Sooner, which "style" of hers is that? Cel-style?

That's really nice! Hmm, I wonder if I can afford three commissions... xD

Quote:Actually, I do-because while when my SG is on, yes, I do tend to team mostly with them, when they're not on or we have a few spots open, I'll invite anyone who wants something to do. I run PuGs and keep an eye on multiple global channels. I've never teamed with some people, but I know them by global name and reputation because I pay attention to what goes on around me on Protector. You recognize globals at the RtR because you see those same globals every RtR. I bet you recognize a lot of globals because you team with them night after night. Do you recognize globals beacuse you see them all over, commenting and running a variety of toons through mish arcs or TFs? I bet you don't.
Maybe part of the problem IS that most people don't look outside of their own little groups, but you certainly can't ascribe that behavior to everyone.
Also, SterlingSteel, while I am more or less familiar with Project Checkmate and I have been witness to some of the, ah, behavior you mention that might have given the SG a bad reputation, a few bad apples does not a rotten barrel of apples make. Hit me up sometime with a PM, I have coalition slots open for the Teamsters if you don't mind coalitioning with a bunch of roleplaying loonies. -
I won't comment on Jello Shooters, since I haven't been a member of that channel for nearly a year now, but this is something near and dear to my heart:
Quote:I don't think that's entirely true. I do see people stepping up. I see things like Strike Force Sundays, Task Force Tuesdays, the Mentor Project, the N P C channel, Protector Vigilance, scheduled TFs, weekly rp nights (for some people, anyhow)..and with some of these, I see circumstances changing. People are getting jobs, going back to school, having kids and raising them, starting and ending relationships, having love affairs with other games. Change is really the only constant, and while people do make an effort to get involved in the server, I think it would help if the server would make more of an effort to get involved BACK. Join an event if you have the time-even if you're not SUPER interested, you may become more interested as it goes on. Point people to other Protector global channels and to the Protector section of the forum, yell out if you have a few spaces open on your team even if it means you get a few people you normally don't team with, or, if you have a free day off or two in a row, set up an event here on the forums.I see people complaining and I see few stepping up and doing things to better the community. WTH happened to us?
I do still believe that Protector is a very close-knit community, and that's reaffirmed every time I go to RtR and recognize most of the players there by their globals or supergroups, or every time a situation like the hurt-and-heal here on the forums arises and we all band together to defend our server's honor. There's not a whole lot of Protectorites compares to other servers, but we're definitely not the smallest server, and I've been told by players who have transferred from other servers that we're a very tolerant server overall. There is no playstyle (except maybe PvP) that doesn't have a niche on Protector.
I guess all I can really say is, Protector's changed a lot since I joined CoH. Some of the changes may not be for the better, but, again, change is the only constant. I believe that if this thread can be an open, thoughtful, tolerant discussion of different playstyles and different points of view, it could go a long way to bring Protectorites even closer together, and maybe start the pendulum swinging back the other way. -
Well, one of the pieces (and I'm thinking about Juggertha for this one) is going to be Tamsyn Blackthorn (my claws/wp scrapper-slash-brute) facing off in the Arena with Tarantula Hawk (Vulpy's katana/wp scrapper).
The other one, the one I am not sure who I want to draw it, is going to be Snap Play and Blackrazur (and possibly Alaric Stormwarden if I can figure a way to work him into it. >.>) The first one is very action-y and the second one is...well, not. Hee. The second piece is going to be pretty dark-ish and a still pose, so I'm looking for someone who can take the inherent oddness of the relationship between the characters and work with it. -
Okay, Protectorites, now that I have a new job, I'm looking to do something I have always wanted to do and never been able to afford before.
I'd like to get some fanart done of a few of my characters, and I'd like to know which artists you guys have gotten work from. I've seen a lot of beautiful stuff posted in this forum that you guys have commissioned, and I'd love to know who it's by!
If you've got a recommendation for an artist, please let me know! -

I'm not working tomorrow. Count me in. -
<points back several pages for an example of how long it has taken to run this in the past>
I kept track of those times for a -reason-, my friends. -
Actually, you can only have one of each CoH code. One CoH, one GvE, one CoV, one Collector's Edition, etc.
-
We've pretty much become a solid roleplay SG though, so if you don't roleplay yourself, we may not be a good fit for you. We do have a few non-rpers, but they're pretty inactive.

Hey all!
Sorry to say, with the new job, I'm having to cut some things out of my gaming schedule. Unfortunately, it looks like Task Force Tuesdays and Shard Saturdays are going to have to be the first to go.I will no longer be able to organize or run them, although if I'm home and able to stay for the whole time I might join in if someone else decides to run them. I'm hoping somebody out there will have enjoyed Task Force Tuesdays enough to pick up where I left off, and if someone wants to, I'll be happy to answer any questions about organizing it they might have (although it's pretty simple). Thanks for nearly a year's worth of great TF runs and tons of fun, all!

It looks as though I will be working this weekend.
Hopefully, someone else will pick up the torch and see this event through to the end. -
Thanks all, I'll be in touch.
And once I actually get -on- a schedule, I may actually be able to keep running stuff, but for right now they're going to be putting me on all sorts of wonky hours til they figure out where they want me, so I may not be around much.
-
Okay. I'll update the list.
Also, turns out this is going to be pending whether or not I have to work. Interesting how that turns out, you plan thing when you don't have a schedule and then suddenly you find you do. >.>; -
What we may end up having to do is kick the Shard TFs out of the Tuesday rotation (at least the Q and the Faathim) and schedule a separate weekend time for them. However, this is going to be difficult for me, since I'm getting a job and have no idea what my new schedule will look like. I may have to turn TfT over to other willing hands who have more time on them. If you're interested in helping out, I'll still run TfT when I CAN be here, but I'd like to know that someone will keep it going when I can't. Please PM me and let me know if you can help!
EDIT: And it turns out that I did in fact get a job today, and my orientation is on Tuesday. I'm going to call off this week's TfT on account of needing to figure out scheduling for a while, and hopefully we'll be back on track next week somehow or other. -

Monday nights are out for myself and Mionas since we participate in a D&D game that night.

Okay, so, APPARENTLY I am just not destined to do this without trouble...le sigh...there's a volunteer recognition thingy I need to go to on Sunday the 21st, as I've just discovered. If we can, I'd like to push back the Sunday time to about 5 pm EST. If you've already signed up and this is a problem, please let me know. I'm so sorry, you guys. I did not anticipate there being so many scheduling issues.

We finished the Imperious TF in 1:55:01. Nice work everybody!
Next week, Dr. Quaterfield! We will be starting this TF on Tuesday and running it straight through, since I've never had it take more than 5 hours before. Be prepared!
