  1. Looking back at one of the complaints about I3 before it went live, it's ironic:
For a while there, Atlas couldn't solo his own mission either.

(not particularly looking forward to City of Scrappers)
  2. As usual, Amberyl comes along and says it better than me.

    Also, Stargazer wrote:

Oh, I'd do it too. But see below.

That said, I don't know if I like the implication that the standard response for an average hero running into an even boss should be "Whoops, I better run get some help".

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Exactly.
  3. Okay, I'm a little miffed now. I'll admit it. Have been ever since I found out that the difficulty level of this game was only ever being raised - never lowered.

Except for the fact that Statesman has said that ALL ATs should be able to solo, that's almost a good point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's actually only part of what I've said. Solo players should always have something to do...

Translation: go street-sweep for a while. Or try to find some teammates who aren't idiots. But not experience content at your own pace, oh no.

I just. Want. To reliably complete my own missions with non-power builds. I got this game to play a SUPERHERO of my own imagination, not a cookie-cutter "toon." I don't want a game without challenge, honestly I don't, but I also don't want to keep running into brick walls!

You put great content in this game. I want to see it. Not half of it, because I have to go outlevel the mission (and the contact) to beat it, and not none of it because it's safer to just grind my way to 50. All of it.

    [ QUOTE ]
If a player sees a boss of his level, he should probably get help...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Who are willing to come into the already cleared mission, paste the boss in two minutes, and get no reward for their trouble (except a warm and fuzzy feeling for helping a frustrated fellow player). Right.
  4. It's before my time, but I understand that Crey's Folly didn't always have a level restriction (before Issue 1?). I've seen screenshots that looked authentic.

"Give up Dr. Vahzilok, you can't win... with my mighty gazelle leap I will defea...uh...oh...uh...excuse me I have to go."

You're in a sewer. Just do it right there.

    Time Travel

Obviously, the only proper and practical means of travel through time involves a sled-like conveyor backed by a large spinning copper dish, with brass rails and a comfortable seat or saddle, and controlled by the simple yet precise manipulation of a lever topped by a globe of purest crystal...
  7. (( Erm... isn't this thread ultimately pointless? Doomsday was not a character at all, but a plot device; he existed solely to kill Superman, and anyone and anything that attempted to thwart him from that purpose was defeated and cast aside. So I can basically summarize this entire thread:

    Doomsday appears.
A bunch of heroes try to fight him, and are defeated, no matter what they do.
Statesman (or whatever hero Doomsday is targeted on) appears.
    Statesman and Doomsday fight.
Statesman defeats Doomsday but "dies," setting off a Major Media event, merchandizing, the appearance of four new characters who each represent a different take on Statesman's accumulated mythos, and so on.
Doomsday, his purpose served, is put on ice to be dragged out whenever the devs, er, the writers need their deus ex machina again.
    The End. ))
  8. Look at the icon - it's an alien head. So the "Greys" of modern UFO folklore are actually his minions ...
(Which fits, if you go with the theory that aliens have basically filled the niche in our folklore that used to be occupied by the Faerie.)

    Other references I've noticed:
<ul type="square"> [*] The districts of Perez Park are named for comics artists/writers: George Perez, Neil Gaiman, Bill Everett (the creator of the Sub-Mariner gets a lake, how fitting), etc. And someone else already mentioned the Bendis marker.[*] The Gish (Kings Row) is possibly a ref to actress Lillian Gish, from the period of the Row's heyday.[*] Land of the Lost (Skyway City): Marshall, Will and Holly / on a routine expedition / when the greaaaatest earthquake ever knowwwwn...[*] Talos Island districts are full of references to Greek myth, including Talos himself, originally a bronze giant with molten blood.[*] Dark Astoria - I'm sure that the districts besides Raimi and Romero also mean something, but Google and IMDB turn up nothing.[*] Terra Volta districts are named for Golden/Pulp Age heros, mostly of the strongman sort: Steve Rogers, John Carter, Doc Savage, Professor Challenger, etc.[*] Some of the districts of Peregrine Island are refs to DC heroes - Kent Nelson (Dr. Fate), Arthur Curry (Aquaman) and his wife Mera.[/list]
  9. Okay, so the +1 enemies across the board in missions is a bug. Great. Any hints on when it's going to be FIXED, and what we should do in the meantime, since some of us (genuine newbies) serious problems doing our own missions with this BUG?

If the answer's "don't play for a week," well... I understand these things happen, but I won't be happy about it.
