How anyone could boast, gloat & feel any more worth over someone else over pressing a button, in the rough vincinity of another character, with a power that's the rock/paper/scissor to someone elses rock/paper/scissor defies belief & is the behaviour of fools.
Whats more bewildering is people who advocate relaxed & respectful play & doing entirely the opposite on the test server.
-
I doubt it. Pretty sure that when questioned in the past, badges awarded aren't subject to removal. I can't point you to the exact source however. I presume there's some sort of massive datamining reason. However why on earth should a villain have Master Of Olympus removed if they have indeed defeated Kronos?
If the bugs been patched, shame. Doing that badge was one of the most fun, exciting & rewarding things I've done in game.
And people get narked off about it? Wow. Whatever the cause, something very very rare & very out of the ordinary happens & people begrudge it.
When we did it, everyone there was beside themselves with surprise & enjoyed the spectacle of it. Those that didn't want debt from the beast stayed & watched for the few minutes it took to beat him from a safe distance. Others joined the team & helped out. It made for one of the more memorable events in Sirens.

Well that's it, I'm going home to crack a can open and start scrapping; a great start to the weekend.
As for Steel Canyon and Kings Row I've been to them both but I've had limited experience of missions there. I didn't think The Hollows was avoidable. Is it?
Doc
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep it can be.
You will have to speak to Wincott at some point, but all you have to do is go talk to him. Don't take any missions of him & you can resume with your other contacts.
Edit: what he already said.

If you want a scrapper that's both very visible and awesome, go with spines/regenSpines is the primary with most AoE's (Area of effect attacks), and regen has great survivability. At high levels, a spines/regen can "arrest" whole spawns fairly quickly.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd reccomend Spines/something for hands down fun over the very impressive performance it also gives.
The set builds very nicely over time & gets progressively better & better. As well as up close & personal melee attacks you get some great area effect attacks & some range too. Consequently attaining each power in turn offers a lot reward & enjoyment all the way thrugh your "career".
For a secondary, I would also reccomend Regen. The different sets have different qualities, & I respect them all, but personally I preferred the control you have over managing your own health & the pace you want to play at, which coupled with Spines is usually furious.
Once you hit 16 with Regen & you take Integration the game changes a lot for your character & you'll see a huge improvement in your survivalbilty & performance.
I love my Spines/Regen scrapper so much, I'm still playing him a hell of a lot after 1400 hours. Owch... I really am damned.
One thing, as you progress, be sure to up your difficulty as soon as you start finding missions given to you a too easy. This will stave off the bordedom factor, & will keep you at a good levelling pace.
Why scrap? Hmmmm, the best thing I could say is if it can still be found, is take a look at the Zen Of Scrapping. A tome of sagely scrapper passed down from Scrapper to Scrapper, & was passed onto myself at one time.
It is still here: CLICKY!
Quite old now, but still a great piece of wisdom.
Good luck with you scrapping!

I wanted to turn around and say "you're a corrupter you're supposed to be the healer" which is too much of a gross over simplification.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed it would be.
The group of corruptors I tended to team with were very, very good at both. Excellent buffs/debuffs & very very lethal with damage. They sold me on Corruptors and I'll be rolling up a few for my forthcoming villainy.
I wouldn't tell someone to build an AT one way or another. A good player teaming well & getting the job done well is all I need to ask. There's plenty of different ways a good player can build their character & function.
Personally I will build my own Corruptors to utilitise the primaries AND the secondaries as best as possible. Plenty of good stuff on offer.
-
It's a well paced set, that changes & improves at the all the right points.

