Quote:Prepare to be very surprised. I wanted a 1 to 50 route through Praetoria, and I know that isn't happening, even though we haven't heard everything in GR.As I recall it, someone was all depressed since they didn't think we were getting anything other than the 1-20 stuff. That is what I'm responding to. But hey, if you want to be a downer about it all now, you go right ahead.
The point is that there IS more content to GR than just the 1-20 stuff, morality arcs, and one Praetorian level. And I would be very surprised if it's just a little something here and there.
Quote:I'm glad that they won't have radio missions in Praetoria. I know some few like them, but they're rather generic and boring. I hate having to do them redside to get contacts so often (and for the accolade). I do hope this means that they will offer us multiple routes to 20, though. There will have to be loyalist and resistance runs, of course, but I hope the devs have noted how much people like the low levels blueside, as opposed to redside. A lot more options.
Quote:I've looked in some other threads on the Q & A, and I'm rather surprised at how negative people are, saying we didn't learn anything. -

A GM based on me would be pret... OH! Is that a bunny?

Quote:I think he meant a real week of cooldown. Meaning: no matter if you're a Vet who can polish off the content in one night, or a n00b who has to do it over several days, once you move one notch over (from Hero to Vigilante, for example), you can't proceed on the path to the other side until a week elapses. Also true, and no disagreement. I'm wildly speculating that the reason there are four rather large zones is a wide variety of missions available for the switching (as well as starting out). And, of course, a lot of this is dependent on what exactly Posi meant by about a week. Is that week to rockin' veterans used to speed TFs? The casual player? The noob?

Quote:Where's the impact to PvP? Synapse would be working on PvP recipes or something if he wasn't doing badges?Your emphatic no, is emphatically wrong. Synapse works on badges, powers, merits, and drops. So time he spends doing one thing necessarily takes time from any other thing.

Quote:No. One "degree" is not 1%, it's one "morality level", so to go from Hero to Villain it would take two weeks: Hero-> Vigilante {1 week} then Vigilante-> Villain {1 week}One would hope so. In fact, has anyone bothered to do the math on this one? If they're shooting for 1% a week, that's 100 weeks to fully switch over. According to the Internet, there are 52 (and a bit) weeks in a year, so that's TWO YEARS to switch over ONE CHARACTER. This is so completely stupid that I have a hard time believing that's what they're really shooting for. Either that answer was misspoken and ambiguous, or we're reading it wrong.
To do a full roundtrip of Hero to Villain and back to Hero would take a month. That's not horrible.
This is the one question of mine the devs answered that I was happy with, because it gave us some useful new information. -
Quote:I asked that question, and I was hoping for something more specific... now everyone's going to think you can do 1-50 in Preatoria. There are already a ton of great questions answered from the Q&A. One of my other favorites being that there is also unannounced content that is not the 1-20 Praetoria stuff, morality arcs, or the first Incarnate level. Wewt!

Here's the one worthwhile response I got:
Can you give us some more detail on how morality arcs will work, and approximately how much time it will take to switch from Hero to Vigilante, and then from Vigilante to Rogue? by mentalgiant
Posi- There is a cooldown timer that will slow the process. We are still working on the exact numbers, but we're eyeballing a week's worth of work to switch one degree. -
GP, those answers don't really tell us anything. There could be a new TF or two in Praetoria, but it says nothing about whether you will be able to go from 20 to 50 in Praetoria.
In another answer, the Devs said that Praetoria will have no radio missions, so clearly things will be different there. My hope is that the Praetorian experience won't be on rails until 20. -

How do we post questions to the Q&A? I created a Formspring account, but I don't see where I can submit questions to this specific event.
Is it here? -
-
Wait, I thought the command was a one time event. When you do that it establishes a standing rule for the channel to kick anyone who hasn't logged in in X days? If that's the case, then 30 should probably be the minimum.

If I understand this correctly /chan_timeout AwesomeChannel 0" would do nothing, correct?

Sandolphan's MM Binds
Learn them. Use them. Love them.
It's a whole 'nother game once you set them up.
Oh, and welcome to Victory and the game! -
Mmm... merits! My BS/Shield Scrapper needs a lot to get the cool stuff.
In! -
That's huge... I hadn't heard that. Do you mean that Rogues can't start any Hero side contact, or just TFs? How will Oroborous work? That's a big obstacle to someone who wants to solo with their "Gray-side" toon in the opposite area.
-
That sounds pretty painless for a Dr. Q.
-
For concept and RP reasons, this will always be true. I have several characters that are either Goody Goody or Irredeemable myself. My point is that beside those examples, there is very little reason to keep to one side. Unless the devs knock our socks off with the "Staying True" incentive, I see a large migration of toons to the middle ground.
-
Quote:They do get full access to both sides of the game. Every mission, every arc, every TF and SF, all trials, etc. The only thing that Rogues and Vigilantes do not have access to is the market from the opposite side... so Rogues can't use Wentworths and Vigilantes can't use the Black Market.Except that Vigilantes and Rogues do not get access to what I would call both sides of the game. They can travel to the opposite city, yes, but they can only do additional Vigilante or Rogue missions there, AFAIK.
As mentioned above, the devs have said there will be a reason to "stay true", but we have no details on that. My suspicion is that it will be insufficient to keep most people from going Vigilante.
