I'm struggling to think of another Accurate Heal power beyond those two.
oh, Dark melee Heals... any other?
kind of annoying that the bug still occurs, mind I knew it would so never even considered the proc for my build anyway. -
Well I never left with the intention of leaving, I left because there was no point getting the internet in my rented flat for a few months.
So i'm glad I was finally able to get it sorted in my new home -
So not a new player thread, so I decided to post it in general, plus with people going we need a pick me up!
Finally resubbed and am back, yey -
Actually your slightly off Jay, every power you listed except for Power of the Phoenix, Mutation, Falllout and Resurrect can be used on the controller tier 9 pets (except where mind doesnt get the pet)
Saying that there are many powers which are situationally useful, Defender primaries / troller secondaries are buff sets, and theres no reason not to have "team only powers" one could argue that taunt is team only, then theres Vengeance, granted a pool power, but still. -
its not a good power...period, not in the set or alone, the regeneration boost when you look at it isnt enough to assist the squishies, or provide a notable boost to those using regen.
Most skippable power ever. -
You cant hide form them, but so what?
a few enemies you cant hide form keep you on your feet, just like controllers have some enemeis that dont mez easily, scrappers hate stuff that rez them, tanks hate stuff that they cant cope with and blasters sometimes get hit (visa ve, they die). i like to fight Knives on my Stalker sometimes. -
Now Praf let the people have their "but other, completely unrelated stuff can do it" posts
-
The root isnt bad, one slotted Rech Rdx makes it stackable, so I tend to recast on the downward fall anyway. No reason to waste 2 power picks to do what one can do better.
-
I'll admit I bought this
Though I think it would be one of the true signs of the apocolypse FFM leaving the game, right up there with GG switching to Union. -
I've used alot of software trials, www.downloads.com is brilliant for finding the odd bit of software for whatever I need it for, and I have to say I have used more "Full Access/Limited Time" than I have done "Part Access/Unlimited Time". But thats just me, obviously in this situation Unlimited Time is hardly an option, so your choices are limited for what to run.
As for feedback, most companies accept feedback, whether they take it seriously or not is never going to stop people giving them feedback, and if we all throw our stupid ideas and suggestions at them, if we can help them improve the game environment in one way, thats a bonus.
Obviously theres an issue with trial accounts, too lax, to too heavy handed, and obviously its gonna be hard to balance, at the end of the day, perhaps we're in a better position to say what potential subscribers would find acceptable having been there before, and then maybe were not.
I'd like to think that some of whatever (sensibly) is fedback on these boards does get thought about, afterall its a great opportunity that MMO Devs have to increase the appeal of their game by listening to the fanbase. -

New Weapon Set please!
The only character I have thought about is my main Mega Jamie who lived in Croatoa, however I was planning of writing a rather convoluted JLA style backstory which included all of my heroes, but most that I have thought about originate outside of Paragon City, so I don't think they'd care where they lived too much, heh -

I should note that a suggestion discussed in detail on the French forums has already been passed along for consideration at NCNC (it was also suggested here on the English), and any other good ideas that crop up will likewise be sent over.

While not ideas Per Se, I hope that much of the constructive critiscm as possible is fed back to red names. I mean given 5 minutes while typing my initial post in this thread I was able to prove to potential viability of RMTers just buying accounts and recouping that one 1 sole customer.
Personally I would raise the level cap, that being that in my trial I was able to hit 20, and i played fairly slowly, some gamers who power play could easily be starved for activity with the cap.
I would probably say to double it, 30 seems fair, since it makes tier 9s of primary just a tease away, and you could hit zones where people of your own sets your teaming with could be using these tier 9s, increasing the desirability to level, i.e get the game.
Influence - I agree with this, a first time player should have no need for that kind of cash, if your looking at Min/Maxing within 10 days, theres something wrong, infact I would think most trialist that dont have a friend holding their hand would barely be aware of the power of IOs at this point.
PvP Zone entrance - I suppose this is limitations with capping the account's max level, while entering a zone which level locks you much higher, I dont like PvP, especially in this game, I wdnt reconmend it, but then some people love it and only play MMOs for it, with an icnreased account elvel cap, then Bloody Bay would operate as a taster to zonal PvP.
Chat restrictions - Emails are fairly defunct imo, my tab barely opens sucessfully, and I dont remember the last email I got that wasnt an RMT. Saying that, its not hard to delete them when they do come in (and the tab opens) Id be fine with trialists not using this, simply because I struggle to think of any decent use for it as is anywy.
Tells, it would be damn good atleast for them to reply if someone chooses to emssage them. Social Isolation in an MMO cant be good.
Broadcast/Globals- Agreeable I suppose, cant think why a trialist would be, in 10 days, integrated anywhere enough to need ot use globals, however Broadcast may be too limiting. Many new players to the game seem to have the wrong idea how it works, people broadcasting in one area thinking its hitting another, but for the most part, broadcast is (along with blinds) one of the biggest team starters, if they can see it, but only respond in local, they have to hope that the intended taget is in the small local range.
But then thats just my opinion on these, I do honestly think that there were poor design choices made because the Devs rushed into fill this void that almost all players were screaming out for. I do hope that the team arnt too proud to admit that perhaps the first swing was a bit heavy handed and give it another go. -
No I don't. and it would have to transfer my whole account, and even then, I would only consider it when I do emigrate to Canada, which wont be for another 10 years, so whether CoX is still around then, or this is an issue will have to be seen at the time.

