinking Mass Holds. Well..aoe holds I guess I should say. I know doms and trollers are not seen as having many/any issues, and doms did get the changes awhile back...but bear with me.

    Of the 9 troller and 8 doms primaries we have, all but Illusion has an aoe hold. Fire and Ice are rather unfairly given pbaoe mass holds, while the others are ranged, aside from Dark and Earth, which have place patch holds.

    Leaving aside that the powers ARE different, which I dont think is a bad thing (it seems more fitting that glacier forms around you while a charge of electricity would be fired at targets) but going by themeatic reasons, you could most likely make a case for any hold being used either range or pbaoe.

    The trouble as I see it, it that all these powers have crappy acc, low recharges and durations that are SHORTER than the single target versions. If we were just looking at Doms, well the rech and duration are 'somewhat' mitigated at high levels through build to perma dom. Likewise, we could say that the low acc and high rech can be countered by some troller secondaries.

    The trouble is obviously that not all doms build for perma, not all trollers have -def and +rech powers, and those things will apply more so, when you are leveling up the character. Since the snipe change, as an example, seems designed that blast ATs can make use of it NOT just at 50 with tricked out builds, I think the aoe holds should be tweaked a bit.

    Going back to the holds, the earth and dark ones are MILES ahead of the others. Because you can place them at range, you can use them while round corners. They also dont just have 'one' chance to work, if they miss. Meaning they are basically the only 'useful' mass holds when it comes to an AV. They are actually even better fighting hard targets, at you can just drop them (in a league) and get on with doing some damage/support/afking.

    Backing up again, as I said, the fact the holds ARE different..is a good thing to me. In teh same way its good not every blast set has a snipe (and hopefully they get something decent to address any new balance issues). I dont really see the Fire or Ice aoe holds becoming a duration patch..because both sets already have bonfire and earthquake..duration patch controls. BUT I hear you cry..earth already has a great patch, earthquake, and the 60 second aoe hold also! Shenanigans? Or do we just put it down differences?

    I am not going to try compare the aoe holds from different sets..but I will suggest they get improvements. If 'short' range blasts are going up to 80 ft (a change I personally think is just idiotic) how about giving aoe holds back normal accuracy? Especially for the pbaoe holds, that if you miss too many targets, can end in a face plant. At the very least, high base acc would allow for more recharge slotting, especially early on.
    (I find I pick up the aoe hold early on my doms, then it sits there with just the base slot, due to lack of slots till I put IOs in)

    Earth and Dark holds around do more..60 second duration, a huge -to hit in darks case and damage in earths case. Compared to..one shot wonders? That aint even that wonderful?

    More suggestions.

    Give Aoe holds for Trollers a higher chance to cause overpower, so you can actually lock more than one boss down without needing aoe hold + st hold. This would help the troller deal with bosses in that spawn, something that does not worry a dom as much.

    Give aoe holds for doms a -regen effect, either for the hold duration or some external duration, making the hold actually useful vs hard targets. This would help since doms have no source of -regen, where a lot of trollers do.

    Extra suggestion. Make all of the non patch aoe holds have 2 'tics' of Hold applied. One say..5 seconds after the other. This would help both ATs deal with missing, hold resistance baddies, as well as general low slotting in the power itself while leveling up.
  17. I really like the summer event..still doing a few a day. Not bored of it yet. The way the cinema is set up, it looks very likely to show others.
    The posters in the lobby have some interesting ideas that could easily be turned into mini event, using 'our' characters, or the preset type like the casino robbery.

    Hero One: something to do with his life before the rikti power. Brit pop spy/super hero theme and get up.

    Brass Monday: nemesis invasions, mole machines, maybe even 'using' a mole machine.

    The Guard: maybe to do with a preatorion police unit, perhaps giving us roles..the leader, gunner, tech expert etc.

    Ascension: my fav..the Impossible just GOT easier! Something like a really over the top super hero movie, everything really overdone and silly.

    Maybe something like the beginning of Roy Coolings arc, where you go through a building into the streets..let us take the role of a reporter, police sergeant, swat team member etc.

    and not forgetting..the magical super unicorn movie!
  18. Excited for the next. Really enjoyed the first part (of the 2nd lot). Especially the little chatty bits. I still want to be able to ride around the Rogue Isles in MY battleship though.

    You really should check up on things before doing a thread like this. Especially since some fool starts a thread on it every month.

    There is NO lack of content redside at all. Saying there is a 'lack' someone implies you struggle to hit 50 redside, while playing the content that is there. This is utter garbage. Redside actually seems to progress better to me, and has a LOT less of those arcs that send you around to 5 different zones over and over. Or shall I bring up PI and unai's arc? Are you classing that as 'content'? 20 missions with ruptures over and over?

    About all you can actually say in there is an Imbalance in content, simply cause blue has more zones. But again..are there more zones that actually get used? Even more so with DFB below ones basically wiping out kr, steel, skyway, the hollows and faultline.. Oh what about teh Shard? Because that is such a well played bit of content..

    Please think before you say there is a lack of red content. Just cause YOU may not like playing there, does not mean it is lacking in any way. Go have fun doing Unai's arc.

    Oh I am sure it would be limited..that is why i said..keep it at 3 or whatever preset rooms. And the rooms would be pulled out of exisiting map content..meaning no new stuff. Possibly.

    Well couldn't they make pre exisiting lairs? Who says they need to be totally custom? Just a few templates..cave, office, warehouse lair, 3 rooms, done. No custom stuff at all.
