Confirming that you do need Unabashed for the beacon. Someone else in your SG could have collected it in SG Mode I guess, DJ?
[/ QUOTE ]
This is possible too, although at the time I was the only one high enough to get into the RWZ (iirc). Like I said, not sure. -
This is probably the best idea ever.
And to add to it, if the devs give us a closet that we can access from the SG base, why, they'd have to give us some kind of closet base item! Hoorah! -
I didn't have to get Unabashed for the beacon. I went through one day and got all the zone badges in SG mode for the RWZ and, when I got the second-to-last badge (so all but Unabashed) I got the message that the beacon was unlocked.
That's not to say I couldn't have already had Unabashed-it's definitely possible-but since I had no other badges for that zone when I started, it's improbable. -
Ty, Hyper.
BTW, we did end up base editing all night.
Yes, I finally trusted 'Razur with my base editor.
Go see our new dining room. -

Also once you get into the higher levels, I believe lv20 and beyond, it takes 5 scanner missions to get a safeguard mission.

It's still 3 for me on my 48 toon...did one tonight.
The Hollows and Faultline are some of the best low-level content int the game' once you hit 35 you get to do things like raiding the Rikti mothership in the Rikti War Zone and at 45 you can go on a Hamidon raid. These are two of the most outstanding events in the game, requiring a large group of players to work together to accomplish a goal, and pulling them off results in a sense of accomplishment that can be matched (or surpassed) only by hitting 50 the first time.
Of course, you'd have to decide to stick around to experience those. -
Protector: RP-lite, Farm-lite, everything else-lite, and we run a crapload of events. Home of Team Debt Cap(<--exactly what it sounds like).
By events I mean Hamidon Raids, Rush the Rikti, TF Tuesdays, Thursday Night Fights, superteams, New Player Welcoming Night, Badge's random stuff (like the Great Rikti-Robot Rampage)...all kinds of stuff.
Oh and we're the home of the Jello Shooters (where you can find a team to do just about anything, just about all the time, even an ITF on Invincible with all enemies buffed and no deaths) and KJSR.net (<--internet radio station staffed by CoH players, mostly Protectorites). ^_^
Redside population is usually quite low; we're mostly blueside-oriented. A lot of writers are on Protector and, although our overall population is not that high, I'd like to think we have a smaller percentage of "bad" players than most servers. -
We were Task Force Marjoram (we get the DUMBEST names, I swear!) and we finished it in 1:17:??.
Next week, Manticore!
We;ll need at least 7 people for Manti, between 30 and 35 for xp. There are 10 missions, worth 32 merits, and we will be ghosting where applicable, as usual. -
Instead of starting a new thread for this question, since it's probably a really simple answer, I decided to just add it here...
When you upgrade your base plot, does the cost count all the prestige you have spent on your base as well as what you have available, or no? -

People never use sarcasm on the internet.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's because the internet is serious business. -
Love the scrying garden!
How did you get the bookshelves to stack like that? I've been trying with no luck. -
Lovin' the art in this week's Scoop.
-
Blind invites are rude.
There is no such thing as a "blind tell".
As long as you say something in the tell along the lines of "Hi, want to help with a level 13 Frostfire mission in the Hollows?" or whatever you're doing, you should be fine. -
OP, I know exactly what you mean...I thought I loved my tank until I made my emp/rad defender. I log in on her just to sit and hang out if I have nothing better to do, fly around in circles, streetsweep, anything I can think of as long as it's not playing an alt.
-
Join Jello Shooters. Someone is almost always running a TF of some sort and there's an ITF just about every night.
Some of them are crazy, like the invincible-no-deaths-enemies-buffed-2-hour-ITF we attempted (and failed) last week, but most are either normal, speed, or invincible (or some combination of the three). -

I had just come into base from a mission, with WRider, another Teamster, on my heels, when we heard yelling from the control room. Frowning and fearing the worst, we ran through the base, only to find Snap waving a sheaf of papers about, dancing exultantly in midair.
"I know what it is!" she shouted. "I know what the Tome of Hequat is!"
The noise also brought Alaric, who deftly snatched the papers from her hand and perched on the back of a chair, reading them over with a thoughtful look on his face. They'd been digging for information on the Tome of Hequat ever since rescuing a hostage from the Circle of Thorns a week before.
He glanced up and frowned at Snap, who had come to a hovering halt in front of him, holding out her hand for the return of her papers. "Are you sure this is right?"
"Positive. The Tome of Hequat is a book of magic spells and incantations. No one knows what they do."
"If no ones knows what they do, why would anyone want it?" WRider asked. Obviously he was as confused as I was.
"I have no idea, but I'm pretty sure that book should be in M.A.G.I.'s vault." Snap answered.
"But this fellow in black possesses it, does he not?" Alaric frowned. "The one who stole it from the Circle of Thorns?"
"True." Snap sat down on the table, her forehead wrinkling in concentration. "If we want to find the Tome, we have to find him first..."
The radio clipped to her belt squawked. Catching it up, she spoke into it. "What's up?" A voice on the other end spoke back to her, too quiet for me to hear. "You need me for what?" The voice spoke again, and her frown deepened. "Okay, I'm on my way. Yeah. From the base. No. Okay, I said! Yeah, well, nobody asked you."
She switched the device off and clipped it back onto her belt, then stood up and hovered slightly above the table. "'Razur needs my help...they've got a whole team of people going in to banish Jack and Eochai again. Looks like Dread Omega's going too, so it should be a good time. Keep thinking on this Tome thing-now that we know what it is we just have to figure out how to get it. Laters, taters!"
She flew out into the telepad bay and was gone faster than anyone could say anything. -

