Gratz, Dirtwolf.
And I like the "Developer incognito." Not making guesses...
Oh. And for anyone who doesn't get it, Graver is awesome. Bit of a wait (I think I was at about a year for this piece - with, what, 18 people in front of me at the time and his mentioned move somewhere in the middle?) but really, *really* worth it. (And you can see where you are in the queue, too.) -

Yeah, I heard about the powers designer opening. I don't meet two of the requirements:
At least 1 shipped AAA title
Refrain from calling other forum posters "blithering idiots."
Also, Mountain View is too long of a work commute from Honolulu. And I hear Castle has a clause in his contract that allows him to call any powers designer hired after him "Igor."

Just to be clear, the phonetics on that would be something like "Eye-gore".

Of course, there has to be the reciprocal clause where, the first time he/she tells you to "Walk this way," you do... -
Y'know, seeing those empty cubes, just waiting for new NCSoft folks (NCSofties? NCSofticles?) to fill, should be an inspiration...

Like Jay even more now. I also have a action figure.... problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I've seen this quite often in collectors of action figures - the strange inability to open the container. Yet these same people can open much more difficult containers that hold computer equipment in them. Very mysterious.
Thankfully, any six year old child can solve your problem and many can do so without any instruction or special tools. Simply leave one or two of them in Jay's cube and go do lunch. When you come back, at least half of them will be open and ready to play with!

I thought I had broken my action figure...problem...after the Episode 1's were done...
Sadly, I am falling back on old habits now for some reason...darn those redo's of the 3 3/4" GI Joes! Dang them!

He's in IT. That's their natural state.

Once again I seem to be the one to question the puzzle and its rules/goal. I assume this is a basic jig-saw type puzzle, but had to ask. At first when I looked at it, I thought it might be the type where there's 1 spot blank, and you have to move the pieces around (can't remember what it's called atm).
For future reference, (just like the sudoku) some small box explaining the puzzle of the week.

...
If this week's "puzzle" were any simpler, it'd be the completed picture itself. (I'd say with "Cut here" around the edges, but that'd probably lead to someone sticking scissors through their monitor.) -

Well, despite all the info up to this point, it appears that villains will *not* be getting Kheldians as Epic ATs. During the recent Bay Area Meet & Greet, Positron is reported to have said that villain EATs will be something *other* than Kheldians. In a response to a PM from me, Posi confirmed that the plans for villain EATs do *not* include Kheldians.
This is a complete about-face from their former plans, of course, but that's to be expected sometimes. It'll be interesting to see if we ever get comments as to why they changed their minds (whether it was because of problems porting Khelds over to the red-side, lack of interest from players, or something else entirely).
[/ QUOTE ]
Definitely need some Dev clarification (and reasoning, if true) on this - especially with the "Early 08" they mentioned before. That's a good bit of work that would just be scrapped, otherwise. -

I know double posts suck, but I just thought of something. Do you think it is possible to customize the Nova and Dwarf form? Maybe you want your squid a little bit bigger or a different face, or maybe pink. Have a skinny dwarf. They should impliment this with the Evil Kelds, or would this fall under power custimization and be deamed impossible.
[/ QUOTE ]
(a) Falls under power customization, same reason you can't customize henchmen.
(b) Kheld forms look they way they do for a reason. -
Well, I've got a christmas cat all ready (medikitty, hero, defender) - or there's Clair de Lune's christmas outfit (hero, defender, kin/dark.)
They're all dressed up already! -

Happy birthday.

I'm guessing the vault door triggers the typical 75%, 50%, and 25% hp spawns that so many other multi-spawn critters do.
[/ QUOTE ]
Initially, I thought it was somthing similar - but it isn't.
Three spawns (from memory) are triggered as soon as you come within range of the vault door (watch your Global, there'll be NPC chatter saying "We've got a situation!")
You can, at this point, go to the front door, stand and wait for the ambushes. All three will come through, even with the vault door at full health. -

There are too many players already who run around bragging about how much debt they have. A Few minutes playing with them and you realize why they have so much debt. A few more minutes playing with them and their utter lack of Tactic or Common Sense get you debt also.
Some of us Players ROLEPLAY our characters and DO NOT get alot of Debt. We are PROUD of the fact that we dont get Debt. Again, we are ignored and slighted. Rewards to the dumbest and most careless players.
Yeah, I'll just keep muttering "Its a reward, be happy."
[/ QUOTE ]
Gods, but people whine.
Go to Split Infinity radio, they explained why they're doing this - it's part of "Encourage people to team, heck do crazy things without worrying about the hangover the next morning!"
And for the people who complain that they won't get to work on their debt badges?
... How long does it take you to die five times? At 50, even for a tank... turn off your armors, get to Monster Island with a few Awakens and a friend to TP you into the water to use them... 90 (?) seconds of debt protection, I'll be generous and say 20 seconds to die. Under ten minutes, you're back at the cap.