One of my favorite... stalkers...moments came a few days ago....
[/ QUOTE ]
Mine too. I dropped into Sirens, while waiting for the Test Server to come back up. Stood at base, talking politely with some people there, I noticed a dancing brute outside the gate. "Hmmmmmm" I thought as I watched a Blaster apporach the Brute. Sure enough, out of hide pops a Stalker...not for long, following my BU+Impale & a Ripper to finish him off. SIlly fools tried the same baiting tactics over & over, to which I replied with a lot more BUs+Impales & Rippers. Er hey, bait & a "trap" only works when people don't know what you're up to
.
What also didn't surprise me was the ensuing broadcast moronics that followed claiming all the heroes were "cowardly" for ambushing the Stalker back. LOL.
I don't mind playing against Stalkers at all. I love playing against Mr Not So Nice & Stalk-obot etc. They play well & frustrate the hell out of me, but they play with skill & effort & the freindly banter never turns sour. What I don't like is playing with the percentage of lazy Stalker Morons who stick to one plan & start throwing tantrums on broadcast when it stops working, or start wailing when a something other than an easy squishy kill turns up to give them a hard time.
Not to derail too much, so can Quills be employed to interrupt AS at all. I'm guessing a good stalker would be able to get in between "ticks" etc, and would I need to put some heavy accuracy slotting into it to give it more of a chance?
I currently have Quills outside the level range for Sirens, & just planning out what changes I might make next respec. Cheers.

Been thinking of respecing ghostblade into a more team friendly stalker, basically taking recal friend to pull out team mates and grant invis for the stealth cap. Problem is i can see myself sitting in a hideyhole recalling and GI'ing every 2 minutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hence working a pair up for this to juggle the buffing & the fun between both.
I'd imagine moving around together, & double teaming for a kill. Maybe seperating to fish out a target from a team group. The other providing an evac before the vitims teamates can react.
It's all hypotheticcal from my point of view, I'm yet to actually play a stalker yet. Just some ideas I was mulling over to avoid boring solo PvP, but increasing the nastiness

Anyway, how good is Assault vs Placate out in the field? What sort of ratio are people getting resisting Placate.
[/ QUOTE ]
It doesn't protect you from Placate, it just lowers the duration. It's the same as what AM does for some mez effects.

I don't know though, what is your secondary?

energy aura, immunity from TP

Ah yes.Not paying attention when meant to be "working" FTW.
I've been on the receiving end from your Stalker a few times. And the obvious point being, it's in your sig'.

guess my secondary, I take one power from the set (aside from hide)
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmmm, interesting. I've been toying around with a stalker build set up for working as part of a very mutually supporting duo. It meant cutting very far back on the secondaries though, in favour of a bunch of other stuff. Bascially the pair would set up targets, buff each other with invis, hit target & get out etc...sshhhh... secret plans & stuff. Another set up would be alternating targets, one making the hit, & then getting an evac, zapped from the other. There's a couple of other things I chucked in for mutual support, but it was all so low on the secondary set I just stared at it all for hours & thought "This is madness!". However, worked & deployed properly with an identical build in a pair I'm pretty sure you'd be racking up far more kills than the actual take downs you'd suffer back again, & the kills would be executed so quickly, with an equally quick evac, the lack of secondaries shouldn't be an issue.
I don't know though, what is your secondary? -
Anyway, how good is Assault vs Placate out in the field? What sort of ratio are people getting resisting Placate.
In honesty, Placate's the one thing that stops me smearing dead Stalker all over the tarmac.
Stalker: HA! AS!
Mighty: That tickles!
Stalker: uh-oh... EAT PLACATE!
Mighty: *Shakes fist* -

BOOOOOOOOM! His mate stabs you to death... OH NOES, it's one of those cheating Stalkers that teams.

