I can't commit to this 100%, so I might be on one week and off for three, but I'm more interested if this takes place after I13.
Also, I vote Blue Side. -
Intriguing.
You need a catchy name for this, though.
Voo's Crew on Victory? (VCoV)
Victory over Victory? (VoV)
Tuesday Night Victory? (TNV)

Hi Bruce!
Two quick questions:
1) What are the plans for increasing the variety of maps/tile sets in the game? I think mixing up the look of missions would go a long way to reduce tedium.
2) Are there any plans for environmental dangers in missions? I'm thinking pit traps, spike traps, lava or poison water, etc. -

Almost all my toons will end up with the Wentworth's Auctioneer or Black Marketeer badge, since that's usually where I log.

I think she did it just so she could say "hole-fillers".

Nice article, Unsub! I think you got pretty close to the truth, but of course we may never know.

Castle may be happy now, but I await the day he starts laying mushroom clouds.
I like him because he speaks what he feels, even if it is not politically correct. Reminds of George C. Scott's "Patton"

Ian and Ravenstorm were moved to MUO. The last bit of work Ian did for CoH was the Justice armor pieces for the GvE edition. Ravenstorm's last major contribution were Safeguard missions, but he came back on every once in a while to help out. He was responsible for setting up Hamidon(s) and GM spawn placements in the Hive and Abyss, as well as pathing for the Rikti Invasion ships.

Of course i dont have a link or quote but... wasnt it Mr. Statesman that said resources were not being pulled for MUO, or Co* wasnt going to be affected by MUO, yet they actually were? Not that I believed it because well im kinda in the development business and thats the nature of the beast is one thing, but wow, to flat out lie to the community is another thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as it did not affect the total Dev team size, then it did not affect the development of CoX. Remember, NC made the call to reduce the Development team by 75%. -
[ QUOTE ]
At the same time, I'm a little irritated. I seem to recall being told over and over that no resources were being taken away from CoH to develop CoV, and that no resources were being taken away from CoX to develop MUO. I don't remember the exact quotes, but I can't help but feel that I was lied to.
[/ QUOTE ]
How were you lied to, exactly? The team was 60 (or so) strong when they were developing CoV, and we don't know how the work was split then. Shortly after CoV launched, the team was gutted to the skeleton crew of 15. It sounds like anyone who was moved off the project to work on something else in Cryptic was replaced with someone else. They maintained the 15 strong team until the NCNC buyout. -
15 people running the show since '06? Amazing!
Never have so few done so much for so many while receiving so much grief.
Devs, I salute you! -
The Costume Set selection is a welcome addition.
Thanks, Devs! -
Controllers shouldn't have got Thermal.
Stalkers shouldn't have got Elec / Elec.
Tanks didn't want DA / DM.
Other than that, it's okay. -
My first reaction: this blows.
The Patron Power sets are already unpopular, and now the Epic AT is we get to be minions of lackeys?
Weak. -
I, for one, welcome our new (old) Rikti overlords!

While others may debate about the need for a Child of Tank, while the Pugs may cry out for a healer, while others may worry about the team they take with them to confront The Spiders Avatar, the Children of Defender do not need to worry themselves. We adapt to what is needed. Statesman has yet to set before us a challenge that Defenders cannot meet. These eight Victors demonstrated this truth once more. Others will follow, but remember these names: The first all Defender team to complete Statesmans Task Force.

Yeah, I loved the Kheld story too, back in the day.

From what I can tell, Matt Miller was not a founder. The founders I see are:
Michael Lewis
Rick Dakan
Bruce Rogers
Matt Harvey
Cameron Petty
and Jack
Perhaps Jack just meant that he was one of the first hires? -
BaB said they're even going to have a rapier and a main gauche available. That is just too awesome!

Weapon Customization! Holy [censored] [censored]!!!
Sometimes it's very good to be utterly wrong. -

I think Weapon Customization only for Dual Blades would be a big mistake, because then everyone would want customization for their axe/mace/broadsword/katana/rifle, and that is a huge undertaking, even if they already did it for Dual Blades.
I'll say this: maybe the blades we're seeing now aren't final, but there will be one Dual Blades model. You might get lucky and get a Katana/Wakizashi combo, but that's about it. Everyone gets the same two blades.
I'll happily admit I'm wrong if it turns out some other way, but I submit that that's highly improbable.
[/ QUOTE ]
How could it be a huge undertaking? Its not like your changing the physics of the game rather just the look of the sword/axe/mace/broadsword/katana/rifle. It should be no different than a costume change. If everything but the model design stays the same, it should be just a code string. If its that complicated perhaps I should quit my job in NDT (where intrepretation is everything) and go into programming.
[/ QUOTE ]
If it were that easy, I imagine it would have been done. My guess is that they do specific animations with a given model set. If you added 5 types of each weapon, you multiply the number of animations required by 5. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think it's much easier than my guess. -

For those who are "less than happy" with the look of the Dual Blade screenshots released, please keep in mind that it's still early in the release process with time to polish up features and you don't know all the features included in Issue 11 yet. As we move into October more details will be coming out so hang on to your hats (or blades, or whatever)
[/ QUOTE ]
How about passing on the concept of being able to chose your blades? Future, Relic, Mystical, Sammy, ect from the option menu?I bet that would quell alot of problems. I know Posi once said that the powers origin for blasts points and colors were "hard baked" but why not rework the new sets?
Then see if you can backwards engineer it
[/ QUOTE ]
I liked what you've done here. You went from "how about Power Customization?" when we've been told time and time again why we won't see that in the near future, to equating changing the colors of blasts (which is the easiest part of the thing that will take dev-years to do) to changing weapon models, which I imagine is even more complicated.
Suffice it to say this is not going to happen. I agree with the poster above that what we see now is pretty much what we're going to get.
You don't have to like it, but realize that the workaround suggested is not going to happen for I11.
[/ QUOTE ]
And if/when it does happen, I will be glad to make a post asking all of the nay sayers how crow tasts. (best I could do.)

Some day? Sure.
In I11? No.
