Thanks for the run, Mrs. MP and Arkyaeon.
The 100Minf was a nice bonus! -
Augustine is the short and boring one, Dr. Quarterfield is the looong and boring one.

I got on a Tin Mage PUG and wow... you really need a balanced team. We had 3 Scrappers, 2 Blasters, a Dom, a Defender, and a Controller, and we made it to the final mish painfully, but just couldn't take out Neuron. The lack of a Tank was a definite issue, as was little to no debuff.

I guess it depends on your DPS. If you have enough, you can beat him down without even bothering with the clones. I was on an All-Human Warshade at the time, and I was able to make quick work of the clones and get back into the fight. The timer felt between 45 seconds to a minute between Bifurcations.
-
What about just killing the Bifurcations as they spawn, and beating on Trapdoor when they're not around?
-
I'll come dressed as Ducky.

Last night I crafted a Musculature boost for my Blaster, and I'm 8 merits (or 4 merits and a LGTF run) shy of the Uncommon boost.
I imagine as more people slot up and build up shards for the next two tiers, the lvl 45 TFs/SFs will become even easier. Maybe I can finally get LRSF on my Salker! -
If I seem bipolar it's only because you buy into the fallacy that I'm a rabid fanboi. The drop rate could be better... my 3 drops in 10 minutes came at the beginning of an 8-man ITF, with zillions of Cimerorans to slaughter

HBD, Viv! On this special day you can stay on my lawn... but tomorrow: OFF!

I assume it will be Isos as usual.
-
That is a reasonable conclusion, but the devs are adding content that will be challenging for those who have unlocked their slots, such as the two new TFs in I19.
-
I've got an idea to spice up Isos. How about after we ding 50 this run we do the Ramiel arc and run TFs until everyone gets at least a common boost? Who's with me?
-
Quote:What's the alternative here? This game is still nominally a Role Playing Game, so there is some expectation that things need to make sense for characters. Incarnate level abilities are something special. This idea goes out the window if we just have to talk to a contact a lvl 50 and say "Make me an Incarnate!"It's padding, filler, makework. Tedium for the sake of tedium, because "that's what all MMOs do." Go through this fifteen-part attunement questline or you can't come on the raid. Grind a hundred Overseers because we say so. Did you collect all of the plot coupons for Castanella and save the Lost? Well go do it again, or no ITF for you! Doing this stuff once I can understand, or on the characters for whom it should be explicitly part of their story, but on every single one? Why, because Jack said so back in 2005?
The other issue is that when you remove specific arcs to unlock content, it will usually be replaced with some random drop. This tends to lead to a disparity between hardcore™ and casual players unlocking the content. By using mission content to unlock content you know exactly what to do.
If we wanted to toss all required content, then unlocking would boil down to "Get to level X and you can do Y". For the most part, that is how CoX works. The exceptions are Respec Trials, badge missions (including TFs, Safeguards and Mayhems), Cape and Aura arcs, Cimerora and the Incarnate system.
Personally, I don't find this onerous, and while I can see the OP's position, there is no requirement to unlock the Alpha Slot for every (or any!) character. -
-
I unlocked the slot on two toons, and ran an ITF. Got 6 shards and a component that I don't need until the uncommon tier.
The shard drop rate is a lot better than I expected.
Quote:I thought the Official Designation was "boost" for the final product, and "component" for the TF/assembled pieces. Common shard drops are just shards.Or I'll wait to see what Mental goes with and just copy him. -

Quote:Ah, ok. I understand now. I guess I can amend my statement to say if you haven't already bought the Complete Collection, there is no reason not to do it in the next two minutes. You can only add a Complete Collection retail code--or ANY retail code--to your account once, though. As I stated earlier, if you've already got one, it doesn't do you any good. (And I already have one.)
-
Quote:You get a free month... for 10 bucks. Even the yearly subscription doesn't give you that deal.... unless you've already got all of that, or simply don't want the things you don't already have.
Like I said, mathematically there's no reason not to do this. If you don't want another month's worth of subscription because you're not going to play, that's another story. -
Mathematically, it makes no sense to not take advantage of this deal.
-
I'm down for whatever tomorrow night.

Quote:Yeah, I was wondering why the hell NO ONE was on guard duty!Their bad for letting their guard down, ESPECIALLY since they knew the walkers were moving higher up into the mountains now. Damn that was brutal.
Also: Amy should have a bullet through the brainpan already... this is SOP, people!
