    I disagree with your broad generalization there, MG. While I won't argue that some did (Virtual Slayer - 50k enemies in Test Mode), but not all of them were that heinous (To The Rescue - 50 hostages, Cataclysmic - 50 destructible objects). I thought the last ones took a bit of work / playtime, but in no way did they require farming.

    I didn't mean that the badges necessarily required farming, I meant that the badges required using the MA, so if one were inclined to farm to get badges quickly, one would necessarily have to use the MA to farm it.

  6. Team Mental took a beating last night. 2 Brutes, a Dom, an MM, a Stalker, and a Corr, and not enough healz to go around!

    I'm actually realizing that Pain Dom is way too heal focused... where's my Recovery Aura? Regen Aura? Fort? I guess there's one big single target buff coming up, but I get the feeling that once everyone's defenses are up I'm going to be hoping for team damage to buff my DPS.

    I think the sets will be free... access to the new areas and side switching will be in the box. The new AT (I'm guessing "Spy" not Pistol or Demon Epics), if there is one, may also be box only.

    City of Villains cost me either $49.95 or $59.95 (can't remember) at the time when City of Heroes cost $19.95. I've no reason to believe this one will be cheaper. After all, an item pack with just one costume set in it is $9.95, we have to expect this will be significantly more expensive.

    I'm thinking it will be between $30 and $50. No way they are releasing an expansion pack for the cost of two Costume Boosters.

    I'm not sure how you determined this. It seems pretty clear that you will have access to one side initially (Paragon if Hero and Rogue Isles if Villain) as well as Praetoria, and then eventually by changing alignment you can gain access to the opposite side and lose access to you starting side.

    If they do implement a true "gray area" for characters to start, it will either be in Praetoria or in some new area we haven't heard about yet.

    I'm not saying that a toon will be able to have his choice of side and corresponding content right out the box but he can feasibly do all available content before he hits 50 (unless it's a non-EAT; then by default, he won't have access to EAT missions unless he teams with one as well as the tutorials (if they're not in Ouros)).

    I understand now. You are correct. I'm hoping there will be enough content in Praetoria for it to act a a third City, which would mean a lot more stuff to do (not including the MA which already gives us virtually unlimited content).
  11. Because of the time involved, the bar for kicking from a TF should be much higher, unless it's the first mission or something.

    On a team, simply by virtue of the mechanic of the star, essentially anything that pisses off the leader is grounds for dismissal.

    I was, but back when CoV was coming out much was made about the fact that red-side didn't have a dedicated h34l0r (Therm was consolation prize...). Of course, now Corrs (and MMs) have Pain Dom, so it's less of an issue... but I'm still curious to see how many Empaths will cross over.

    And your point? If it's going to take as much time as people seem to think it will to switch a character over and I go to that trouble then I want to keep that alignment until I darn well feel like going back, if ever. If I redeem a villain and I like playing him blue-side, but a bunch of my buddies are running mishes in Praetoria that might fall into that red area of the spectrum, I'd still like to be able to run mishes with them without endangering my characters alignment, same if I wanna keep my Hero blue-side and keep him a pure blue-sider, doesn't mean I might not wanna team with buddies on some missions that could jeopardize that.

    I've been trying to think of a good analogy to what you're asking for, and I'm not sure I have one yet. I'll just say that if your friends were playing red-side content, up until Going Rogue hits you would have had to play red-side. So you didn't have absolute freedom to do whatever content you wanted. I don't see why the Devs would grant that for the (rare?) alignment effecting missions, especially when the whole point of the expansion is to explore what it means to be good or evil.
