  1. Its the middle of a working day in the middle of school term time.

Its a friday in Summer, quite a warm one.

The game is heavily instanced based, standing in a social area at a time when people wont be doing too much socialising (since thered be so few people on most would be doing missions) isnt really a good way to judge the population.

Join Sals Badgehunters, a global channel, and you'll see quite a few people online.

Also, since Going Rogue is in Closed Beta, it may be that those that have the time to be on today are testing the new stuff instead.
  2. Electric Melee... I strongly reconmend it.

Its a fun ride to 3 anyway, the AS animation is good. Lightning Rod doesnt break hide, but will agro.

With a high defence secondary (i have nin, but i SR would do well too) you can BU>>LR>>AS

or, my favourite is BU>>LR>>Thunderstrike, which i believe is guarantee critical on your target, and a good chance of critical on the rest. The throw out a chain induction, Placate and then AS on whatever is big and left standing.

Quite often I neglect to use AS, especially on teams beyond occasional oppeners because I'm having too much fun with all my other utlities. I really should respec him though, since he doesnt have Tough/Weave etc, and is still very survivable.
  3. If my laptop were to suddenly come back ot life, which is highly doubtful, I have a mids database on there not updated for a year. That would cover the pre-Energize...

But like i said, not gonna happen sorry.

    Out of curiosity...why?
  4. Maybe Temp powers should be moved into the costume piece Pool instead.
  5. I wish.

99% of the time I don't care if the SR scrapper has all his toggles on, or the WP tank has eveything on.

I just like to make sure my Sonic Shields etc are out there, the Icon for Sonic Shields is, imo the hardest to make out from anything else, and even with inherants turned off (which takes away Mystic Fortune buff icons!) at high levels Stuff can go all the way from one side of the screen to the other, and its not what I want to see.
  6. Cursed Luck is a bit OP. Enemies in PvE tend to have few attacks, so even if you only disable one, you could be disabling their big one that makes them tough.

Look at the ITF. Your one power has put the Healing Nictus out of action completely.

Sharker is incorrect here. You Will Recieve a very slight benefit from overslotting even after the effects of ED. While usually yes, its pointless to slot more than 3, or sometimes even 2 if what your trying to enhance has a small base value, you will recieve some benefit.

Also when using IOs for set bonus, giving a few extra slots to these powers may be waranted.
  8. There was a 'feature', a funny colour combination, one of the purple colours and one of the greens, when selected as primary and secondary, it made the body part invisible.

Once it became very common knowledge, and everybody did it, I guess the Devs removed it and found a new way to make things invisible when needed.

IWhile most people were doing funny floating heads (that was fun) I had a character who lacked upper arms, and had only big gloves, and uised the electric arm aura to make them look held on by that.

It was quite fun, and the option to make things invisible again would be most enjoyable

    Adamastor?

On the plus side, since anybody who has taken a jaunt in the lovely Dark Astoria (Seriously the zone needs an arc or 5 to show off its awesomness) will tell you, its pretty foggy in there. The big boy has glowing eyes, which render from a quite a distance. so if you can get up i nthe air, and hes about, its fairly easy to spot I find.
  10. Range SoftCap, With (hopefully) slightly stacked Hasten and AM Pushing PA into Perma. If not your gonna have to melee it up with Kick for the proc to fire...thus negating your Range Defence.

Another option, slightly modified. You loose a bit of global recharge (well, over 10% or 2seconds of PA recharge), but have a ranged power to hope to get a KB proc trigger on.

I'm sure Local can do better than these tho. And in both instances your defence rellies upon SI, and I'm not sure how much of that supresses when you attack.

EDIT: Seems to be 50% supression of the defence you have SI slotted for, not just a simple base value. But as Local pointed out, the -tohit toggle will drop most things hit chance to 5% alongside what defences are ehre even with the supression.
  11. Depends what your after.

Minions/Liuts/Bosses capable of dropping level 50 stuff can drop purple recipes.

Bosses can drop from the same pool that Random Rare Recipes from merit vendors are rolled from, but its pretty rare as far as the chance goes.

  13. I ran a Citadel TF (my most hated TF) with a PuG team that was forming as I happened by, wasnt from the Badge/TF Channel I usually run TFs with, and it was mostly an SG (4 from it) and 4 PuG.