For nearly $10 (including shipping) one can get a CoV or a CoH game with one month free. Is 240,000 prestige (12 slots) worth $10 to you?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ooops. If it's just one side of the game, it's only 8 slots and 160,000 prestige.
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm....there is no more getting "one side of the game" anymore :-D
[/ QUOTE ]
Not true. That "Get the other side" bit was a one time thing as well, from what Lighthouse said previously. -
How about an I3 pic...
Remember that bit Graver did of Therra, with all the knotwork? Well, here she is in all her low level, I3 glory.
>.<
Things to note...
Bloom? Shadows? DoF? What are those?
How did I EVER play at those settings? (Of course, Athlon XP 2000 and GeForce 5200...)
Ragdoll physics, heck. We defeat them in slab-friendly style!
Cape? Not yet... not for many, many levels...
And WHAT did I do to get orange hair...
Anyone else run across some oldies?

Dropped this in Oceanborn's guide, thought I'd add it here too.
Posi was one of several on IRC chatting during Split Infinity's City Scoop staff interview tonight. Spur of the moment, I asked him about avilians - if they were backburnered, scrapped, etc. He confirmed they're officially dead, since they could give players wings.
Which is a pity. I wanted to see what sort of story would be whipped up around them.
Which leaves us with:
Kheldians - active Heroside, coming "hopefully early 08" villainside.
Incarnates - "would like to do next, can't find where they fit" no other word.
Coralax - Unknown
Blood of the Black Stream - unknown.
Of course, NCSoft NorCal is getting more people and more funding... so we may actually see some of these sooner than Soon (tm) ... I hope! -
Wow, it's been a while.
So, update time:
SplitInfinity Radio had a talk with the City Scoop folks tonight, due in no small part to the NCSoft COH IP acquisition. Posi, Ex, Lighthouse and several others were there.
I asked Posi flat out in IRC (spur of the moment, an "Ooh, while he's here" thing, if Avilians were backburnered or dead. He confirmed the Avilian EAT is dead because they found the way to give players wings. (Not sure it logged the chat, but...)
No comment on the others.
In the meantime, Villain Khelds are being aimed at for "early 08," which several are taking for "Issue 12." Hopefully.
Status at this time of the EATs:
Kheldians - Hero - In game since I3
Nictus and (as yet unclarified on the name) "Evil Peacebringers" - "Hopefully early 2008."
Avilians - No longer planned.
Incarnates - "We hope to fit them in after villainside Kheldians, but they don't fit the storyline."
Coralax - unknown.
Blood of teh Black Stream - unknown.
Personally, I find the loss of Avilians disappointing - but then again, I want to see what part of the storyline they open up (which is why I have little interest in Incarnates... they seem, to me, to not really shed light on a lot.) -
I always forget to come back here and fix one thing - namely the bit about the vault door.
You'll get three spawns from it, solo. While initially it didn't seem like waiting made a difference, but vault door health did, the three spawns (solo) come at regular intervals - a minute apart, roughly. So, yeah, they can spawn while the hero comes after you. -
Heh... Well, most of mine would be Kheldians. Let's see who I have screenies of...
Violet Flame, Warshade.
Voidbane (Virtue version,) Ve... er, Peacebringer.
Therra Paladina, Peacebringer (and one of the ones I need to update to show everything.)
Non-Kheldian:
Seeker209, view one and two (another that needs updating... and combining, really.) Spine/Inv scrapper.
His nemesis, Sinister Nova - spine/nin Stalker, and the one who set him up to be exiled.
Arichen, Mind/Emp troller
Now, if we want to count extradimensional as "alien," there's another pairing of nemeses...
Ignia Elemenia, who's searching for whoever extinguished her family... who happens to be Incineria. -
Well, at least there *is* competition....
What else, "GvE #1 superhero MMO?"
Either way, woo -
Awesome!

I can peeks @ storie byble plz?
