Global chat is good for setting up teams , to a point, but I prefer coalition. At least you know they are on the same server adn the same side. I keep forgetting to say which side I am on when I ask on Australia channel
You can pretty much assume that anything advertised on the Australia channel will be on Justice if it doesn't say specifically that it's somewhere else.

Merit costs would also be reduced some what to handle the decrease in merit generation.

The devs simply messed up when they created the merit system in the first place by removing random incidental supply. This wrecked havoc on the market supply.
I forget, was the random roll at your level or the level of the TF ?

The token system I proposed would at least give you the chance to specify what level the IO you got was, while accomplishing essentially the same thing. Also the 19 merit TFs would become quite popular in your world.
  3. These suggestions would cause the price of some really desirable pool Cs to skyrocket (the ones that are currently merit bought).

My suggestion would be to do the following:

TFs and arcs awarding 14 merits or less: no change
TFs and arcs awarding 15-25 merits: Award one token, reduce merit award by 9
TFs and arcs awarding 26-50 merits: Award 2 tokens, reduce merit award by 17
TFs awarding 51+ merits: Award 3 tokens, reduce merit award by 24

2 tokens for a pool C completely random roll off a weighted table of all possible pool Cs, you choose level of IO up to your level +3 at redemption time. You may not hold more than 10 tokens.

    This would have 2 consequences.

The useful low to mid level drops would turn up with reasonable frequency due to the random rolls.

If you want to merit buy stuff, it pays to do the longer TFs, as you get forced into less expenditure proportionally on the random rolls.

This would work very well for heroes, possibly slightly less so for vills. Vills could do with a longish 30-35 TF to really make this work or access to the shard.

On the hydra-os, I don't understand why the dev's won't update them. Should be easy to simply set the drop to the level of the character exactly the same way as with the SO that drops when you beat an AV. It's existing code that we know works.
Hydra Os would be more fun if they were like IOs, ie they gave a fixed bonus regardless of your level. That would actually make them useful.

  6. I went DA/stone and softcapped S/L def without bothering with the other types. That was fun to play (OG/fault ftw) but probably not as powerful as a WP or granite (or even ice) on the same expenditure. I also got taken apart by cimerorans if I didn't have any buffing (any extra defence buffing and I was golden).

The comment of preferring to layer defence rather than just cap defence is misleading. Even the arch defence sets /SR, shield and ice have resists that cut in when you take damage, and can be significant when combined with tough, or an aura that reduces incoming damage or both.

Think hard before giving a knee-jerk, defensive answer. Because we all know that if the rewards were any higher, you'd all be finding ways to run the tfs as fast as possible to farm them just for the rewards. Instead, you're letting "low rewards" stop you from constantly replaying probably one of the best missions the game has offered up so far (and mind you that doing both missions does give you enough for a roll).

The missions are simply fun, but you're letting your fun get dampened by a percieved lack of rewards. That don't sound right to me.
    Too low in general.

Compare a team "playing normally" through sister/citadel/manticore/numina, killing most of the mobs. The time taken is not dissimilar to the time taken for the two halves of posi under the same conditions. The merit rewards are uniformly higher, and in some cases much higher. Synapse is a bit longer but not twice as long and has more than twice the merits, there are only 4 properly stealthable missions, and 3 of them are on very small maps so you don't save a huge amount of time by stealthing them. My best time for Synapse is 1:08 which would probably be 1:25 or so killing most of the mobs, but 1:08 was with a really good team and much faster than I usually do it.

The big difference however is if you assume the groups doing them are the right level for them, ie lvl 15 for posi, level 35 for manticore rather than exemped. Now the other TFs may actually be significantly faster as well as better rewarded if you're not stealthing.

The other thing about the rewards on the TFs from sister upwards is that I usually use the speed running techniques, but set the mobs to +2 or +3 so we get great XP off them for the time taken, you can't do that with lvl 15 vahz/CoT sensibly.

Fixed in the test patch (or at least claimed to be by the patchnotes).

I'd have preferred them not to fix the scaling, but allow the difficulty slider to operate in that mission so you could have all level 36s if you wanted to, but it wasn't compulsory. We tried to run a +2 katie, but the mobs all spawned in as 34s anyway in that mish although it worked fine in the others.

Players may once again choose to not accept or decline the Mystic Fortune buff power.
Well you've just removed the best thing in I17.

Do NOT do this without adding a box to the options window to give people the choice whether to auto accept/auto decline/click to accept.

Can we get some clarification whether there is some technical reason for this, as I've only seen a very small number of people ask for it (less than have said they hate this change in this thread already).
  10. I think the purpose of sinister should be as a transient VG for people who don't have their own VGs. The intention being to make TPers available to denizens of the australia channel, and provide some admittedly insecure storage.

Teamage would still be via the australia channel.

It should be made clear on joining that this is really what sinister is for, people can move out if/when they find a real VG, but it would be very useful to people new to the server.

Several times I've been on when people wanted invites, but as a mere minion I can't invite.
  11. All the horror of how hard the old posi was dates back to the days when there was no exemped XP, no stamina and no SSK. Yes it was extremely hard with 8 level 12 toons, and that was how people sometimes did it and took many hours. There was no incentive to do posi with over level toons.

In the new world after these changes, as I said in my previous post, 8 of us wiped basically everything in a posi in 2 hours, and I went 12-19 in the process. All it required was one 16+ for SSK to kick in. Posi has not been frightening for a long time.

Also to respond to another thing, the email system can't be used till level 10, so it's not abusable with a level 1, but yes it wouldn't take long if merits could be emailed.