It was a (poorly built) tank, not sure of the powersets, an emp, myself as Grav/Sonic and the rest a mix of scrappers and blasters.

I did a mistell meant for a PM, which said "Sonic makes Citahell easystreet" and it came out in team, instead of the sound of agreement, I was instead told the only reason this was easy was because of a good tank and the emp throwing out "awesome" heals. Furthermore told that I had the worst control set (Poor Grav is missunderstood) and a rubbish secondary as it had good powers, the steamrolling was just the emp and the tank. hmmmm

Now personally I do not find Healing Aura on auto "awesome heals" since thats all the emp had done, so part way through a mission I let my buffs drop, my Disruption Field and Sonic Dispersion detoggled and I hung back a bit... and watched the slaughter.

The tank faceplanted from one mob, not even an oversized multimob herd, and the rest of the team followed suite a moment or 2 later. This continued for a few rounds, I managed to keep myself alive through it mostly from good inspiraiton usage and knowing when to run.

The tank was quick to point out that the enemy had become alot harder, and I ofcourse pointed out that was not the case, we had simply become alot easier because I had stopped wasting my endurance on "useless" powers from my secondary.

A quick buff up again and we were on our way to victory. Still ddint get any praise, but the team had noticed the poor quality of the emp.

It makes me feel really happy when I know, despite wha the team thinks, the buff/debuff set im playing at the time is as big, or even bigger a contributing factor to their survival than an emp.

(not that I find emps to be useless, I have one, and he does a darned good job of keeping people on their feet and buffed up, But i would rather play a proactive buff set, than a reactive buff set.)

Not that its on topic, but really?

My first time playing I was level 20 before I started to hear about TFs and stuff. Tho I guess its different if friends bring you into the game, and if your on a more active US Server.

On topic, While I would like a little more, I think its pretty much easy street as it is, and higher and it would start becoming a farm it for merits dealy like the last one delved into.

Speculation, of course... I'm eagerly awaiting my chance to see it in action.
If it worked like VG, and did not apply damage, just kept reapplying sleep affect every x seconds of its duration it owuld be good. The main (generally) problem with sleep is not the person using it, but the team the person is on. And the general lack of noticable affect.

Tho saying that last night I did a TF with a mind troller who keep casting Mass Hypnosis on the enemies in the blasters RoF, so sometimes its the user.

Being the most fragile of the hard mez's (or would it be soft mez, or borderline?) makes it less desirable by default, but yes I wouldnt rule it out necessarily on its own, but I may have trouble trying to fit it in
  16. Increase Density (Target Ally Buff/Debuff)

    Granite Armor (self buff/debuff)

Oppresive Gloom (Self damage/ PBAoE toggle for enemy stun)

Disuption Field (Targed Ally PBAoE Foe -res, all agro from this goes not to the caster of DF, but to the ally its toggled on)

I think the rez in /poison for MMs debuffs after a while, as someone said Mutation from Rad.

EM Pulse and nukes / melee god modes all debuff after a time, an acolade power or 2 debuffs yourself too.

    Group Flight

in short, debuffing or negative affecting yourself/allies for a benefit that is (see last one) somewhat situational exists in the game a plenty, would more of it be bad....no, would the potential for more of it (say a whole set based on it) be a potential stigma for those players...yes.

Hard to balance I think, but maybe fun.
  17. Engine just cant take it.

more of a CoH2 request, I recon the tech to impliment would take years.
  18. Phased powers should be altered to pseduo-toggles,

Since putting in INtangability Enhances icnreases your Mag, not your duration, it would be slightly easier.

These pseudo-toggles would cost you your end up front, and even begin recharging straight away, but would allow you to toggle them off when you choose.

Actually, to make these powers better by giving the option to turn them off, I wouldnt mind if they didnt restart recharging straight away.
  19. The sleep is adissapointment, I dont care if people are saying they may use it in Beta, I imagine played with very heavy secondaries it will be left out, and hardly missed.

I think in the idoc i saw a stun effect swirling around an enemy, this may mean a stun power, which is more how i envisage elec working instead of -end.

I'm still hoping for a TP Lighting-Rod Esque power, but Im glad we got a chain.

  24. awesome, very survivable, but that may be because I lucked out on getting the +res procs into my build early.

Good damage output and, imo a fair bit of force manipulation.