Not that I ever stop editing, but this is currently what our base looks like. The only rooms I did not include shots of are the personal rooms used by the members, since some of them are works in progress/not even started. Many thanks to all who gave me input on the kitchen and to anyone I may have inadvertently borrowed an idea from. ^_^
-
Thanks for the help! Now all i have to do is wait for my SGmates to all go to bed so I can work on the base without them asking a bajillion questions...lol.

To add to the, the ball from Katamari Damacy (I think that's the name) is towards the middle right, and there's a Pac-Man arcade machine near the maze behind the Pong Cafe.

Someone may have mentioned this already, but you and your friend can team if you are both on trial accounts. It will require the help of someone who is not on a trial account. You will need to have this person invite both you and your friend to a team and then they will have to quit the team. The game is very soloable, but is much more fun on teams.
What server are you playing on? Each server has its own unique strengths and weaknesses in different types of game play-for example, Virtue is the roleplay server, Freedom is a good server to PvP on, Protector has a little bit of everything. If you prefer certain aspects of gameplay over other aspects, you may want to tour around the server forums and see what kinds of events are listed and what kinds of issues are being discussed. It won't always help you gauge which server is best for you, but it can definitely help to familiarize you with the kinds of players on each server.
Welcome to the game, both you and your friend, and hope you decide to stay a long long long long time! -
I've built a little kitchen in an "apartment" one of my toons has inside the base, and I can't for the life of me combine stuff to look like a stove or a fridge...although I do have a pretty sweet cookbook rack, pics to be posted soon (tm). Can anyone help me out with some ideas for how to build appliances? Thanks in advance!

"Why are we doing this again?" I muttered to Alaric as we slogged through yet another sewer in search of a hostage taken by the Circle of Thorns. "Why can't these people just carry mace or a taser or something? Why do we have to go creeping along through disgusting sewers, getting slime and gods know what else all over ourselves, just to rescue someone who could not be bothered to defend herself?"
"'Tis the noble thing to do," Alaric pointed out. "And if we did not this, then with what would we spend our time?"
I shot him a Look, one of the ones with a capital L I had perfected on 'Razur months ago. "We would have lives, maybe? Do important things, like save the world? Isn't that what the hero gig is all about, saving the world?"
"And also defending those who cannot do so for themselves. Look, the one we seek is just ahead!"
I grinned. We were behind the group of Circle of Thorns mages, obviously not where they expected us to be. Dr. Sophia Jones was arguing with them, something about how she would never help them and heroes would arrive soon.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Alaric draw his bow and pick a target. Good sidekick, I thought to myself, smirking inwardly.
Balling my hands into fists, I summoned the magical energies inherent to my changed form. "One..." I muttered softly.
"Two..." Alaric answered, holding steady.
"Three!" I lobbed a ball of magical energy at the head mage, stunning him, while Alaric had already fired his first shot and was busy drawing on his control of electricity to cage the mages I hadn't stunned. We dodged their attacks, retaliating carefully, and I did my best to heal any minor damage done as fast as I could. Finally, between the two of us, we had downed the group of enemies, and Dr. Jones ran to us.
"Thank goodness you're here!" she said. "Please, let's get out of here!"
Alaric and I were only too happy to comply. We led her back through the labyrinthine maze of tunnels, unsurprised when no ambushes blocked our way. After the decimation we'd rained on the group when we first arrived, we had no doubt they were in full retreat.
As we arrived at the door, Dr. Jones turned to me. "Snap Play, there is something you must know," she said. "A few days ago, this group of Circle of Thorns was attacked by a man in black. He stole an artifact called the Tome of Hequat. I overheard them talking about it-it has some sort of divine power. You may want to check it out."
"Thank you," I said, somewhat warily. You don't usually get good tips from people in sewers or from hostages. Still, I supposed it was my duty to at least consider it.
"You are truly heroes!" Dr. Jones said as she ran out the sewer exit, leaving myself and Alaric to our own devices.
I turned to look at him as we emerged into the sunlight. "You still can't fly, can you?"
He shook his head. "I fear not. However, my Security Level is now thirteen, or will be after I train."
"Fair enough. C'mon, o useless sidekick of mine, I'll teleport you to Valkyrie."
Alaric grinned, responding with a completely innocent face. "Yes, Mistress Snap..."
"You learned that from 'Razur, I know that..." I replied, taking off and heading towards the center of Steel Canyon. -

Hammocks! Maybe strung between posts that stick out horizontally from the wall. Then we could make things like dorm rooms a lot easier (because we're superheroes, most of us have no problem flying/jumping/teleporting to get into the bunks on top) and they would look really nifty in some of the outdoors-type bases!
