The more categories you add, the less likely I am to rate a mission. I'm not taking a job as an arc reviewer, I'm just playing to have fun. I'm not going to bother agonizing over the qualities of various aspects of the arc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fair enough, but I don't really see more than 3 or so categories being available before they become redundant anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
Three categories wouldn't be bad, if they were sufficiently distinct. -
[ QUOTE ]
1: Categorized rating system - Please allow us to rate an arc on multiple factors (Perhaps on traits such as Story and Challenge).

2: Require the completion of an arc before it can be rated
[/ QUOTE ]
If I can't complete the arc due to being hit with several surprise elite bosses, I certainly want to be able to quit and give a poor rating. In fact, if I can't quit and give a rating, I probably wouldn't bother rating any arc that I can complete. I'd just throw out the rating system altogether.
[ QUOTE ]
3: Require comments for ratings under 3 stars
[/ QUOTE ]
Comment: safdsadfsadf
Requiring a comment is meaningless, since you can't force people to form complete words and sentences.
[ QUOTE ]
4: Remove the 0 Star Rating
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay. There are probably arcs out there I would give 0 stars to, but I think the feature isn't implemented very well.
[ QUOTE ]
5: Append Comments To Arcs
[/ QUOTE ]
This sounds messy. I suspect they moved away from e-mails for a good reason.
[ QUOTE ]
6: Unpublish all non-Developer's Choice arcs
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that would be unpopular. I don't care about that myself, but I think a number of players might be coming for you with a knife if you convinced the devs to wipe out their ratings.
[ QUOTE ]
7: Include a system to contest ratings

Creates excessive work for the GMs. Please consider the GM workload when suggesting something like this. -
None of my characters are ready to go rogue, because I don't know what the mechanics for going rogue are. It may very well be that I won't be able to have any of my existing characters go rogue.
But if turns out that it will be easy for me to have a character go rogue, I'll turn my brute Nerima Girl into a hero. -
At level 13 I'll buy whatever DOs I can afford, which usually isn't much. I buy what I feel are the highest priority DOs as I go along, typically accuracy and endurance reduction. I do the same with SOs after level 22. I don't expect to have a full set of SOs/IOs until sometime in the 30s, unless I happen to get lucky with drops.

The PvP crowd took the sympathy I had for PvP in this game and crushed it and mangled it and rolled it up in a tight ball. They dribbled it down the street, bouncing it off doors, and kicked it in a river. After it dropped 50 feet down a waterfall, they fished my sympathy out of the river and pounded it with jackhammers until it was crushed into tiny flecks, then they each grabbed a handful of flecks and ate them and laughed and laughed and laughed.

You would think so, but then you can't have a character named Thing either.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or Cyclops or Storm or Atom or a lot of other common words. They're trademarked names for popular comic book characters, so even if the character looks completely different, the names themselves would get hit by the generic stick. -

Um... I really don't think NCSoft would let you use that one for long if you managed to get it, GATTACA. -
Going for the "rebel without a clue" approach? That never works out well...
-
All of my MA arcs are personalized for my characters, for improved roleplaying. I might leave one published for a while if I think others might enjoy it, but not for too long. I don't care about the ratings.

The form you have submitted is no longer valid.
AAARRRGH!!! -

My proposal is that you, the devs, remove experience gain from all missions EXCEPT Hall of Fame missions, and Dev's Choice. This will no doubt alleviate all the farming down with one foul swoop. I'm sure sifting through Hall of Fame missions for farms is a heck of a lot easier than sifting through ALL missions, anyways.

