My favourite bug was during CoV beta. I played a stalker, aggro seemed to be calculated on the basis of how much damage was done, meaning AS generated quite a lot. So I popped some reds, BU, AS and the next 3 rooms turned up.

@Death conqueror from Victory, I have no screenshots, but a number of the Victory regulars may have.

Net is uniquedragon
and the game has gone to the jerks and away from the americans.

At the announcement - no
Away from my PC - no
At my PC reading some of the stuff on the forums from people saying what the game meant to them - yes -
It appears to me that CoH's sales were pretty much flat Q1-Q2. I can't imagine the expenses changed much in that time, so the performance was pretty much static. There is nothing in these figures to suggest that anything has significantly changed. We can't actually see costs for a game on its own or Paragon studios on its own.
It sounds like they just want to retrench and concentrate on games they know will sell in their core market of Korea and this isn't one of those, and I'm guessing neither was the other Paragon Studios project.
If they have tried to sell the game/studio on and nobody was buying, that's one thing, but simply explaining that, and the reason they're getting out of this market would remove a lot of the animosity.
This game has been notable for its great openness and communication, it's a shame the parent company can't live up to Paragon Studios quality in this area. -
I presume that includes the trick of splitting the journey in Peterborough which can make it a fair bit cheaper. I'm going Norwich-Birmingham Fri-Sun, and doing this cuts the cost from 72 to fiftysomething by buying 2 returns Norwich-PBoro and PBoro-Brum. I'd have thought same day would be cheaper (edit, looks like £51 ish or possibly less if you book singles on specific trains for the journey to/from Norwich plus your local train to get here).

Yeah, but it sometimes comes out, they tell somebody and the third party makes an "I have on good authority it was MLP/DBZ deathmatch" or whatever post so nobody can trace it.

My question is what happened to the "sooper sekrit" other project at Paragon that some people moved on to and what was it ?
Is anybody allowed to talk now (or are they going to do so anyway) ? -
Quote:Please use your experience here to try to make the forums on whatever game you move to next like the CoH ones rather than some of the cesspits we see.Hi everyone,
It breaks my heart to have to say this, but I want you all to know that it has been my honor to be a part of this community, even in a little way, and for a short time. The passion of you, the players, as well as your fervent support of this game has been nothing short of amazing, and humbling.
This was my first (and hopefully not my last!) job in the gaming industry, and you all have set the bar so high. I can only hope that I'll be seeing you all again in the near future.
You guys showed me how amazing a community can be when it puts its mind to it, and I will forever be grateful to all of you. Thank you SO MUCH.
All my love and thanks,
Kevin "Freitag" Callanan
And best wishes in whatever you do next. -

Quote:I was presuming play was going to be on Defiant/Union, hence I was going to need to transfer stuff over for the weekend. I have a wide array of 50s I can bring and a number of lower toons.Last year we mostly had folks playing on Union, with a few die hards playing on Defiant. I don't think we had anyone on any of the US servers.
As for the costume competitions, we held them on one of the empty-ish US servers last year (I forget which one), but at 3pm UK time it was practically dead. For this year, we might use either Vigilance or Zukunft depending on how many slots folks have spare - you only need 1 as we first do a "Hit the random button till you get something so ugly it makes you feel sick" costume, then you can delete that one and compete in the "Hit the random button till you get something so fantastic, it's amazing" costume.
If I have a character where I just want to try the powerset combo and don't already have a concept, I tend to hit the random button several times till I get something that looks suitable but I do then tidy it up a bit. The ones I actually work on tend to be the ones so ugly you need shades.
I appear to have an IOd out but not incarnated granite brute on union, and an alphad and IOd ice tank so I can do crunchies, my only 50 squishy is an ill/TA who's a bit of a mess.
I also seem to have have a tank and a fire/FF on defiant, so I'll probably wait to do transfers to see if we need anything specific. -
Quote:Does not compute, I have no free slots on any NA server without buying them (and one where I can't even buy more), over 200 toons on my accountA cossie comp on a quiet NA server (this you won't need to transfer any as it's for lvl1
Could manage Vigilance/Zukunft though. -
Anybody have a clue what we're likely to do on the playing side ? Most of my interesting toons are sitting on Victory, so I'm planning to use a load of my stockpiled server transfers, but I'd quite like to do them in advance just in case the copy tool is down.

Quote:You suck, we did an 8 minute Katie and other people were fasterOther shenanigans:
Failing mission 1 of Katie TF, setting speed records or trying to (We got a 13 minute one once with 4 Fire/Rads, my Mind/Bubble (built for stealthing) and 3 /Colds.
Aforementioned Sewer Trial exploit, was handy when recipes came out.
Not an exploit, but MUCH earlier farming hydra in the sewer trial for XP. -
Remember when rikti portals didn't shut off until they'd summoned 100 or so ? I recall my energy blaster seeing a finished portal and thinking "Nova time" I killed most of them netting enough XP to more than cover the debt when the ones I missed killed me, and counting through the 90+ kill/reward message pairs.
That and not so far back when you needed 10K rikti monkeys for the badge, herding them 250 at a time with my stone tank, then trying to survive the toxic damage from the dead ones.
Also when rooted meant rooted, unyielding stance meant you couldn't move, and stone and dark armors didn't stack. -
Should really have been a villain but I don't play redside any more.
Fish pieces and scaled body, water/devices - the Tunabomber -
Already PMd Kallandra, I'll be there, probably from Friday afternoon.

Quote:Well at least if the chainsaw is silent, stalkers might be able to use itI'll toss my two cents in for liking a chainsaw option with sound... but I understand if it's not a realistic possibility. I honestly was prepared for the blades to not animate, so that's a fantastic bonus already.

Quote:In the UK too, I played gridiron representing my university in a league here. I have to say we only got all the protective gear in the second year I played, and I think it's a better game played without the padding. Rugby players in the UK are known as egg chasers by some people. There are "American-style" football teams and leagues all over the world. If I recall, there are over 300 such teams in Germany alone (at least there used to be).
Yes, I am a football nerd and sometimes recreate these teams in Madden NFL (for the PC; another anachronism, but it does allow for custom graphics).

You lose the ability to pay your base rent unless they fixed that (find a trusted VIP), and you lose access to all incarnate content plus some of the missions in the new zones (first ward for example).
You will also lose access to some characters but not many, if you've unlocked 14 extra slots, you'll probably have access to 16 characters. -
My first experience of computing was at school, mid 70s, machine the size of half a room with less computing power than my washing machine has now, programmed in BASIC by taking cards with a dozen or so rows of all the possible characters and putting a pencil mark through the one you wanted, one character per row, read by a graphite sensitive reader. Immense fun when you dropped a stack of them.
My first gaming machine was an ATARI ST, also still have a Sinclair QL. -
My first 70 50s were all played the old fashioned way. Now I dual box myself to 22 (in AE, I like the lvl 10 -KB IOs and lvl twentyish 3% defs) and start there with SOs, using Ouro for the fortune teller.
I both solo and team at different times, and sometimes log in the middle of an arc so don't want my toon tied up in TF mode if a teaming opportunity arises. -
