  1. I've moved mine over to Freedom as well, and one of my farm toons to support the habit.
  2. I question your slotting of drain life. Panacea is great for bonuses if that's all you plan on using drain life for but drain life is also your most damaging attack (if memory serves) so I'd recommend slotting a couple of Nucleolus and couple of Golgi HamiOs plus a Dam/Reg and Heal/Reg IOs.

If you are going to leave the Panacea in there I'd recommend at least an putting the +end+reg unique into something like health and slotting a lvl 50 Acc IO in there otherwise you'll be missing alot.
  3. I can pretty much guarantee the Justice PVP population is going to take a big hit. I've moved a couple of toons to Freedom and then back again in the past. Mainly because I had left my resource toons (my farmers and PLers) on Justice so it was always a pain to level new toons on Freedom. Now that I can move all of my characters free of charge I'll most likely move everything to Freedom (leaving some PVE toons on Justice.)

The free server transfers are going to be great for increasing Freedom's PVP population (notice I said population not necessarily the PVP quality itself) but it's going to hurt all the other servers imo.

That's good to know. I can toss in another KB IO somewhere.

As far as getting kills are concerned, bolt-bolt-blast, repeat, throw in incandescent strike when the opportunity arises. It's surprisingly good.

I used to switch to nova form and pound away with the two blasts which was great but if someone was able to close with me (especially Psi doms) then I could be dropped really fast.

I have found human form's survivability may not kill as fast as Nova but I get just as many kills by surviving longer instead of dying quickly in nova (and switching out to heal.)

Here is my current PVP PB build. There is alot to be said for the damage provided through nova form (inluding its awesome range) but it is just "oh-so-squishy" compared to human form. Dwarf form is great for melee fights but I despise the slow movement of dwarf so only use it for the heal.

Any empy slot is filled up with a PVP IO Set or IO (Panacea heal sets in essence boost, reform essence and dwarf sublimation. A panacea proc is in health, and javelin proc in gleaming bolt and blast.) The PVP IOs could easily be switched to any of the heal sets (doc wounds is cheap and good) so that is an option if building on a budget.

As others have said, PBs are very hard to kill when played well and I can tell you this (primarily) human form build really dishes out some decent damage, and I don't have to spend alot of time switching between forms (I also get fly!)

  6. Hey all!

I'll be hanging around for a month (or maybe two) until CO comes out, so if anyone needs a SUB I'm happy to offer my services
  7. Hi everyone!

My accounts run out this week and I am not going to renew them. I will most likely be back when the "Rogue" expansion hits because it has peeked my interest.

In the meantime, my characters will not age while all of yours do. So I expect to see some grey hair and saggy spandex when I return.

    Until then, GL HF!
  8. Cheers Dan! It's been a slice. GL in all that you do.

    Within 3 levels.

The way I've seen it at Arena terminals, a 50 Fire/Kin or Thugs/X MM just attacks an immobile 47 or 50 with no toggles on, rinse and repeat. Usually can get 50-60 kills in 10 minutes, sometimes more if they're dual boxing the target(s).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You mean 30 minutes there...

The only thing "meh" about shield charge is the 90 sec recharge.
  13. I have a total of 47.5% range on my PB and his 100 foot Nova blasts are sitting at 119.something last I checked. That's a worse return on my investment than DreadShinobi is getting on his. Would I actually get more range with less bonus? I am thinking I could easily drop down to 30% if it's actually going to give me a bigger bonus to my range...

Is it possible HamiOs are not affected by DR because they are not set bonuses?
  14. Btw, Posi, I'd like to fight you on my Shield tank and see how he does. I'll send you a tell in game when I see you!
  15. Sappers are pretty popular noawadays. Out of the two toons you have I'd probably pick the elec/elec. It won't be the best sapper but I'd be willing to bet it would be a pita to fight
  16. Fun events guys, thanks very much for putting it together

    Can PB PvP well?

    [ QUOTE ]
Pre-13, PBs had very good survivability but too weak damage to score many kills, though you could quite often surprise inexperienced/non-pvp doms, corrs, or stalkers and take them out. Brutes, well, I don't know if I've ever beaten a brute 1v1 with my PB, either before or after I13. Electric armor used to be a very popular set in pvp zones and it gave them 90% energy resistance... not exactly a good matchup for a PB

In i13+ pvp, PBs are still very, very survivable - one of the more survivable ATs, in fact, and the only one to get a dull pain clone, a reconstruction clone, and a phase shift power all as part of their main sets. The status effect changes work strongly in your favor and nova form's ST attacks are now both brutal and evil (100 foot base range, good damage. Slot a little range and odds are good if you can see it, it's in range to attack).

Human form damage is... very weak still. You'd probably be better off using Flurry instead of incandescent strike, for example, even though their activation times are similar (flurry is actually a little faster).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Human form damage isn't as good as Nova by any stretch but with gleaming bolt you can slot a couple procs in it (like the purple and PVP procs) and go to town. That with gleaming blast and you can set up a nice ranged attack chain with blast, bolt, bolt, blast, repeat (if your recharge is half decent.)

Incandescent Strike happens to be one of the hardest hitting attacks in the game. It's base damage sits around 199 at compared to 151ish for flurry (on PBs.) Flurry is no slouch but I'd take the whallop of incandescent strike over the dot of flurry anyday of the week.

    Can PB PvP well?

I have been having tremendous success in zones with mine. I stick to human and nova form (the switch to dwarf for the heal takes too long imo.)

The range in Nova and the survivability of human form make it very dificult to kill a PB (even by several opponents) and getting kills is a pretty easy.

This is the first time I've had a PB and I built him specifically for PVP and it is quickly becoming my favourite PVP toon. I do need to do more duels in arena with him though. I expect to have trouble with sappers (who doesn't) who will most likely get kills on me. I don't expect to die to fire/ss tanks (or ss/fire brutes) or regens but I doubt I'll be killing them either.
  21. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I always forget about HamiOs. That's a good idea.
  22. Hi all,

I am curious to know how the rest of you slot Nova form and would like to make some comparisons. Keep in mind, I use this toon primarily for PVP.

Currently I have mine slotted with:

    Soaring End/Fly
    Soaring Fly
    Blessing of the Zephyr End/Fly
    Lvl 50 End Mod IO X 2
Rectified Reticle +Perception IO (I PVP on this toon)

I am wondering if I have gone overboard on the +fly and or +end (I really don't have any end problems whatsoever in Nova) so I've been thinking of switching the End Mod IOs for three Performance Shifter IOs for the +rec and +HP.

    OR...

Switching to one Lvl 50 Fly IO, Lvl 50 EndMod IO, Gaussian's Tohit, Gaussian's Tohit/End, Gaussian's Tohit/End/Rech and Rectified Reticle +Perception IO . (This would give me a bit more tohit and a few more HPs at the cost of some flight speed and recovery.)

    Suggestions?
  23. That is certainly not the norm Posi.

I typically use a fire/kin to defeat a scrapper (lower resists) and I average about 1 recipe every 80 kills. I THINK I have gone that long before without getting a drop, but I have also received three recipes in the span of 15 minutes before (get one, switch to other character and get one, then switch back and get another.)

Keep at it, it should even out.
