  1. Okay, here is something I've been working on. Well, not me. A friend helped start me out on a path with this build. Thanks dude!

While I don't need to be the best build, I want a decent build. I love the idea of fire melee but I'm not a fan of the animation. So! I made a dual blades person with the new fire swords.

My idea is a fire guy. I chose WP cause it's simple and I'm not a fan of radiating flames. My guy simple can create fire weapons and throw flames, thus the blaze mastery.

For my incarnate abilities, I'm taking Pyronic Judgement (Clearly) and Reactive Radial because I want my fire swords to actually set people on fire. But anyways, now that you got all this information... how does this build look?

  2. We are trying to figure out when our main RP days are. However, I will say this about FH. I want people to RP within the group whenever they want. So, I'm hoping that RP days aren't something that are set in stone. However, 'event' days are generally Monday and (depending how our poll goes) Tuesdays/Fridays.

What I've told people is that on Mondays and (depending how are poll goes) Tuesdays/Fridays, I'll be running storylines and events. If anyone else wants to run stuff, they are more than welcome too on any day.
  3. We've had a nice collection of new people to join up with us! However, we're still looking for more people who might be interested in what we are selling. Not only that, but we are looking for people who are interested in possibly contributing to stories.

We want to thank Black Friday, as well! This wonderful organization has been simply a delight to be around. We've sat outside the 'doors' begging for money, snuck in twice wearing horrible 1980s prom outfits, and have been having a great time meeting people of the Isles.

    Current Story: 'Imagination Juice'

    ----

It all started with the fires.

Dozens of them. Burning in Mercy, St. Martial, and Port Oakes. Too many for the volunteer firefighters to handle. Arachnos themselves had a hard time predicting when the next fire would start.

It was the Hellions. And it was not simply a rash of petty arsons. No, something else was amiss. Our Wayward Orphans weren't the type to sit on the sides, watching as helpless people died trapped in an inferno so they tried to rush in and help when they could! Each time, however, they were met with flames, shadows, and laughter.

The Hellions were trying to pull something into the world. And each fire seemed to bring it closer to a reality.

    Or... was it something else?

It was later discovered that a drug was found within the Hellion's corpses. It was a drug that hadn't been documented. Seeing that they had no other leads, the orphans are starting to look around the Isle for the drug dealer who was selling: Zeke Dackor.

If anyone is interested in this story, please contact me (@TheMindfulFool). Even if you aren't in our group, that doesn't mean you can't contribute in your own way.
  4. Name: Father Gerard Henri's Home for Wayward Youth

Currently Recruiting: Currently seeking like-minded RPers to fill our ranks.

RP Level: RP-Intensive? That sounds nice and professional. So... yes... RP-Intensive. Like Intensive Care -- Wait.. That doesn't make-

PvP Level: None (Though you are welcome to kick as much heiney as you like privately)

Theme/Concept: We're a new redside RP-heavy group on the Virtue Server. But we're not villains -- instead, Father Gerard Henri’s Home for Wayward Youth focuses on orphaned or abandoned teens. While the home is filled with mostly normal orphans, a small group of them (PCs) are being trained secretly by the faculty in order to use their powers and skills to improve life in the lawless Etoiles.

Activity: We're seeking intelligent and respectful roleplayers who enjoy creating stories in nuanced situations (like living in the Isles but still trying to do the right thing). We want to avoid epic characters with staggering powers and colossal backstories -- we're gritty, we're down-to-earth, we're about the little details that make stories sing. Most importantly, we want people who are as invested in the group and the stories of others as they are in their own.

Activities include exploring the Isles and its hidden areas, running AE missions, and just enjoying each other's company. We want a community of RPers that share a common environment.

Requirements for Membership: Our environment and setting has been called unique by some. Others don't use such nice words. We expect our members to accept our environment/reality and help build it with us. We are a community that wishes to keep our stories from crossing over to a certain level of 'epicness'. Interested? Please look on our board for how to join.

    Leadership: Theo Walker

    In-Game Contact(s): @TheMindfulFool, @A-Muses

Out-of-Game Contact(s): MindfulFool is the OOC Contact area. However, you should try contacting from our boards at http://www.fatherhenrihome.com/forum/index.php.

    URL: www.fatherhenrihome.com

Coalition(s): Always interested in meeting like minded individuals who care to share a common story!

