Power surge has all the toxic resistance in the set, so I wouldn't necessarily get rid of it even if you could.
I agree with bAss on not picking Cardiac, though instead of Spiritual I recommend musculature radial for more damage plus better endmod (affects both stamina and power sink). On that note, power sink could use a couple more slots in all of these builds. Three endmod IO's plus the musculature radial tier 4 make power sink able to completely sap an entire spawn--even bosses--after their first attack.
Edit: Also, you don't actually need Havoc Punch in that last build you posted. You have just enough recharge to run CI>CB>JL>CB while hasten is up, which is the best chain anyway. -
I would think it is the same, just inserting Nimble every time you need to refresh the debuff.

Quote:Wow, the addition of Vengeful Slice still hurts your dps. I feel ripped off with that power.Let's see, in my DPS template builds, I have Sweeping Strike in the top chain doing 432.2 damage every 5.436 seconds. Gapless that would be every 5.28 seconds, so about 82 DPS in the cone. For Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals, Sweeping Strike plus the Attack Vitals damage is 540.76 damage every 6.73 seconds, so about 80 DPS. Basically the same.
By the way, is the combo damage supposed to ignore buffs? I thought it was, but it is definitely benefiting either from SS's enhancement or blinding feint/musculature. -
That's 20 degrees, not 45, which makes a very big difference. Sweeping strike also shows better base dpa than Golden Dragonfly, not factoring in the buildup/blinding feint difference. I like both sets a lot, but in my opinion DB has better AoE.
Quote:You're right, I did forget about Thousand Cuts. Its horrendously long animation time is such a turn-off for me I forgot about it entirely.
Quote:I believe that once Katana gets the procs going(purples and -res) it has better ST DPS than Fiery Melee, though it's mostly Lethal damage.
On the topic, I would keep the ability to do the AV chain, because if you are fighting an enemy with several others around him, the bonus damage from AV gets applied to all that are hit by SS. -
S/L. It covers more than melee does by a large margin, including many defense debuff attacks.
If you are able to do two, I would probably softcap melee and range. If three, definitely the positionals. -
Quote:/bind shift+lbutton "powexecname Lightning Rod"
Do you think it would be possible to bind BOTH TP powers to the L Click button on the mouse, and just click once and then click again just like having multiple toggles binded to one key..? or might it be easier to bind lightning rod to left, and shield charge to the right. lol
/bind alt+lbutton "powexecname Shield Charge" -
Don't expect the 100% critical for Fireball to last forever, as it is definitely a bug.

Quote:Stick with it. It is definitely a late-blooming set, but well worth itI actually thought about how I had a DB/elec scrapper and then wondered if I should have gone brute instead. I think the fact that I could pick only the attacks I wanted to end up with versus taking one to help build fury was what sealed the deal. I can't recall when it was made because the placement of Energize was likely a reason as well. I didn't have an AoE based build on that server so it fills that role. Ok, so I made a Spines/elec later on...
The DB/elec is 32 and I have only deleted one level 30 so far, so I just don't feel like axing something for the sake of being slightly more uber when it's been fun so far.

Quote:Electric with some s/l defense through sets is fanfreakingtastic in regular content and especially itrials. There are a couple reasons you might actually want to take it on a scrapper though...It's early, and I need to make the build into a post i19 one, but so far my Dark/elec has been one of the more frustrating builds so far. I made it in the buzzsaw days and then that got changed. I actually talked to a SG/VG mate and asked if they had made one and they said they had and it's one of their better brutes, but it just develops late. Mine's like 24, but I hate being any type of meatshield on a team right now. I'm ok if I'm solo, or the secondary melee. I want to keep it since it works in my head, but it's just been frustrating so far. I'll blame the lack of Energize on part of the frustration so far. Rerolling a SS/elec, or SS/sd is rather temping. Yes, I'm aware of the cost to make SS/sd shine.
1) If pairing with kat/broadsword for lethal and melee defense
2) You can pair it with Shadow Meld
3) If you go musculature radial paragon to make powersink more potent (sapping 94% of endurance from everything short of an EB/AV in one shot? yes please), then the damage buff portion of that benefits a scrapper a bunch more than it does a tank or brute. Really if it weren't for this one I would have made my db/elec a brute.
My level 50+++ kat/elec scrapper is SO'd and still creams the trials
My level 50+ IO'd db/elec scrapper was soloing weapons cache and containment chamber spawns in lam yesterday and today. I kid you not. -
Your build looks good. I would want to get some damage in dwarf drain, but otherwise, there aren't any glaring issues popping out at me.
As far as incarnate stuff goes,
Alpha: Spiritual, either core or radial, but I suggest core
Judgment: An issue of taste, really
Lore: If you spend a lot of time playing hover-blaster-tank, then your best bet for pets to stay alive is Seers, as they will hover with you, attacking from range. Otherwise, Warworks do the most single target damage, and Clocks do a bunch of AoE damage from range. I like Clocks best, but I went with Seers on my ultrashade.
Interface: Reactive. 'nuff said.
Destiny: Clarion can give you mez protection (I'd rather use break free binds myself); barrier can give you defense/resistance (the resistance portion is worthless to you); ageless can give you recovery+recharge+debuff protection (we lack debuff protection); rebirth can give you +hp or +regen (the +regen one is more potent). My choice was rebirth +regen, but my shade always has enough break frees and is soft capped to range. -
The data chunk you posted appears to be for an undeveloped mastermind...

