Her ear needs to go further back to! It looks kinda like it was just pasted on a flat side of her head

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, it's been moved around a little... Think I've been preoccupied with mouth/eyes/etc... That and I stare at it and try to figure out how to make it look like an *ear.*

Edit: Tweaked a bit, though I think I got more "up" than "back."
  2. Don't recall if I had a request previously or not...

But here's Charade de la Mort

Ok, got a "regular" size tablet so I can draw a bit bigger.

First sketch in it. Actually a friend's character from her "wild days."

I've actually pulled the cheek in a bit here... and relized it's the bottom of the far eye that's bugging me most... I need more lip work too.
  4. But... but...

    *sigh*

*hugs and extra creamer for Cuppa*

Hope it ends up being a big feather in your cap... so you can invite us all over for coffee...

Quick attempt to sketch my first 50. Didn't realize 'til I saw the scan how... stretched and narrow it looked.

And this is the first one I've tried drawing "bigger," Rowr.

The glasses look goofy, I know. Too wide and oddball perspective...

Here's the character, but no, I wasn't looking at the image... the computer was packed up at the time (yay for 15 hour drives.)

Myself, I actually want to ask ... WHY? Why Freedom? I don't HAVE any of my 'good' toons on Freedom for a costume contest.

Why not the Test Server, so we can actually have a fair contest? I would imagine that most folks 'best' toons require a cape -

    [/ QUOTE ]
Eh, "most" but not "all." One I'd like does need one, but is on another server. Fortunately, the one I want on Freedom doesn't need a cape. High enough level for one, yes, but not needed.

Still, we don't know if they're planning on going through the servers or not, one ever other month or some such. Which would, despite the extra work, probably generate *more* buzz for them than a bunch of semifinalists, then transferring to test...

Quick small sketches trying to figure things out - comments, what to work on, etc. would help (And when I say small, these are probably 2-3x bigger on screen than they are sketched...)

    various faces
Idea on how one of my characters might look "for real."

Small sketch of pushing... something. Very 80s hair... Poofy. And yes, I know she's missing her ear.

    Some guy, no reference

SG-mate - yeah, the legs are undefined, really... still bad with hands/feet/etc. I'll get to those.

Just a heads up in response to those of you at work who may be seeing broken images, they're actually Flash movies that probably aren't viewable on the comp you're using. Some areas of this new site require the use of the Flash 6 or above Plug In to view. Get Flash info here: http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sadly some places of work won't let you install new software such as the flash player on the PCs.
Its always a good idea to provide a flash free route through your site for those who have not got the player.

    [/ QUOTE ]

He does have an "HTML version" at the bottom of at least one section...

And one of my favourite characters, as far as looks, is on Freedom, so... seeya then
  10. Memphis_Bill

    Attempts...

Thought I'd throw quick sketches out of "not much in particular." These are fast, and - yes, I tend to hide faces. I *know* I need to work on faces/heads and proportion...

Still, some ideas on what to concentrate on "next" to get better would help. (Aside, as mentioned, from faces... and hands/feet, come to think of it... )
    Exhausted

This was more a quick layout of an idea for three SG characters, so it's *really* rough (and not really meant to have a heck of a lot of detail - but it's one I'd actually like to work on.) And yes, the faces are worse than usual
    Trio

More of an idea of how one of my MMs would really like her 'bots. Yes, it's staggered. No, not supposed to be perspective. And yes... no face again

*shakes head* no no no it's "Look what I can do!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure it's not "Hey, y'all, watch this?"

(Though seeing the picture, what came to mind was "The Council Empire's rendition of 'Swan Lake' did not go over as well as expected...")
  12. Well, that brought a smile as is... can't wait to see the finished product...

    War Witch posted?

I have to check my list, but I think it is one of the things that I have listed that means the end of the world is near.

    [/ QUOTE ]

WHAT?! How come I didn't get that memo??

Now that I've posted again, does that mean everything is cool again?

    WW

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dangit, now we've gone so far past the end of the world we're back where we were, just a few minutes later.

Or as Marvin the Martian would say, "Where was the Kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering Kaboom!"

    FAULTLINE!

    [ QUOTE ]
Actually, I like the opposite idea to protecting the damn. BECAUSE of the lack of heroes in Faultline, criminal groups successfully destroy the damn, and the huge chasm becomes flooded, creating a big lake. The difference is that the lake is DEEP, allowing for... * underwater missions *

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The damn what?

    *ducks, runs away chuckling*

    (Couldn't resist.)

    FAULTLINE!

    [ QUOTE ]
I think it would very very cool if the rebuilding of Faultline was done in interactive stages.
The first stage would be a push by the city to reclaim the zone, so there would be multiple missions of "protect the construction crew"
or "reclaim zone by defeating x villians" or "eradicate villians from hideout"
these missions could be tracked and scored, and a server vs server leader board could be constructed, showing which server was closest to reclaiming the zone.
when enough missions had been completed, then the zone would change, and a new set of contacts and missions populated, now that the zone is relativly "safe' from villains.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I suggested something vaguely related to this quite some time back, but using Boomtown instead - mostly because we don't see dumptrucks full of dirt heading to Faultline for an issue.

    I suggested a 3-issue stretch, though:
Phase 1 - "reclaiming" an area. More NPC presence, but with a "military" feel. Heroes are assigned missions to start rooting out the groups that have taken hold.

Phase 2 - Rebuilding. Aside from *more* new missions, there are dynamic spawns - protect the construction crews, guard the onvoys, that sort of thing. Much like the Steel Canyon fires.

Phase 3 - Reclaimed. THere are still pockets of strong gang activity, but for the most part, it's down to a normal zone.

Now, how would that work for Faultline? The dam, of course.

"Due to the continuing attacks on the Terra Volta reactor, the city has decided it's past time to reclaim the dam in Overbrook, now known as Faultline."

For the most part, it would be the same - with a defended corridor (lots of sandbags, bridges, etc - superspeeders delight) between the entrance and the dam, and heroes being assigned to go in and check the dam.... which, of course, means bad guys can go in, too.

Don't have it as a trial initially - right now you're checking things out. Second issue, start the trial again... as well as give some incentive to street sweep (again, protect the construction crews and the like.)

    [ QUOTE ]

Okay, here's what was stolen from Art Asylum. It's a chrome plated bust of a Cylon from Battle Star Galactica. It's a prototype so no one but Art Asylum should have one at this time.

    Stolen Cylon Bust

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would this be that? "Comic-con-exclusive" bsg cylon bust? Looks silver-painted, not chrome, and other details might help (size and whatnot.) (Edited for note - nope, because they do have a "limited run of 1000" over at Art Asylum.)
  18. And Therra Paladina (PB) finally got her last half bub to get to 50 today.... that's #3...

Yeah, one of mine. Continuation of my first 50. One year, one week, and oen day after creation...
  19. While in game, press print screen.

Then go to where City of Heroes (or villains) is installed, usually c:\program files\city of heroes. Inside that, you'll find a screenshot folder. That's where they go.
  20. I have an older version of Photoshop I still use - but for quick edits/crops/etc, yeah, Irfanview.

  22. I like clean and simple for some... that looks good
  23. I would, but then I'd have to explain why photographers hate Stalkers.

Ok, my "main" stalker, Sanguine Phantasm .

And the one I came up with, concept-wise, before even getting into Beta, Scarlett Bloom. She sings... her version of nursery rhymes as she kills.

One made as a counter to my Spine/Inv scrapper, Sinister Nova.

To go with my Brute (and highest villain,) Feliney Assault, I have Feliney Mischief, at least as she is on Pinnacle.

I know I have more... those are all I have screenies of at the moment though