Quite a few people have proposed removing XP from Mission Architect missions. I say once again: Don't nerf my MA XP!
The Mission Architect was meant to provide alternatives to the standard missions. It can't fulfill that role if it doesn't give any XP. It's not just about telling stories. It's new mission content. If you take away the XP, my only use for the MA would be to explore some of the missions maps, and that wouldn't keep my interest for very long.
[ QUOTE ]
...And let's face it, for all of you out there that feel the same way as I do about these farms. Doesn't it suck to have all your mission arcs you worked hard on buried under all those farm missions?
[/ QUOTE ]
No. I don't farm, but the existence of the farming missions doesn't bother me. In fact, I don't currently have any arc slots occupied. I create personalized arcs for my characters, and publish and unpublish them as desired. -

My solution, providing the melee power sets with an automagic -fly attack that does no damage solves the problem of hover sniping without unfair punishing the people who were doing it "the right way." Their solution is overboard and silly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ew. No thanks. I'd rather face the ranged damage than get stuck on the ground.
They just need to tone down the range damage a little. -
[ QUOTE ]
it is significantly lower than some of the missions I have run.
I was regularly seeing 9000 tickets for large kill all missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's impressive all right. I'm just not an optimizer. -
[ QUOTE ]
If it wasnt destroyed before its really destroyed now. Freaking ticket cap is unbelievably low now.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's still more than I've ever received in a single mission. Works for me. -

DC and HoF arcs are broken by the patch?
Sheesh...
[/ QUOTE ]
I just checked and there are no HoF arcs broken by the patch!
(Because... there are no HoF arcs.)
My published arc isn't broken either, so I would prefer that it not be put on hold.

DEV: Here's a machine to make vegetables and fruit.
ME: Oh good, because some of the other vegetables and fruit are hard for me to eat. Now I can make food I know I like, and mix it in with the other stuff.
ThugsRus: And I figured out a way to make candy.
DEV: You're not supposed to make candy with the machine. Just vegetables and fruit. Making candy is bad. Bad. Don't do that.
ME: Oh, look at the cool fruit I made. Yummy.
ThugsRus: And look at this great candy. Yum yum.
DEV: Do not make candy! Keep doing that and I will punish you!
ThugsRus: Neener neener. Candy is good.
ME: Say, I came up with a great veggie combination. This machine is great. -
I strongly shout out that I disagree.
Like many, I use the Mission Architect as an occasional alternative for standard missions. Don't nerf my MA XP. -
NO. I'm extremely against the idea of no XP for MA arcs. The whole point of the system is to have alternatives to the standard missions.
And as far as poles go, I'm fond of ski poles. -

Players who have a story arc banned for any reason, will have it continue to use up one of their publishing slots. Players will NOT be able to unpublish this slot without Customer Services help. This sets up a three strikes and youre out policy. If an individual gets three story arcs banned, they will no longer be able to publish since their slots will all be used up with banned arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
A cunning move. I like this idea.
I hope NCSoft hired some more GMs to do all this. Otherwise, the GMs are going to get swamped with work. -

It has just come to my attention that any discussion that touches on farming is FORBIDDEN in this forum.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it's not forbidden, it's just that the discussion (like any other discussion here) needs to be restricted to a few threads rather than a gazillion threads.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah? Which ones? Which ones are the "good threads" that won't have somebody come in at random and shut down?

halfthief, what server are you experiencing this problem on? I've noticed a little lag around some of the AE buildings on my servers, but nothing worth worrying about. I'm playing on Liberty, Triumph, Protector, Champion, Guardian and Pinnacle.
-
I need plot. I create stories for myself, and I make them interesting enough for me to play. Sometimes they may be a little light on text, since I'll have much of the story in my head and I don't want to spend too much time creating, but I'll put in enough to allow me to get immersed in the story.
I make a slight exception for my Kheldians, in that I tailor the enemies to be good on XP but not too annoying for them. They need things to be a bit easier than my other characters. My Kheldians will still get some story too, but not necessarily as much as other characters. -
If other players aren't playing the way you want to play for the most part, then I suggest you hang out in the forum for your server of choice and recruit allies there. Or, you can build up a nice big friends list as you meet the occasional player in the game who does want to play your way.
I still mostly play the standard content, but I solo, so I won't be teaming with you either. Also, I like the idea of things becoming less expensive than what the market offered, so I have no sympathy for a collapsed market. -

They cannot level past level 13
[/ QUOTE ]
Didn't that used to be 14? If they can't go to 14, they can't try out the main travel powers, outside of using temporary powers. That seems like a pretty severe restriction to me. Having the travel powers available would be better advertisement for the game to people who are used to a slow crawl in other games.