Quote:Ablating can indeed take the achilles proc, but Ablating is not in the Stalker version of Attack Vitals (it is in all other versions). The only Stalker combo that uses Ablating is Sweep, but that also requires BU and AS, so it can't be chained. This odd... I thought Stalker's Ablating can take -defense set. Weird. I guess it does not. I know I've tested Mako damage proc in it and when it proc, it hurts everyone within Sweeping Combos' radiuis (which is what? 10' or 8'?).
Edit: Oops, BrandX explained it above me -
The sweep combo is especially nonsensical; there are no AoE's in it and they had to change Ablating strike to have the AoE affect. That's just weird.
And yes, the lack of Blinding Feint is not at all helpful. -
DB on Stalkers is all mixed up compared to other versions. It's best chain should be Attack Vitals, but you can only put one purple proc and no -res procs into that. The Scrapper version can do very well, but I'm thinking the Stalker version falls faaar behind because of the combo mix up.
-
No pause. You can count part of the animation time of AS, as you just need to be hidden when it lands.
-
Quote:And your list is fine for that, just primaries stuff. It's just also helpful to know the list of tricks.I'm not saying knowing them isn't bad. But it also assumes every combo of Brutes is going to take the Soul Mastery PPP.
Same as adding in Caltrops to Electric Melee, as it assumes everyone is /Nin.
Sticking to the Primary (even if adding IOs) is a good way to go "This is what to expect if you don't have a few of these *shows list* tricks to add to it" -
Quote:Electric is special, because LR is a "pet" and does not break hide. This means you can run your regular chain (CI>CB>JL>CB) and insert (Caltrops>BU>LR>AS) and end up getting a fully "hidden" AS. Caltrops and WS are also pets, so they don't break hide, and Buildup also does not. By the time those things are finished activating you will be back in hide without having used placate. (Can't be hit for this to work, so it helps also that nin is defense based).I'm curious on this.
Why would you use Assassin Strike, without being hidden? Is it's DPS that much better without the hidden status?
Does Caltrops really add that much to one's DPS?
LR I would think would eat the end, but if one can do the targeting fast, then yeah adding in LS when it recharged would be great DPS.
While the regular part of your chain does something like ~128.5 dps with tohit clamp, purple procs, and -res proc, the bit with Lightning Rod and AS averages out to about 189 dps, not counting any damage done by Waterspout or Caltrops. That boosts your average dps by a lot or a little, depending on your recharge values.
By the way, Caltrops and Waterspout do generally good DPA if we were allowed to include them. -
-
K, putting in purple procs, applying the tohit clamp and the -res from procs, Ninja Blade comes out to ~172.3 dps, not including Buildup (that gets messier than I'd like at the moment).
-
Actually, Electric Melee's chain gets really complicated, and even more so if you use the special trick with /nin, but that increases its dps dramatically.
With nin, it will end up being more like this:
Waterspout or Caltrops->BU->LR->AS->(Repeat CI->CB->JL->CB until others recharge) {Notice no placate} -
Quote:You did mention it, and your list was goodWell, I thought I mentioned that.
Or at least when mentioning how Ninja Blade and Dual Blades can slot both -Resist and Two Purple Procs, though NB is already ahead of DB in DPS, however, DB has better AOE in it's chain.I just thought it would also be helpful to have a ranking with the various procs that could make a big difference.
Edit: Electric Melee can take a -res proc too -
Well I'm either going to put a damage proc in or the Gaussian. I know the fire rate is very low, but I'm just looking at long-term single target dps. The point about outside buffs possibly rendering the Gaussian useless is something I hadn't thought of.
The set it's put in does matter, at least theory-wise. For general play, I don't much care; I have enough dps to take down normal stuff quite easily. It's the pylons/AV's that I am tweaking for. -
I've heard many times that the Gaussian's Chance for Buildup proc is not worthwhile in Follow from Claws, but I am wondering if it is in Blinding Feint from Dual Blades. I'm thinking Dual Blades has slightly better damage, so a buildup proc might do more than a regular proc here, unlike in Claws. Thoughts?
(BF>AV chain)
Edit: I think I just calculated for a random build that a proc would add something like 2.2 dps over the long run, but the Gaussian would add about 12 dps...