Other Details: We mostly are just looking for people who want to RP within the setting we've established. We want storytellers, players, and (most importantly) nice and respectful individuals.
  5. We'll work with anyone in order to get their concept to fit in our group. It might take some tweaking but we try not to come off as people who expect you to drop everything you love about a character and change it because we said. We'll work with you!

If you read our guidelines, we do have a few that keep certain types of characters out of the group. However, those are guidelines. Not laws/rules/amendments. If we can figure out a way to get you in with a realistic way, we'll do it!

Just contact me at any point, and we can discuss what you had in mind as a character.

BTW - And there are no 'bad roleplayers'. There are those who are new. There are those who can alter their playstyle. And there are those who don't want too. All of these things are fine. We like people who can adapt to the VG's playstyle, but that also means the VG adapts to new people, as well.

If you are new to roleplaying in general, we'll be around to help you with all those things that roleplayers go through when they start out. We have some really great writers in the group who are very good at helping you come up with a realistic character just via roleplaying.
  6. ... Yeah, I'm going to come out and say this one won't last eight years. We have twelve members thus far and have had a good time for the last few months. We've just started opening up our doors.

But yeah, we won't be around for eight years
  7. Hey Sadron,

Wow, thanks for the wonderful comment. I really am glad to have the support of you. Codex is a wonderful organization, and I appreciate that your endorsement comes with that SG name.

    You rock!

  9. Hey hey, folks.

I finally gathered enough stuff to buy some things from the vendors. I go to vendors in Ouro's and click on them. Find the items I want and click 'buy'. Then... nothing. In the chat, it says "Your account inventory is currently being loaded. Try again in a few moments."

And trust me! I've tried again in a few moments. And a few hours. And all that jazz. Still, it won't let my buy anything. I have the right amount of merits, so that's not the problem.

So, is this a bug? Is there a fix?

Oh, I'm on Virtue if it matters.
  10. Same problem.

Went to Atlas Park on Virtue. Map served. Can't get on with the same message. Tried bringing another character into Atlas Park and the same thing.

    Sad face.
  11. Long time reader, first time poster... And I don't know if this is the forum to post this too.

First of all, the game is great. I enjoy it. If my suggestions or comments aren't even read or just dismissed, it would be alright! Just something I've been tossing around.

I know awhile back that the developers were asked about customization of the MM pets. They talked about how they considered letting people being able to change the colors of the pets but felt it was a bit on the lame side. I agreed. When asked about being able to change the MM pets clothing, they said it might be possible but would take work.

Well, it's been awhile and I figure that adding customization for pets might be something that they can't put the time into, but have they ever considering letting the player choose a new 'collection' of pet like we choose a new look for a weapon?

    Example:

Say you hunt 500 skulls and get the badge. You're then able to go to a tailor and under PET GROUP, you choose Skulls. So, instead of your original group of thugs, you'd have a Skull motif set of goons.

Now, of course you'd need to figure out how to do it. It's easy when you say the MM is thug. You can find many groups of Thug-like people. But with some thinking, you can give each MM 'class' their own customization the same way people unlock weapons.

    Thugs: Hellions, Family, Trolls
    Mercenaries: Council, Arachnos, Longbow
    Robotics: Praetorian Clockwork, Malta
    Ninja: Tsoo
    Undead: Pantheon, Council Vampire/Lupine
    Demon: Circle of the Thorn?

So, do you guys think it would work? Would it take too much coding? Would you prefer to be able to change the outfits of your pets instead of just unlocking other groups?

My thoughts exactly. It's not that I don't think non-RP guilds are worth joining, I just think that I'd rather do something this painful (And fun) with a complete RP guild. Restrictions always make for the best RP.

Color me curious, though. This is actually a very neat sounding idea. Stick to your guns, mate!

I would say this though... Mapserve and lag spikes happen. Perhaps adjust it so that if such things occur, you'd allow for a time warp to occur. Everyone Rez and restart the fight. And perhaps make a system that allows someone the right to earn a 'hospital visit'. Like... I don't know. Make a merit system that says "You do this enough times, you get one use of a hospital visit if the SG leader thinks it's reasonable."

But really, that's just an opinion- my two cents. This is your system and it does sound rather interesting.