So just how good is the +perception on Focussed Accuracy?
Would my cactus be able to see & target a hidden & Stealthed Stalker? In range of Impale/Laser Beam Eyes..? Close enough to interupt an Assasin Strike?
Thanks for any info'. -
[ QUOTE ]
I just wish that spines/regn wasnt so FOTM as it makes me embarrassed to play her
[/ QUOTE ]
[censored] to "FOTM". You built it, you levelled it, have fun playing it!
1400 hours of cactus BABY & born PRE PvP!
(Mind sharing your build notes with me Stalk'? I wouldn't mind talking over some points prior to netting the next "freespec" for Mighty, which I may as well consider to be his final respec ever).
The debuffers & the corruptors are the worst problem for my regen. I don't mind it though, it's nice to have something a bit Kryptonite & interesting to work against. -
I understand there is some sort of bug with the Poison trap, but as far as I knew this was with the debuff it applies?
The trap applying a hold & negating your Mez' protection not fair? I don't agree. For all the trouble of setting it up & achieving a succesful activation off it, I think it's pretty fair as it is imo, & I've seen it in action from both ends.
In all honesty nearly everything just breezes straight through the poison trap without the damn thing going off, & it has a very small radius of activation anyway.
If you do set if off, then yes, you should be rendered helpless. The 99% of heroes that I've seen either tp'd into it, or stumbled onto it simply supersped or jumped away before it afforded any worthwhile affect at all, and caltrops didn't really afford much help.
It might be different for Corruptors who can take more advantage of the Posion Trap & deal out more in the way of damage, but the traps set is generally ridiculously weak for Masterminds in PvP & has no worthwhile defensive capabilities to mention at all. I spent a considerable amount of time in Warburg with a couple of helpful scrappers & a helpful Tank testing the entiriety of the Mastermind traps set against them.
A lot of the time, the Posion Trap wasn't accurate in activating at all, & when it did go off, only rendered them particulary helpless on a very few occasions, for a very few seconds at anytime.
Traps Masterminds might come to shine in base raids, defending, but in the open zones they are extremely weak. I am surprised it would take you any longer than 3 seconds to drop a Mastermind.
Mine gets dropped in about 2 hits, & my Scrapper can push them over with his little finger.
Hopefully Bodyguard will help them out a bit. -

...and also toggle dropping has been reduced across the board so there aren't any 100% toggle drop attacks anymore. Overall I think this is good, this will help Brutes Vs. Blasters.
It does also mean getting into melee is now even more dangerous for a Dominator, but at the same time Domination is more readily available.
[/ QUOTE ]
ARRRRRRGH! LMAO, no can't have it all. It's just funny. I'd just learnt to use the toggle droppers in Thorns to effect. Best start re-learning again!!!
And yes, overall, a reduction in toggle dropping is good. -
PvP only is reward enough. I can't wait to try this out with Thorn Barrage
.
Hmmmm... "Each attack from the Assault secondary power sets adds a bonus of 8 points toward filling the Domination bar over the normal value..."
I might be using Thorny Darts a hell of a lot more. -
Thanks for your comments
.
My (evil) Warshade plans are on hold until I can turn him *cough* rogue... DIE HUMANS... *ahem*. But I'm guessing the whole rogue mechanic will have a bench to it, so I'm figuring leveling to 20/25 in preperation.
Keep me posted how you get on.
Oh about Leadership, I run it on my MM with no Stamina, with Endreducs in & it's ok.
Edit: Will Orbiting Death break Hide/Interuppt AS? I have Quills on my Spines, & I'm not sure I've ever managed it even with a fair bit of accuracy in it.
Anyway, I think this could be an interesting project a little out of the ordinary *if* it can work to some degree. -
Following a theme...
...so has anyone used a Warshade in PvP. I have a buddy that pounded a Brute to pieces in Sirens.
How decent is the stealth & +perception on Shadow Cloak? And is there enough Warshade damage output to make it viable? -
[ QUOTE ]
In PVE sure, dominators give a whole new meaning to the term "squishy".. Aggroing everything and being unable to withstand anything.. And having naff attacks on top of that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope. Not correct AT all. Those are the trademarks of a naff player, not a naff AT. -
[ QUOTE ]
I shout lame very fast cause of my somewhat short tempered behaviour..
[/ QUOTE ]
Then unfortunately people are going to reach an opinion of you very fast.

I have no issues with Domination in PVE at all.
The only issue is just not being able to get it to work in PvP. In the usual fights I really don't see, factoring in the survivabilty, how the Dev's can really think the pace of PvP fights is such that a Dominator can get it activated very much at all. Sure, you might be lucky to get into a 1 on 1 at some point, but building from flatline up over 4 or minutes isn't realistic and happens rarely.
