  1. 2 Accuracies is plenty enough IMO, you could swap one for a recharge, to get that fury going. You also appear to be rather light on attacks, especially at the lower levels. Ideally you want 4 attacks, so I'd try and get Shadow punch and something else, maybe Air Sup? it's wonderful for 'soft' control. Siphon Life isn't really an attack. As you have Siphon Life you might want to think about dropping a heal in Aid Self and going for another recharge instead.

    Regen or Inv

Invuln is about getting the mob around you to give you the defence (it's really a def based set, not a resistance based one) so you don't get hit. Regen is all about healing back the damage the bad guys give out in various ways quicker than they can dish it out, all the time dishing our your own damage. I've only tried Regen to about lvl 16, Invuln to lvl 50 as you can see, and even at low levels I much preferred Invuln. Only pain is the end cost to begin with. only with Invuln can you get into the middle of a mob and laugh as they can't hit you.

    Brute Help...

IMO Stone kinda goes against the Brute way. It's so slow with Rooted and/or granite you'll usually end up toggling them every 10 seconds or getting really frustrated at your lack of speed and your fury dropping.
  4. Same as Spad there, DM/EA you can drop Stamina as I have and I rarely have end problems, escept against carnies. usually you can save a few blue insps cos you won't need them against anyone except carnies!

    energy A

you will be kinda squishy before you get SO's, but as a set it's not really that different to, say, SR for a scrapper. it has alot of toggles so Stamina is going to be a must until the higher levels, where you can pick Conserve Power and Energy Drain (auto hit BTW). Paired with something that lowers accuracy, like DM, or something with an 'extra' effect like Energy melee it can be very powerful. I love my DM/EA brute to bits, even more so now that I have overload.
  6. And with EA later on you get Energy drain, which is auto hit so no acc's required, you can stick to recharge and end mod's, and you also get Conserve power if required.

The one on the left is energy, with tough, weave and combat jumping and the passives, the one on the right is elec with tough and weave and combat jumping.

(Probably - and that means I've spent far, far too much time looking at the numbers )

I've got one of each - didn't bother with tough/weave on the energy brute, or the passives, and he does more than ok, and my elec brute is getting tough, but not weave. Aidself is a must on both builds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Got a DM/EA without aid self, and she seems to manage just fine.

    /kin question

    [ QUOTE ]
remember that any build needs to be fun for you. People may suggest powers and stuff otherwise but what it boils down to is that you need to create a character you really enjoy playing. Go forth, experiment and see what you can come up with!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    AMEN!!!
  9. I think the one on the right might be DA or Stone, the one on the left EA.

    /kin question

I'm afraid you either have to neglect your secondary (madness, why pick it to ignore it) or embrace it. I'd say it's OK to drop speed boost, it's not a mandatory pick for a kin controller, and with it being so late it's not unexpected not to have it. Problem with anything to do with Kin is there's always something to do, a buff or debuff needs doing somewhere. if you're looking for a 'sit back and take it easy' set, pick FF, not Kin!

    Elec/NRG build?

What about this? SLotting can be tweaked but I've got the overall idea.

    Elec/NRG build?

Pretty much going to be PvE only so i'll take everything, take SS as my travel power, slot hurdle on the way to Stamina and not really go for anything else?
  13. Miss Chief

    Elec/NRG build?

Now this is only my second Blaster ever, so go easy on me.

Anything I should avoid like the plague? Anything I must take for certain? She's only level 4 at the moment, but I'm having fun so far!

Really just general advice, no real preference for travel power, and do I really need Stamina, or is the 'some end may be transfered back to you' bit enough to keep me running if I slot correctly?
  14. DM is pretty cool, simply because negative is one of the least resisted damage types in the game, and you also have a Cone attack, a PBAoE Damage buff/Attack, and end regen move which also damages and a fast recycling attack chain. EA is alright, but really shines when you get Overload. The other EA defences are reportedly one of the lowest in the game (not sure on numbers) and it too has Conserve Power available as well as Energy Drain, which is auto hit, making a Stamina-less build a real possibility at later levels. NRG primary is pretty good cos you always have the inherent stun possiblity, and 2 damage types, much like DM, in this case Smashing and Energy. It's rare to find a critter resistant to both. I love my DM/EA brute, but she was very squishy at lower levels.
  15. I'm running Tictacs, Assault, Stealth, Sprint, Obsidian Shield and oppressive gloom and I don't have Stamina either. TBH I miss Hurdle more than stamina. You do need to watch the end bar carefully though and make sure you get the last transference in before the last bad guy dies!
  16. Yes, that is a bit of a strange one, Unyielding does everything you could ask for. You could take Resist Elements for an extra little bit of resistance.
  17. Air Sup works really well for DM brutes cos there's no weapon to draw so it's just like any normal attack. I don't think I even have it slotted with anything other than accuracy though, I just use it for the minor control aspect. With full Fury it does decent damage, and you can usually get in your Shadow maul or Smite and Shadow punch which will get rid of most critters anyway.
  18. I believe 2 int redux in heal self is perfectly doable. Might want some recharges in your attacks to help with that fury building. Seems you might be standing about waitin for attacks to recharge, altho DM isn't so bad on recharge, I get by with a 4 attack chain.

There's a theory for brutes not to slot damage at all, or not run all 3 slots damage and slot for recharge and rely on the fury to give the damage. I prefer a mixture of damage and recharge, with the odd acc thrown in.
  19. What's your secondary? parry is always a safe bet, Whirling sword is always handy. LBE is kinda pants IMO!

Wouldn't be putting ToHit's in invincibility, the boost is pretty small AFAIK. Might want to consider taunts there instead.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The idea of putting taunts into Invincibility as a scrapper gives me the shivers. In my experience I tend to attract a lot of aggro on teams due to my spines attacks and I find I only survive through very careful use of insps, aid self, dull pain and unstoppable. The last thing I'd want to do in general team play is keep all the bad guys around me perma-taunted on me - if I found myself on a team short on buffs and heals I'd never survive Maybe for katana or broadsword scrappers with the extra defense buff it'd be a better option but if I was going to put extra slots in Invinc. on my scrapper it'd be tohits slotted, not taunt. Other inv scrappers experiences/opinions may be that taunts are fine of course.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, but thanks to the defence when there's a large mob around you they have a hard time hitting you anyway. As an Invuln scrapper I've found that once the mob has been thinned out is when you're likely to get hit more. usually, thanks to AoE and cone attacks in my BS primary the minions get 'arrested' first and then the bosses are left, and they hit hardest. The def I get is lower due to the lower mob size and they have a higher to-hit, that's when I need to use insps and Dull pain.
  21. Disagree! Regen is all about healing back the damage you take. IMO it's better to resist or not get hit at all. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen a regen take a whole mobs alpha strike and faceplant. Regen is all about low down time and damage being healed back. It is a good set, combined with something like katana or BS it can be very 'uber' indeed thanks to DA or Parry giving a great amount of defence.
  22. Miss Chief

    Kinetics....

I'm sure I read somewhere that a SR scrapper, running hasten and quickness would need 20 Speed boosts to make hasten perma.
  23. Miss Chief

    Kinetics....

Siphon speed does stack, but the most you'll be able to stack is 3, and only for a little while. perma hasten isn't possible, it's not a 100% buff.
