That reminds me - a friend of mine was telling me the other day he still wants a Pistols Crapper. I said it'd never pass.

Whaaaaat?
What is this madness you speak?
ALL new content must be for Incarnates! And co-op! And require at least a full team of eight, if not two or three!
(In a slightly more serious tone, I note that the latest CoH email "poster" has, down near the bottom, a promise that a Nemesis Plot is in the works.) -
new character: the Kaaba. Huge build, max height, all black.
-
Guess I'm just that naive, then.
And I still think farming is wrong, though I have no power to do anything about it. Positron did, but he didn't follow through.
Unfortunately, it seems the door of permissiveness swings only one way. You can let everyone be as much bastards as they want (e.g. EvE), but you can't make them all saints. -
There are people who want an actual challenge, with a chance of failure, and then there are people who just want a guaranteed win over an inferior foe to make them feel better.
Note that this applies to PvP as much as PvE. -
I get my PvP in other games, like Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty. PvP is the entire focus of these games, the characters are balanced and pre-built for it, and no one's non-PvP fun is being interrupted or disrupted. Unlocked weapons and practice to improve player skill aside, there's no previous investment: it's "pick up and go", with fast respawns so you don't have to sit out of the action for long. The culture and language are much less toxic, at least on the servers I play. For these reasons and others, I find that I don't get as angry, frustrated, etc when (trying to) PvP, and that in itself is another reason.
EDIT: I also share some of Samuel Tow's feelings about winning, losing, and the conscious decision to be a jerk to someone else and/or take pleasure from their emotional distress. I can't speak to the "validity" of such feelings, only that I do have them. -
Frankly, sometimes I wonder if anyone runs anything these days but DFB and DiB, over and over.
-
So, I have a question!
Who else is for locking Venture and Golden Girl in a room together and letting them rant, I mean, explain the obvious and immutable Truth to each other?
Hands? -
Mecha Armor pic 1: "IT'S A GUNDAM!!"
Mecha Armor pic 2: EVA 02? -
Finally.
May I suggest that in the future, you release stuff that's done before stuff that still needs work, despite what it may do to your "schedule"? -
I, for one, really don't care about where any SG ranks on a list. Quality comes from players, and founding date is no guarantee of current activity or relevance. And "prestige" is utterly meaningless, save to those who fixate on it for purposes of virtual **** measuring.
-
But will "the focused totality of your psychic powers" appear in the set description?
(Damn you, Claremont.) -
Or at a supermarket for .50.
Or a movie theater for $2.00. -
"My ADD demands novelty! Combos! Buttons that light up! Twitch gamer mechanics! Stimulation! Constant management! Forget boring powers that just work, I'm buried in FX-spam on raids and I still want MOOOOOORE!"
-
When it comes to teaming, especially redside, I am often reminded of my old school dances - upwards of a dozen kids lurking around the edges, all of them waiting to be asked by someone else.
Want a team? Start one. -
The main reason I don't play my FF/Energy defender more is not that her powers are lame, it's simply that I've been playing her (on and off) for seven years and I have other alts. (That, and she ICly spends most of her time battling evil in another dimension.)
Samuel Tow has already explained why some people like "boring" powers and don't want everything to have some "gimmick." What he said goes for me too. -
The OP acknowledges that he's lazy and wants alignment changes, respecs, and other significant changes to a character rendered trivial.
That's a "no" from me. -
Still a good idea, that I hadn't seen before. I support it and would like to see it implemented.
-
One thing I got from the OP, that might be fun and super-heroey, is adding more members of the "Rogue's Gallery" group that you face in bank robberies, etc. So instead of yet another generic boss or elite boss for [villain group], you'd face off against some guy in a costume, much like you.
There are plenty of unique, recognizable personalities at the top end of the game (the Surviving... Six, the Praetorians, etc etc) and the low (Twinshot et al *) - we could use a few more for the mid-range, perhaps.
* hoorb. -
Ah, a "who'd win" thread. This is how I know I'm reading a comics forum.
-
Reading this thread has made one thing clear to me:
JB doesn't actually like Tankers. Not really. He says he does, but wants to get rid of them in favor of some AT that exists in his head - some kind of Brute variant, I'd say.
One thing he does like about Tankers, though, is generating aggro. He loves that part. Wants all the aggro, everyone focused on him. -
and then the Sheriff apologizes, lets him go and pardons him.
-
orrrrr (in fairness), many tank players have simply become resigned to doing the kind of damage they do. I'm one of those.