Give it more time.
I too believe the trial accounts should be looked at more precisely. Knock on effects are discouraging rather than inviting for new potential players, imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, in fact i think they should have just left things exactly how they were.
So what if we had to delete a few e mails (or even a lot of e mails)
How hard was it to ignore a few idiot tells, or a bit of [censored] in broadcast? Theres enough idiots still spamming it anyway.
I think we just got what we asked for on this occasion.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm lucky if I can even open valid emails half the time, so its not like a couple of spam ones ever bothered me, there delete button is right next to closing the tab down anyway.
And the most a tell ever stopped was a conversation, and now since you can scroll back up, click on the name of whomever you were talking to and continue the conversation, (which makes it easier than haivng to retype the name, or go back to your friends list" i really fail to see the harm of those anyway. -

If they let trialists joing supergroups then theres going to be the call to let them also have full access to thesupegroups content. For the newer, less experienced sg leaders this could be VERY BAD.
A griefer could simply get a trial and go in and boom boom boom, base/enhancements/salvage gone just like that. Then the players of that supergroup will get angry/upset because there is nothing that can be done about it since it is JUST a trial account (sure lets ask that player if they can tell us their real account name, sure they'll give it to us).
So who are you wanting to upset? The already loyal fanbase or the people you giving a TASTER too?
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats a stupid reason to dissallow acess to SGs, just earlier in the week there was a thread of a fairly inteligent sounding SG leader who lost stuff to someone that built up trust over months. Since the guy was using a full account I guarantee the worst punishment he would get would be a 72 hour Ban, and thats if they decide he was at fault. and thats a main account.
Yeah the 'punishment' for offences like that is quite poor at the moment. Afterall if someone in an SG gives you access to the storage, then thats their fault, you've got access you can do anything.
TBH saying "dont let it cos griefers will steal from people" is one of those nice little rules that people set up to protect idiots. No sensible SG leader would or should operate their SG in a way which allows promotion or access to resources based on anything but sheer trust. So if a trial account managed to get that much trust within 14 days to be able to grief an SG, then the leader probably needed the wake up call that they have problems in how they operate.
As I have said many many times about this issue, if just one person is put off from the game by any of the trial restrictions then it was a very very poor way to handle the issue in the first place.
You shouldnt shoot potential new customers in the foot just because a couple of people abused the system.
In Guild Wars iirc trial accounts had full access for a long time (infact they only changed just after i switched to here, iirc) and they delt with their Gold Sellers by being able to monitor all accounts that the trial accounts had had dealings with and from that track the purchesers, and the accounts which collected the loot.
Sure it wasnt a fool proof system. Gold Sellers ended up passing amounts through stupid numbers of proxy accounts. But so what?
At the moment CoH/V costs as little as £9.99, a quick google around shows that power leveling can easily cost mroe than that, as well as most 'high' amounts of Influence (£9 nets you 50Mil, not enough for some expensive IO build these days)
So all they have to do is pay £9.99, (or have been really cheeky and baught a bunch of those PCZone or w/e mags for £5 that included the game) and recruit one person willing to use their services per account, and they have recouped the costs of setting up that account, bipassed the trial account limitations, and made a profit on this game.
While the OPs son, my friends, and i'm sure everyones in general, is left wandering around Atlas, or Galaxy wondering why they can't seem to do jack. -
Happened to me a week ago after i reactivated my account from inactivity. Could play my current SoA, but cudnt make a new one till i logged my 50.
Could be bad if someone deleted their 50 after unlocking SoAs. -
iirc there is(was?) a problem where trial accounts upgraded still carried trial restrictions until the trial time was over.
This used to mean, well, nothing, its probably alwayexisted in the code for it "thanks for subbing, finish the trial time too and then use your free/paid time."
Now it really limits people who shudnt be and thats just wrong and really should be fixed. PM GR or open a support ticket, im sure they can deflag that account as trial.
and even tho another "restrictions" thread probably isnt the best.
Yes they are far too limiting.
I would never have purchased the game had I been affected by these trial restrictions. -
Weapon Custimisation works (see a thread by FFM somewhere) by sinply replacing the weapon graphic with another one, no animation changes, no FX colour changes. Nothing. Nice simple one thing added.
Any of your suggestions would require new animations for every single power, for every single change.
Changing sonic from cominf from the mouth to gun in hand. Obvious new animations for all.
Crossbow, if you look at the bow animations, you can clearly see they wudnt work if your character was holding a crossbow, so new ones there.
Spines, they are baked into the power, to make these customisable it would require a complete overhaul of the power itself, before the addition of any spine-weapons. -
your friend must have had their account deactivated for over 90 days to benefit.
Also I believe there is a seperate invitation for returning players and new players, so did you use the right one.
If all else fails, open a support ticket -

I would rather wait a little longer for a smooth and full issue than a rocky half-baked issue.
Saying that though, it would be nice to have some info to flirt with for a bit, come on guys, tease us! -

It said mostly women, but not always, so you couod still have a male witch.
2) Black magic not necessarily evil. sure its based on melevolant acts, designed to cause harm. But if your causing harm to say a mass murderer, or a hellion stealing a purse, its a good cause.
