There are no traditional healing roles in this game. There are healing powers you can find, but keep in mind that buffs and debuffs are also very useful, and often more useful in this game.
Defenders are generally the best at buffs/debuffs/healing. If you're dead set on healing people as much as possible, Empathy is a good set for that, although Embathy also has some great buffs that shouldn't be passed up. Defenders have a ranged damage secondary that is fairly weak compared to blasters, but still useful for beating on enemies.
Controllers have buffs/debuffs/heals as a secondary, with a primary devoted to control style powers. Corruptors are basically reversed defenders. Masterminds have buffs/debuffs/heals as a secondary with pets for a primary.
Frankly though, I think the best healer is a /Regeneration scrapper.
(You can't heal anybody else, but you're great at healing yourself.) -

I sooo want to fix that pic of the Doc...

... what's wrong with it?

It normally looks like this. -

Right now there is a Double Standard, you can Farm the Game Missions, but don't you dare Farm AE. If rules are created to stop it in one, rules should exist to stop it in both.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no double standard. There is no attempt to stop farming in general. There is no attempt to stop all farming in the AE. The devs are only trying to stop farming the exploits and reduce some of the motivation for exploitive farming in the AE.
I can create a personal farm mission using custom characters and level from 1 to 50 using it. The devs wouldn't care. Why? Because I would not be using an exploit. I would be leveling fairly slowly, actually, since I wouldn't get the end-of-mission or Patrol XP.
There's no good reason to implement your (sarcastic) suggestion. -

side note: You can chat cross-server already via global tells and global chat channels.
there are a few "single world" games out there now
Guild Wars is the only one that comes to mind at the moment,
[/ QUOTE ]
The other big player that is a single shard is EvE online.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know about EvE Online, but Guild Wars has a pretty severe restriction on the number of character slots. I'd much rather have separate servers with lots and lots of character slots, like CoH has. -
[ QUOTE ]
Of course it is, anything would be after a couple trips through.
[/ QUOTE ]
For you maybe. After six times through and a lot more spread through the levels, it's not a grind at all for me. -
It can take a while for dev posts to show up in the digest.
-
Already strongly considered by the devs, already shot down for now for being too tricky to implement. Maybe some time in the future, when they can figure out how to implement it in a way that would be relatively easy for players to use and hard for players to abuse.
Frequent cutscenes or very excessively long cutscenes could really make missions annoying. -
[ QUOTE ]
PS- I also recommend you all try playing a couple of characters from 1-50 without any dev tricks, just as a normal player, to see how grindy things are. Then go on a couple of farm missions with some friends and see how fun the leveling can be in comparison.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of my six level 50 characters, only my Ice/Ice blaster did much farming, and that was only because of some big content gaps in the old days. I stick to the standard method of doing the missions. I don't find that to be grindy at all.
Fast leveling through power farming is fun? Not for me. More like mind bogglingly tedious. I need plot to keep my interest going. I like to imagine that I'm a hero or villain while playing the game, not a farmer mowing down crops. -

Same here. -
If you're sick of all the drama, why are you perpetuating it with an absurd suggestion like that?
Don't nerf my MA XP.
(By the way, this is hardly a new idea. I've seen it thrown out dozens of times by people disgruntled enough to make absurd suggestions.) -
There has already been a side switching signature character: Malaise.

What bugged me most of all was not being told I would have to fight Shadowhunter. I'm going in to adjust devices. I accept the mission and find out I have to defeat everything. I look around and find Shadowhunter. Oops. Better figure out how to beat him before time runs out. It's not that unexpected, with all the other Praetorian fights from those contacts, but a little warning would be nice.
But there's no actual reason to beat him besides getting the mission bonus, so I might as well just let the timer run out. All three times. -
It did seem very redundant, now that you mention it. I think one of those three is actually in the lower 40s though. They're timed missions, which is fairly annoying. I let the missions fail with my MA/Regen scrapper because Shadowhunter is a self-healing brick. I beat him up with my Ill/Rad controller though.
I'm avoiding the Praetorians with most of my other characters. However, I'll be using their followers in AE missions. -
I've done pretty much everything I wanted in the game. I wish I could have done all the TFs and trials, but I don't wish I did them. Does that make sense? If I had tried to do them, I wouldn't have had fun doing them. But I still would have liked to see the special maps that a lot of the trials and TFs use. I've seen a few of them thanks to the Mission Architect, but not all of them, and I didn't get to see how the devs used them. Positron and Numina. That's it. Those are the only ones I've done, and they didn't have special maps.
And my character Ruby Flame objects to the crack about Fire/Fire tankers... -

actually this is a satire of anti-powerleveling. How some players selfishness is hurting the game, how you can't have fun powerleveling, how there is one proper way of playing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Darn. It was pretty good as a practical joke post. As a satire of anti-powerleveling, it doesn't work at all.
I mean, it works as a satire of anti-powerleveling about as much as it works as a satire of Champions Online. There's just nothing there. -

This certainly makes me glad I don't play squishies anymore.

Try an Ill/Rad controller, if you haven't already. Mine beat up Malta nicely (along with most everything else). -
The only hard time my Ice/Ice/Cold blaster had from the Malta was with some of the triggered ambushes in the upper 40s. Those could be a pain. But I was playing on Heroic, so I could handle the Gunslingers and Zeus Titans all right. I had a harder time with the Carnival Illusionists, who are very quick with that Blind attack. I wouldn't expect recent Malta changes to make a difference for her, since she can lock them down before they can put up a fight.
I don't really plan to fight the Malta with my Energy/Energy blaster. She may spend most of her time in the Mission Architect buildings instead. -

Free web page hosting sites should never have been allowed in the first place. They promote unhealthy frivolity and jocularity.

Yes, it is, which does suck, however there are plenty of free ways to display characters... photobucket + blog/journal program = character listing.

Eek. I did not know this. There goes my character listing. -

Yes, I've had running bosses do that a few times now. They're spouting their dialogue and running as soon as they spawn. I suspect that many if not all of them have been accidentally set to the run-at-full-health setting.
