I bought my laptop from Best Buy when I graduated high school. I had to go to the store I'd ordered it from, only to turn around and go to another store in the next city over, only to pick up the actual laptop there and be told to go back to the original store to have the extra memory I'd ordered installed. The tech folks there made me leave my brand new laptop with them for a week so they could install one stick of DDR2 memory, which doesn't take ten minutes, but it would violate the warranty if I did it myself. I left the laptop, picked it up a week later, and it already had scratches on it. I didn't see this til I got it home and out of the box (the first time I'd even touched it!) and when I called them to ask about it they said I must have dropped it. The scratches weren't a huge issue for me since they didn't affect the laptop's performance, so I gave it up. After that, couldn't figure out why nothing worked right on it for the longest time. Turns out they sold me an EU model that was never supposed to be released in the States and so the US drivers wouldn't work properly with the hardware (of course). At the point we figured that out, Charlie and I built my desktop PC, since by that point the laptop had completely fried anyhow (all the fans burnt out at once) and I wasn't incredibly willing to go back to Best Buy to see if they'd honor the extended warranty on it.

If it weren't for all the people who'd lose their jobs, I would hope they'd go out of business. As it is, I'm hoping they get picked up by new management. BETTER management.

EXTREMELY nicely done! I'm so jealous of that volcano.

For the record, my point was that while the fine men and women who serve our country do get days off, they do not always have a choice as to whether they get to enjoy them or not.

Just because we say "You have a day off today" does not mean people will stop shooting at them, insulting them, or trying to kill them.

It is my opinion-wrong, right, or otherwise-that we do not get a day off for Veteran's Day because those in active service of our country may not have a chance for a true day off until they come home, be it for a visit or for good, and many even then are unable to stop reliving what they have seen and experienced every day.

And since I'm here, I would like to thank once again the people who have fought and died to make sure that I have the right to state my opinion without having to worry that government officials or anyone else will come barging into my house to haul me and mine off to jail or worse. It is a freedom often used and often taken for granted, and far too infrequently appreciated.

I forgot to add this in the "Other" section, but add me in for "roleplaying" too. :P

The Count: To all our listeners, this is what I have to say - God bless you all. And as for you bastards in charge, don't dream it's over. Years will come, years will go, and politicians will do **** all to make the world a better place. But all over the world, young men and young women will always dream dreams and put those dreams into song. Nothing important dies tonight, just a few ugly guys on a crappy ship. The only sadness tonight is that, in future years, there'll be so many fantastic songs that it will not be our privilege to play. But, believe you me, they will still be written, they will still be sung and they will be the wonder of the world.