The price of adjoining levels has no bearing. As we speak I'm buying up a different 'good' recipe. I'm getting it for around 200k at one level, 3 million at another and 5 million at another. I'm selling all three of them for around the same price and making a grotesque profit on the lot.

This is why it's useful to know the value of items independent of what other players are selling it for. The 0 listing thing is a shortcut to spotting value.
What prompted this was when I was making money off regen tissue +regens. I forget the precise levels involved at the time, but the effect was level 10s turned up in decent volumes and sold at x. Level 12s turned up in decent volumes, sold at roughly x and there was plenty of supply of both. The last level 11 turned up way longer ago than the last 5 10s or 12s and sold for 60% more. Prices had dropped since the last one turned up, it would not sell for a looooong time if you put it up at more. People would just be looking for a low level one, 10, 11, 12, 13 are all the same to them, and they'd grab the low hanging fruit.
  13. I have a 38 claws/WP brute Killer Bunnygirl that might wish to do the ITF.

I have several lowbies that can join for the later stuff, maybe Grinning Banshee, 12ish sonic/dark corr.

While there's a certain amount of sense in the goat's rule, you can't be sure on low volume items like this without seeing the lvl 10 and 12 versions and their histories. It's also entirely possible that all 7 bids are at 5,111,111 trying to get a bargain (although that would be much more likely on the recipe than the crafted enh).

Not sure whether we will, it was originally 20/20 and got reduced in the beta.

I've done a number of the Posi sets now and the average time I've seen is about 90 minute or so for each half. I've also done the OLD Posi and with NON speed runs was able to complete that in less than 4 hours. The huge drop in merits foir essentially 1 hour less time invested does seem extreme especially since I can do a Synapse in under 2 hours and make 58. Granted now both halves essentially keep you in one zone, part 2 does run one mission in Steel before moving to Faultline, but the two halves combines run you through 14 missions (including talk tos) and the old Posi was 17 (including talk to mission and 2 patrols). A drop of close to 70 merit for doing 3 less mission in around one hour less time is pretty extreme
You really don't have much of a clue how to run stuff fast do you. I'm by no means the fastest around and have completely cleared an 8 man old posi in 2 hours. I've finished it in teams of 2,3,4,5 pre I17 sub 1:20, with a best of 1:09. If I had a purpled out 50, I could have got it down well below that.

The version thru ouro is slower, because it seems to insist on sending you to the far end of Boomtown every other mission which the original TF didn't.

Where do you get 90 merits for old posi, it was 66.

I haven't tried properly speed running the new one, but in the beta where we were checking stuff so not speeding, we took 45 mins for the first half and an hour or just under for the second. I'd guess about 35/45 mins would be fairly normal for people speed running the 2.

So the new posi is IMO the same length or longer than the old one for less than half the merits. I don't touch it with a barge pole unless I want the badges. What with removing the XP from the hunts in Numina (about 1/3 of the TF), I'm seriously unimpressed with the state of rewards atm.

That said, Claws/Invuln is a stunningly good combo. Claws is AOE heavy, and Invuln loves to be in a crowd.
You have to be careful though, one of the funniest suicides I ever saw was a claws/invul knocking a load of +severals out of invincibility range with shockwave, at which point they all got up and shot him dead. This was a scrapper rather than a brute with less hits, but the issue remains.

Cost for a crafted level 35 Generic Accuracy if you memorized it: 33k +salvage (Alch Silver, Scientific Theory), if you didn't memorize it: 61k +salvage.

And cheap sets are even more affordable than commons.
Absolute rubbish. Back when I was poor but had effectively unlimited respecs (more than I ever use as a 69 month vet) I would get SOs at 22 which are better than 25 IOs, and then respec at 27, get full sale price for the IOs slotted, and with the profit on the 10 in the tray purchased for peanuts from WWs, actually make a profit on upgrading from 25 to 30 SOs.

It can be sensible to use SOs of level 25/30 and possibly even 35 if you intend to move on to set IOs in the mid to late 30s and have the respecs spare.
  21. I ran this build on a set team that went 1-50 in a double XP weekend. I was the tank but then I knew what buffing I was getting.

It's fun to play, but can be a touch squishy.

I think I'd be inclined to go with melee defence rather than S/L because parry works against all melee attacks but only lethal not smashing.

    One idea:

I like to slot gambler's cut in slightly eccentric fashion - purple damage and proc, HO acc/dam, achilles heel proc, touch of lady grey proc, mako's proc as I use this attack effectively every other attack, I bump its DPS as high as I can, and the mako's proc adds more DPS than slotting damage up to the softcap.
  22. Minotaur

    Tricks to EA?

My main experience with EA is on a stalker, but I have a stone/EA in the 30s. I found it was very easy to softcap in that many of the sets that you want stop at low level, so you can slot them early and the typed defence set bonuses come in for 4 IOs so you don't have to 6 slot everything. I think my stalker was soft capped to many things by 36.

Is it as tough as /SR ? no, is it as good as shield ? probably not, is it perfectly serviceable and fun ? Yes, although some opponents (particularly psi damage) will frustrate you intensely.

    Rewards

Removed the rewards for all ‘errand’ tasks within missions. These small rewards were exploitable with the new mission abandonment feature. Mission completion rewards are not affected, including patrol missions.
This change is TRULY HORRIBLE on the Numina TF. All the hunts giving no XP.

Half an hour of wasted time with no XP/inf/prestige.

Real disincentive to do this TF now, another one off the list, I used to do it a lot. Not good, in the last few weeks Posi (scandalously under rewarded for merits), Numina and LGTF have gone, what next ?

    TF rewards

We would normally wait for people to enter, but the person in question was afk for half an hour taking her kids to school and got back immediately after we finished having gone 3 missions from the end.
