Running a CoT without ghosting isn't that hard within the time limit. I would suggest scouting out the caves beforehand, but the actual map is small once you get to it and there aren't that many mobs. As long as you stick together on the way to the door (lead by someone who knows how to get there) and stay organized while you're clearing, and don't click on the big door until everyone's ready, you should be good to go.

Interesting points. I do think that there's a certain amount of hypocrisy involved in being a hero, because you're choosing to be set above the normal people (the majority of whom don't go out of their way to help strangers).
I do think it's more interesting to see super-powered beings screw up than it is to see "natural" human heroes screw up though. When a super-powered being messes up, there really is that level (like Stale said) of watching them for the slightest slip of character so that we can point them out to be just as flawed as we mere mortals are. When a "natural" human hero messes up, though, we sympathize much more easily (at least I do) because, after all, they're only human. -
Quote:I did say proportionately. I'm also not a fan of super-angsty "Oh noes, everything about my life is so awful but I must serve the greater good" heroes. There is an irritating tendency for heroic characters to be drowning in angst. If done well, this can be good.
Unfortunately, the majority of characters like this tend to be nasty little Mary Sue, cliche-ridden messes.
I do however like villains (who have sucky lives) who want to make everyone else just as miserable as they are. I sympathize with that some days.
What I'm talking about here, I guess, is that when an ordinary person makes a choice, it affects their life and maybe a few others, but sometimes when a hero makes a choice, it affects a lot of people besides themselves-and sometimes the choices they make end up humanizing a hero to a point where it's easier for an ordinary person to sympathize with them.
What it comes down to is, do the personal failures of heroes have to be that much greater because they are heroes, or would "ordinary" failures make them just as human, if not more so? -
Group Name: The Teamsters
Server/Game: Protector/City of Heroes
Theme: None
Webpage: Our forum is located here.
Contacts: @DJKyo, @Dr. Scrap
Usual Activities: Roleplaying (both in and out of missions), creating and playing AE arcs for the purpose of advancing personal and SG storylines, task forces in character
Other Activities: Shenanigans. No, really.
Background & Structure: Started as a group intended for heroes who enjoy teaming, the Teamsters became a roleplaying SG after the original leader left the server. We've got a little of every origin (a LOT of magic origin) and many of our members play faerie characters (related to our story). We're always in character and always willing to team with other SG members and coalition members, and all of our coalitions are roleplaying SGs as well.
Admission Notes/Requirements: We accept pretty much anyone who's willing to stick around and put forth effort to get involved. If you want to run with us once or twice before joining, you're more than welcome to test the waters, just send me a tell and I'll let you know what's going on and help you get involved. -
So, a thought which occurred to me while writing earlier, which I would like to know the opinions of others on:
Because a hero is so much more than an ordinary human, his or her personal failures and tragedies must be proportionately greater.
Please discuss. -
I keep forgetting to say this, but I guess now is a good time-or really as good a time as any.
Grey, if it weren't for your accidental inviting of your global friends into a certain channel we both know and love, I would not have made many of the friends I have and love today, and I would probably not be playing the game still. Thank you -so- much for being a butterfingers at that precise moment in time. Those people lift my spirit, comfort me, and make me laugh every day, and I am proud to be one of them. -
Still can't seem to get it to work, but now it's because it's telling me my Titan Network key doesn't work. -.- Despite the fact that I logged into CoHFaces with it just fine. I give up; I'll just keep tracking my badges the old-fashioned way.

My server 'tis of thee, sweet land of moar expee, of thee I sing
Place where the baddies die, place where the debt comes high
From ev'ry buildingside, we badassery bring.
Yeah, okay, it doesn't exactly rhyme, but you get the point. :P -
Thanks! I'll look over those links later, now that I've finally had enough sleep for words to make sense again!

I seem to be having trouble getting HeroStats set up on my system, and while I've looked around for some kind of instructions, I haven't really found much except to run the program while I'm running the game (which does nothing, apparently). Any Protectorites out there running Herostats? Can you give me a hand? Thanks in advance!

Also voted. I have it bookmarked in my browser-makes it nice and easy to find.

Honestly, I like some of the second place ones way more than the first place ones...
-
Well, and I'm assuming here, but once the first cut is made, there will be a lot of voters who no longer have their original contestant in the running...some of them will stop voting altogether, but some of them may also end up voting for the remaining contestants.
-
Voted as well. He's been sitting in the third spot on the second page for a while now, but he's creeping up on the guy in front of him. It's in the announcements on KJSR now, maybe that'll help get the word out too.
-
I'll set my alarm clock. <yawn> My blaster needs the merits, and I haven't teamed with you guys in far too long.

LOL! I'm not totally sure, but I think some of the other DJs are going too (though probably not in costume)...and I heard a sneaky rumor that MI Abrahms just might be there too...
-
Charlie and I are signed up and we'll be there in costume!
Who else is going? -
We do have roleplay on this server though-if you're interested in that, send me a PM and I'll be happy to tell you more.

I definitely recommend getting the "stuff" though. I'm talking magic pack, cyborg pack, martial arts pack...FUN stuff!
