Not that it matters, but you got my vote.

Quote:Great, although I think a traps toon will be at quite a disadvantage in an arena setting. If you are up for it though I'll send you a tell tonightI gave in a put my Traps Corr there last night and as expected had a fun time for a bit. He'll probably be there for a minute. At one point I had 4 or 5 toons there, but disliked getting all my good drops on freedom while my pesonal storage for all my several other toons was on virtue. To avoid the headache to come, I decided to stay on Virtue and just vacation toons on freedom.
I usually agree to most arena invites sent to me in a friendly fashion, but hardly ever search for matches or make KBs/join events/etc... -
This thread has been a good read.
So, Dahjee do you just stick to zones or do you do any 1v1s, arena at all? I'd be more than happy to give your toon a try if you are game. If not, I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for you in zones to experience your trapping and see how it does.
What toons do you have on Freedom? Corr, fender? Should I send something to Virtue? I just want to see what you can accomplish on a traps toon. -
As far as Blaster Ice Blast is concerned, I'd be happy with an adjustment in recharge times (and a bit of a damage boost to BiB.)
Considering Ice Blast's secondary effect is next to useless in PVP (and in PVE imo) I'd be happy to see Bitter Ice Blast's recharge brought in line with other tier threes to a 10 second recharge rather than the current 12, and have the tier one and tier two dropped to 2 and 4 (like fire's) but I'd settle for 3 and 6.
As it stands now, because of the 4, 8, and 12 second recharges it takes a high amount of recharge to pump out a continuous attack chain (even harder in PVP thanks to DR on recharge.) I see no reason why Ice Blast can't have similar recharge to Fire given that Ice's secondary effect is basically innefective while Fire, Sonic, Rad, etc, retain the usefulness of their secondary effects. -
Yeah Iggy, I didn't catch that in Mids but did actually take SJ in place of it in the actual build which is actually quite a bit different than the one posted hehe. Imanub.

Hi all,
I just wanted to give a big thanks to Black Mute for bringing PVP back to Warburg. For the past week or so Ive been watching the PVP in WB on Justice (which has been kind of slow since free transfers came out) but I still see the occasional matchup duel of two people or maybe even three people duking it out fiteclub style in relatively secluded parts of the zone. Those fights are pretty heated too, usually they last anywhere from two to five minutes and some of the players get right back up in the middle of combat with a self-rez power. But still, it's been kind of slow, that is until Black Mute decided to spice things up
Black Mute has been taking them all out with his fire/ss tank. Ive seen him jump into those duels and small fights and take them completely by surprise. His opponents pets and damage auras appear to be totally ineffective in taking Black Mute down.
Ive seen others chasing Black Mute but he always makes it to the safe zone only to reappear when the duellers and small groups start fighting each other again. He is a tough opponent for sure, and his taunts in broadcast are classic.
In any case, if you are looking for some good PVP, no matter what server you are on, give Black Mute a try. He has said he cant be stopped and will continue to bring PVP to everyone in any of the zones on any server.
So thanks Black Mute, PVP has been kind of boring lately and I hope to learn all I can about what makes you so good at PVP.
Cheers! -

I'll be there if Ra's tourney on Freedom falls through.

Looks much better, but I'd suggest a couple more tweaks. First, take two slots out of Stamina and switch to Performance Shifter (End Mod, End Mod/Rech, End Modd/Acc and End Mod %Chance) And take those two slots and put them in Super Speed and put in the Celerity Set (Stealth IO set) which will also give you another 1.5% HP (dunno your total Hps, but if you aren't capped this will help.)
Also, I'd recommend switching swift for hurdle, dropping the +range Zephyr from Super Jump and putting it in hurdle for two jump IOs (that should max your jump speed if I remember correctly.)
One other thing, I'd switch the +defense LOTG in cloaking device for a def/end. the +Def is really not going to make any difference but the added end redux will.
Other than that, that's pretty much the way I'd build mine except I prefer medicine over concealment but both are good for a number of different situations. If you can spare a slot somewhere, putting a sixth slot in Hoafrost (heal/rech) wouldn't hurt either.
Cheers! -
For a sort of all around PVP build here are a few suggestions...
In flares I'd drop the Dam/Reg and put in the Apoc damage proc, add a slot and either put in a hold proc (devastation) or a gladiator's javelin damage proc.
Drop fire ball and pick up taser slot it with five purples. You need some kind of mezz attack. You could skip the hold proc in flares for damage proc but might be wise to keep both considering the short range of taser.
Take the Ragnarok's you had in fireball and put them in caltrops and drop the Damage for the KD Proc. This is mostly a purple mule but has it's uses in zones for de-cloaking stalkers around your hibernating friends.
You don't have nearly enough Knockback protection. You should shoot for 41 points. You can do this by adding Zephyrs (KB Prot) to Super Speed, Combat Jumping and Cloaking Device. And by switching Epics to Cold Mastery. Cold mastery is king for PVP on blasters. Take Snowstorm (one end reduc) Frozen Armor (2 KB Protections - one from Karma and one from Steadfast) and I slot it for resist (3 titanium coating.) Then Hoarfrost (5 or 6 slotted with doc wounds is good enough or if you got the cash 5 panacea) and Hibernate (2 recharge IOs or 3 numina - end/rech, heal/rech, end/heal/rech - if you need a little +hp .)
Ideally as a fire/dev for power pools you'll want hasten and superspeed; combat jumping, super leap, and acrobatics; hurdle, health, and stamina, and for your fourth power pool you could go either leadership for more +tohit (although you won't get much more benefit from the +tohit in tactics since you have targeting drone, and DR will hit it hard,) +damage, and slotting options by adding more Luck of the Gambler +7.5 recharges, and more Karma Knockback Prot. OR you could pick up medicine and take stimulant and aid self (stim will give some mez resistance to team member.) Some people still take concealment pool on */dev blasters so they have Phase and Hibernate which has it's uses but I find it is not necessary and I'd rather take something I'd use more often but you might like it.
By all the is holy, get rid of timebomb. You can switch that for gun drone which actually has its uses. Either as a set mule or it actually comes in handy in 1v1 or 2v2 situations.
That's it off the top of my mind. I am at work so can't offer a MIds build but I hope that helps. -

Ice/Dev Blaster
Fire/Em Blaster
Mind/Therm Troller
Ill/Emp Troller

Shield/SS Tank
Fire/Fire Tank
Fire/Regen Scrap (weapons mastery)
Red Side

Are you willing to respec into a PvP build?: They are all PVP specced (except the MM, mostly because I don't know what the heck to do with it) but sure.
Are you willing to roll a new character if needed?: Sure.
Briefly describe your PvP experience: Since COV came out. Zone, arena (duels, small teams and events.) Also hosted plenty of PVP events on Justice. Mostly familiar with the blaster playstyle but getting into emping. -
