I still love my Rad/Rad defender, but he's a Taxibot, so there's not as much call for his services anymore.
One thing that might contribute a little to the "old and boring" factor for some (i.e., those who care about such) is that Neutrino Bolt is so fast-animating it pretty much is your attack chain. Set it on Auto, throw in the AoEs as they come off cooldown and have targets, and forget about it. It's like swinging your weapon in other MMOs - effective, but just kind of "there." -
Yeah, I agree with Demon Shell (and Techbot Alpha).

Hit Streak, Zwillinger:
Thank you very much for reading and responding to our concerns, and for changing the program to (hopefully) be more fair and inclusive, even though it surely means more work for you and your staff. I'm sorry about that last part... but as you've noted several times, we live in an imperfect world.
That said: IMO, Yoru-Hime was the latest of several to raise some valid points on this thread. You should have seen this coming. You should have learned from previous attempts, and failures, and community reactions. You should be aware that this studio has a very discouraging (again, IMO) record of saying "at this time" and "someday" and delivering "never." These are things that need to be considered, if not directly addressed, when planning events like this.
(Ironically, I personally am no more likely to get a code now than I was before, as I prefer not to use the "social media" service that you're trying to establish a wider audience and/or higher visibility on. But others will, and not just those with open schedules, fast fingers (or OCR programs) and luck... and that suffices.)

Slotting new SOs as we level was once CoH's equivalent of a gear grind (which, As Everyone Knows, All MMOs Must Have). In fact, it was once expected that we'd get most of our SOs as loot from foes defeated, as buying a full set of them from a contact (or a store, but those only sold the ten most common types - if you wanted anything else, you had to schmooze a contact of your origin) could be staggeringly expensive - a whole million influence per tier!
The game has, shall we say, changed a bit since then. -
Quote:All of the codes released so far were claimed within seconds (by someone fast and/or lucky), yes.All of the codes are gone?? :C well that sucks. I can never understand twitter I thought that they were going to be doing the give away today.
They may release more today. You can expect exactly the same thing to happen if they do. -
And as they said, I'm sure we'll get those right after some fingers for our mitten-hands.

You are (deliberately or not) ignoring the colloquial, idiomatic use of "X is dying", which implies that its demise is predicted to be in the timeframe of "sooner", not "later."
Overuse of this phrase is punishable by being forced to speak exclusively in geologic timeframes.
"What time do you want to go to the movies?"
"Right now."
"When do you expect to die?"
"Right now."
"When will Baja California split off from the North American coast?"
"Soon." -

Best left to the individual player's imagination(s), surely?
They can never cover all the possibilities, and no one but you will ever get to see/experience it, so why not just pretend? -
My first character/main/50, seen in my userpic, was strongly based on a character I'd made for tabletop Champions a decade before. While that character's powers fit almost perfectly into CoH's powersets, there still came a point in the creation process when I had to make her someone different - someone who fits in this universe, this setting. And in hindsight, I'm glad; it allowed her to become her own person, and she's far more real to me now, with more history, than that barely-played prototype.
More recently (just the other day, in fact), I deleted a character who I made the mistake of creating while the concept was still only half-baked. Worse, most of the concept I did have was of a perpetual screw-up and loser, and that's really hard to feel inspired by. Eventually the whole thing collapsed like a souffle and I deleted my mistake. Should I ever get the urge to retool and revisit the concept and powersets, I know I can get him back up to where he was in just a couple of nights worth of DFB. -

Some may have figured it made up for the week or so that bringing any pets at all to the final fight meant a failed trial, thanks to the previous bug with the Lights.

We know, Commando. What you're missing is that you're being mocked and/or baited.
No one, IMO, is calling for a nerf to all doms. They're saying that one power (Seeds) in one powerset (Plants) is too much, with SOs or IOs, and should be brought in line with the rest. Will it be? Who knows. That's for the Devs to decide, not the players.
But balance issues with a single power does not mean a mandate to nerf all doms, and the only thing that you starting a thread to run around like Chicken Little accomplishes is to make you a target of ridicule. Chill out, let it go, and enjoy your characters. -
Macros to play your character for you, auto-potion, etc are a bit beyond "better ways of indicating health status", don't you think?

Pay more attention.
Don't get in over your head.
If you do faceplant, accept that it happens, take the rez or go to the hospital. Get back in the game, rather than taking it as a Failure Oh Noes.
If you're rusty from not playing for a while, get your skill back up.
Don't ask for the game to play itself for you. -
Quote:A line that gets extra Viewer Punch points for being delivered by kindly old Patrick Stewart."Sometimes... for the greater good, sacrifices must be made."
"Sacrifices?!"
"Oh, my son... they were only slaves."
(On the other hand, the Lord is just fine with killing lots of innocents (first-born sons and otherwise) for the benefit of His chosen people... it's that kind of story and/or era, plenty of Values Dissonance all around.) -
It's unfortunate that the wave timer seems to have only two settings, Way Too Fast and Way Too Slow.

"On the contrary, sir, I think this project is very important. It is you I take lightly."
And continuing the topic, such as it is:
"'Once ze rockets are up, who cares vere zey come down?
Zat's not my department,' says Wernher von Braun." -
Quote:Ha! So true.Don't worry, it's just a movie. The dog playing Lee was fine after the scene. He probably got paid more than you did.
Heck, now I think I have to write the behind-the-scenes stuff for one or both movies. And possibly the bloopers/outtakes for "Casino Heist", with the player characters messing up their roles. -
Venture:
Look, I get what you're saying, but we are talking about a very important rocket program here, and we can't afford a German gap!
(If Nazis offend, would you rather discuss how star athletes are always held to the highest standards of academic excellence and/or personal conduct?)
SlickRiptide:
Whenever someone brings up the story bible these days, I really think that somewhere over the years, they lost it. Literally, in all the regime changes, lost it. They put it down and it vanished or walked away, just like the jokes about Azuria. (And all that semi-documented code from the first few issues.) But they can't exactly admit that, can they? -
Quote:Depends. Will they help us beat the Russians to the moon? Not all of them deserve life in prison but none of them should ever be put in a position of authority or be made responsible for the safety of others. Not everyone convicted by the Nuremberg trials was sentenced to death but would you have let any of them have their old jobs back after their time was up?
