Phobos is correct. When I used to run herostats by far the longest list of powers waiting to recharge was always on my TA. I got the list to stretch halfway down the screen once. After that I stopped using it cos it took up too much space! When I sometimes play my FF Defender on union I still use it, otherwise I'd forget to buff everyone!

And yet my Invuln scrapper doesn't have anything from Fighting Pool or anything from medicine pool and still does OK? (I know this is the tanker forum!)

Sure, these things are useful and can increase your survivability if you don't want to stop between mobs but I'd say they're certainly not mandatory. Besides GDm was done to make teaming with buff characters far more appeailing. Sure an Invuln tank can manage a mob without buffs? (Some enemy types not withstanding of course!)

Was playing on a TF with my TA/pointy sticks who seemed to take great pleasure in using telekinesis to move the mobs out of my dispersion arrow and burning oil lsick with amazing regularity. Sure the mobs were held but scattered all over the place in every corner rather in a nice tight bunch.

CoH was also my first MMO and while I've played others in beta or for a few months at a time (I bought AoC, I've tried WoW, I've also just subbed for a month to Tabula Rasa, £9.99 from playNC, and it's fixed now!) I've yet to stop my Coh sub purely because I don't enjoy it anymore. Sure I've stopped it cos of house moves or lack of cash for a few weeks but whenever I've had the money this is the game I've always made sure I'm subbed to.

Other games have their good points but CoH's good points are many. The costume creator, the inspired decision to make powers and slotting have little or no effect on your costume (DA aside) making it possible for everyone to be an individual. The sidekick system has yet to be bettered on any MMO i've tried. AoC has a system like this but without CoH this system probably wouldn't be there.

CoH is also a great 'pick up' game. if you only have an hour before you're due to go out or it's 10pm and you'll need to go to bed before 12 on most other MMO's all you could do is log in and chat to your guild/SG/whatever. There'd be very little you actually could do for that short a period of time. With Coh you could easily have saved the world twice, resuced a few damsels in distress, prevented yet another alien invasion as well as made some extra cash on the auctions. Conversely you could also have kidnapped someone, defeated several interfering go-gooders while beating them down for having the tenacity to try and oppose you and travelled backwards in time. This is what makes CoH great!

Yes there are a few flaws and soemtimes the graphics are showing their age a little, but overall I'm still genuinely surprised at how 'badly' it performs against other MMO's. pretty much anyone who's played the game has many more good things than bad things to say about it. It's just a shame WoW dominates the market so much and NCSoft don't have the marketing budget to push the game as far as it deserves.

Yes, but you could consider it in place of stamina. One power instead of having to take two others in order to gain end. You could even slot the 3 slots you'd normally have in Stamina with 1x acc, 1x recharge and 1x end mod and you might get away with only QR if your build doesn;t get too greedy.

Best thing about DM is you can have an almost complete attack chain with Smite, Shadow punch, Air superiority and Shadow maul with other stuff from Dm thrown in for good measure. Also the self heal, while not great, should stack nicely with Willpower's Regen.

I'd take Dark Consumption earlier as it provides an excellent damage and to-hit boost but it's only really up every other mob.

Doesn't AR Snipe gain a bonus to Damage when paired with Devices Targetting Drone to make up for the lack of Build up and Aim? With properly slotted targeting drone you won't miss aim at all.

ok, this thread is well old (2005) and geko no longer works for NCsoft/Cryptic AFAIK.

Respecs that allow you to change powersets have beens uggested and denied by everyone lots of times. They WILL NOT happen. if you want to try a new powerset you'll have to re-roll a new character. Just choose another primary and it'll play slightly different.

Should work just fine on CoH, and run at the max res of the screen with no problems

AFAIK the folder is entirely self contained. Any Registry references are superfluous to the game itself or will be re-written. If you have a spare HDD or external one copy the hole folder off and back on.

An energy blaster not spamming impressive group KB powers is an energy blaster standing still doing nothing. I am reather proud though that I once got kicked from a team got knocking mobs off the Ice tanks impressively tiny ice patch. He asked me to stop using energy Torrent, so i did. Then he asked me to stop using any powers that have KB. Well, lets just say I didn't and leave it at that!

Earth controllers Rock! (haha!)

i'd tried Illusion, ice, Grav and Fire before I finally tried Earth. Every other troller was deleted in the mid teens. I just didn't seem to 'get' them, but Earth i totally 'got'. it's fun, and very much a 'whizz bang' powerset. The thing about alot of Fire/Illusion/Grav effects is the graphical effects aren't that impressive. With Earth you can always see what's happened! it also has some useful side effects, Slows, -Def, knockdown, tohitdebuff as well and the holds as well as a great disorient. Immob as well but TBH I hardly every use stone prison and never even took Stone Cages. (immob's stop earthquake from working. Critter in it's backside better than one standing still shooting you IMO).

Try and Earth troller, you won't regret it!

have you updated your drivers to the latest version from the ati website? use the driver cleaner also available there first and report back.

i'd like to guess there will be no proliferation as there will be a new set and new villain only set.
